Fuller will always be a Stoke legend but his last decent game was in 2010. If we are to push on there is no room for sentiment

How many penalties has Shawcross given away this season that have cost us? Is he on his way now? Can anyone answer this? Swansea away is the only one I can think of.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis on Ricardo Fuller red card: “I’ve just watched it on the TV and it’s a ridiculous reaction. Ric has been at this club for six years now and he’s been fantastic. But he is prone to react sometimes like that. It is unacceptable. He’s a great lad and I’ve got a lot of time for him. He was the first one to apologise when we were all in the dressing room. I’ll speak to him on Monday before I speak to anyone else That it was his first league start in a long time makes it doubly disappointing.” Indefensible actions today. But he's always had it in him, and we all know it. He'll get fined 2 weeks wages and probably feel like shit all weekend. He's got real anger management issues. When he thinks he's wronged, he sees the red mist......and KABOOM! But you'd hope he'd built up enough credit to avoid the kind of bullshit abuse he's got today. Depressingly, obviously not. It's saddening to see this kind of kneejerk nonsense written about a player who's done so much for us and is the best player I've ever seen at Stoke. Bang on FM. He acted like a right twat today, indefensible as you say but crikey! No longer a legend and stuff like that ;D I personally think ric will be finished at stoke but in reality he was anyway, however the moments of sheer magic he produced, often in times of severe mediocrity, that's the shit i think about. He's stoke's balotelli, he just hasn't set fire to his house yet

I love how people think Fuller is now defunct at SCFC...this is Pulis we're talking about! Fuller belted his Captain, and the Captain had to go ;D Fuller is the prodigal son, he may not feature much any more, but he's still golden in Tone's eyes, and don't you all think otherwise. He'll punish him for a fortnight and he'll be back on the team sheet! Meanwhile Pennant will be thinking "is he taking the piss?" and will be gone in the summer. Hope Ric liked his spell on the wing today...he'll be the maverick for it come August

Quite frankly, anyone who doesn't appreciate the likes of Ricardo Fuller is a fucking moron.

Swansea away is the only one I can think of. So if its 1 this season then he's on a par with Fuller but he has given away many needles penalties in his Stoke career.

In my opinion. Best Stoke player I have ever seen. Vital in our promotion to the Prem. Arguably our most important player in our first 2 seasons in the Prem. Scorer of great goals (Villa home, Wet Sham away, Wolves away, Brum home etc...) He was a daft twat today and maybe cost us a point but there's no need to forget all of the above. All great goals but too few too often. Now clearly lacking the pace he once had and getting angry as a result. A great servant and a great player but if there was ever a moment when it became self evident that it's time to move on, then today was the day.

Since we were promoted he has played 105 times in the PL and scored 18 goals - hardly prolific.
He is or at least was a scorer of great goals but never a great goal scorer, there is a vast difference.

The Chelsea defender today clearly knew what he was doing - slide in and planted his boot on Fuller's knee - I can understand the reaction from Fuller - It was naughty on both accounts though - The OVER reaction from the Chelsea defender is laughable - maybe I am in the minority but the way I feel.

I'm only 16 and have supported them since I was 5......he is certainly the greatest player of my lifetime! He will always be a legend in my eyes, just gutted that it is going to end like this A bit like Tevez to a lot of Citeh fans....Again, a strange comparison. Tevez was never as talismanic for the billionaires as Ric was for us - and I can never picture Ric refusing to come on in a match. Fuller is not finished - quote me on that in may

Although you're definitely basically right He's hardly a goalscoring machine. Then again, you can't be the way we set up. He's always been about much more than goals for us. 08/09 League 11 25 Cups 0 109/10League 3 22 Cups 5 510/11League 4 9 Cups 0 311/12 League 0 1 Cups 1 2League 18 in 57 starts Cup 6 in 11 Overall: 24 in 68

But he isn't exactly a poacher. I don't doubt your stats but if you choose to look only at his starts then you conveniently ignore his 48 appearances as a substitute apparently without scoring, not much of an impact there particularly as a supposed impact sub. I commend your unswavering loyalty but time catches up with everyone eventually and it may be time for you to look at changing your user profile

You are also guilty of conveniently ignoring his link up play and threat he has contributed to our attack when he hasn't scored

You're right - although many of his sub appearances have been less than 10 minutes. I'm still not sure he's finished, to be honest. Logic says he should be. He's 33 in October, and I fully expected the achilles injury to finish him off. But his 20 minutes at Derby, played up top, are still the brightest I've seen from a Stoke forward this season. And he still looked good at home against Sunderland and in Istanbul. The job he's been asked to do at Valencia and Chelsea have been pretty alien to him, and it's hardly definitive proof there's nothing left in the tank. And he can't be fully match fit. No pre-season and one league start since December 2010. It's definitely 90% certain he'll be off in the summer, and it'll be the end of a special era. I jsut hope he gets the send-off he deserves. I'm not changing my name, though. JeromeMagic or WaltersWizardry hasn't got the same ring to it.

It's a generational thing. We aren't restricted to a handful, are we? He's lit up countless games for a whole generation and played the primary role (on the playing side) in getting us up and keeping us up - the major milestones in the last 40 years. I think he deserves the title - but it's all about opinions.

He is not or was never a goal scorer, anyone who thinks so is an idiot. And the majority of his appearances in the prem have been off the bench anyway. Pretty sure he got 11 goals when he was our main striker, a decent tally at this level.

It depends how how you deem 'legend'.
One of our most important players of the last ten years?
Check
Scored some of the most spectacular goals for us during the last ten years?
Check
Been part of some the clubs greatest achievements in the history of Stoke City Football Club?
Check.
Legend in my book.

Fuller above all in the last few years was the guy to get me up and out of my seat when he got the ball He has always been frustrating in some games and frankly brilliant on others and sometimes crazy in some
A great player for us and one who has done as much, if not more than any other to get us up and keep us there.
But time and tide look to have taken aware the pace and strength and perhaps, albeit very sadly it is time to applaud the man and what he has achieved at SCFC and move on in the summer
