www.stokecityfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10310~2367920,00.html I just wanted to say thank you to our Lord and wish him good luck in the future. I will never forget just how immense he was in his first season, playing part laying the foundations to what we have achieved so far. He is to date one of TP greatest signings and will always be fondly remembered as a great player for Stoke City FC IMO. All the best My Lord.

Thank you for all you have done for Stoke City and the supporters, who will miss you.

I have a lot of time for Abdy.
He didn't cry like a baby when he lost his place to huth and although he was a liability at times over the last one and a half season's he will still go down as one of our best centre halves ever.
That first season was phenominal

Undoubtedly, Abdoulaye and James Beattie kept us up in the first season. But AD Faye was IMMENSE. It was as good a captain's lead as under Denis Smith or Vince Overson. Goodbye and good luck

My God he was imperious in that first glorious season back in the big time.
We needed a player to lead us to safety and his influence both on and off the pitch cannot be understated.
His nurturing of Ryan into one of the brightest young defenders in the country should also be praised as well.
Thanks for everything, Ab - you will be missed by all of us here at Stoke City.
Praise be to the Lord Abdoulaye.

I've loved him since he played for Bolton...immense man mountain and his debut season for us is nothing less than phenomenal. As has been aforesaid, I believe Ryan took education from him so his legacy continues I'll miss this bloke more than most exiting players, in fact, I doubt we could forget him......ABDOULAYE FAYE.... defensive Saviour x

He was our inspirational leader in the 1st season he was absolutely awesome without his consistently immense presence we would not have survived. Really sorry to see him go.

I don't think we'd still be in the Prem if it wasn't for Abdy's man-mountain performances in that first Prem season. A man of great humility as well, as well as a great centre half. A giant of a man and a true stoke City legend.

His debut for us against Villa at The Brit was one of the finest debut performances i've seen by a City player, bettering Mr. Taggart's a few years previous.
Agbonlahor didn't get a sniff against the big man who was the best player on the park constantly through that game and the rest of the games that followed.
That wonderful season he was our player of the season. For that, i will always love big Abdy!

His first season was probably the best individual season i've ever seen from a stoke player. All the best Abdoulaye.

Its hard to add to what everyone else has said, but it also shows how far we've come when we dont miss him on the field anymore. This is bearing in mind he was our best player in that first season.

Nothing more to add on the positive side from me either.
Reading this thread though, makes it all the more disappointing a sight of him driving off last Sunday at 2pm without the chance for both the supporters to thank him at the end of season lap of honour, aswell as giving him the chance to thank us for all of the support he received during his time here.

He was Ab-solutely immense in the first Prem season, and we wouldn't be where we are now without his contribution. A shame to see his star wane so rapidly in the last 18 months but we'll look back fondly on his time.

We missed him v Man City away and Wigan at home, Danny Collins is no replacement, inferior player to a below par Abdoulaye. He has been missed and will be missed.

Abdy in our first season was the best player I have ever seen in the flesh. He was brilliant in possession and never panicked on the ball, read the game magnificently and made countless saving tackles. His part in the development of Ryan cannot be overstated as having someone as experienced as Abdy beside you would have helped Ryan hugely after his disaster at Bolton on the 1st game of he season when Kevin Davies taught him a lesson.
Abdy was immense and without him we wouldn't have stayed up in the first season. He has been badly hampered with injuries in recent times but should be remembered as a truly top class defender who, in his prime, wouldnt have looked out of place in any defence in the country.

Always rememeber just how immense he was in the first campaign. 'Abdoulaye My Lord' was closely pipped by 'Oh when the reds' as the most sung song that year.

If only most of the fans could have realised his song had 4 lines and not just 2 Remember when it first got going at Sunderland away that 1st season, most of us there that day just sang his name for a large period of the game. Cheers Abdy, just a shame you couldn't have stayed for your lap of honour for us to give you a good send off

This was my favourite Abdy moment, with that time he danced around the pitch after the Blackburn game a close second. Was watching it live here in Oz at 3 in the morning. I woke the kids up. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/vB6bN0CYEY0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

One of my favourite Abdy moments was when we rescued a point at St James Park in that first season. The big man was dancing around a la Nobby Stiles ;D Great player for Stoke in that first season and a shame he's leaving through the back door

No great surprise this, I think we all saw it coming. Just a pity that us mere fans weren't given the opportunity to give the big man the send off he deserved.
Abdoulaye is already a legend of our recent past and I'm sure we all wish him well for the future.
