Cresswell being wank finally helped us out yesterday.
How the fuck he missed his chance god only knows, but he never even looked like he would score. Thank fuck the ball fell to a player with some ability.
The decision to replace Pearson instead of Cresswell was crazy, but it paid off fortunately.
It doesn't matter how we win right now, so long as we do, but the same culprits were present in their full glory during the dire first half performance.
Cresswell and Pugh really are toss, and Griffin continued with his own personal nightmare spell. His injury could be a blessing so long as Pulis doesn't think that Riggot can play effectively at right back for the rest of the season!

I usually try and stick up for him, and while i wouldn't have described him as "wank" he's been off the boil lately. He should have had a hatful at Sheff Wed and definitely should have put that chance away yesterday

The manager loves him and that is what TP does he is deffo a manager who sticks with his good boys ( I used to have a games teacher who did the same thing ) Though it inner helping Cressy sticking him on the right I mean on the left he is a fish out of water on the right he is way way way out of his depth.

David, As blunt as ever, I see. Cresswell is limited and offers very little creativity or threat from wide areas. He's an 'ard worker who puts in a shift and is a poacher - nothing more, nothing less. Griff is not a RB and looks to be incapable of defending at the minute. Pughy is a good versatile member of the squad - not first choice in any, but is 'ok' in a few. I think you do him a disservice in calling him toss - he's tidy for me and his best position is central midfield.

on current form like so many ie griffin, pugh, diao, sidibe they should be dropped but its different rules when they are tony's favourites but which hamper the teams form and results especially the last two months.
but yesterday might just of helped us with the griff injury etc

Hopefully he should be confined to bench duties for the last 3.
I hope he doesn't stick another square peg into the round hole of right-back, in the shape of Riggott. It must be the proper right-back, Wilko....surely?

jar...I thought Sidibe had an excellent game yesterday. A much better effort and much more reminscent of his displays prior to his injury whilst on international duty.
Mama is limited, and when we struggle he stands out like a sore thumb, but yesterday he had a decent game I thought.
Pugh was shocking...Cresswell even worse...Griffin on a par with him, and Cort was dire 1st half but better when he had no-one to mark with the arrival of Shawcross.

We all know Griff has never been good on the right even last season when on loan the first place Pulis played him was on the right then he switched to the left and was the Griff we of old, as you say jarhead TP's way is his way and no matter what we think he will always be that way.

Fuller...we all know who should take the right-back slot but guess who will think otherwise and will put 'his signing Riggott' in???

Really Sidders. Thats your exuse for not been good enough to get into the school footy team, nice one.
Regarding Cresswell, personally don't rate him as he constantly gets into good positions but rarely has the ability to turn them into goals / chances. Having said this yesterday he wanna that bad to be fair. Held onto the ball well and worked his socks off (always does this I know). Pugh was the one who stood out as been shite yesterday. Shame really as he is fast running out of positions to play!

jar...I see you share my worries about Riggot filling the right back slot for the rest of the season.
Surely even Pulis isn't that stupid though! Surely. Riggot performed admirably, and has been first class since his arrival, but he is a centre half and should be partnered by Shawcross who was awesome yesterday.

when sidibe does the things we know he is good at he is a handful for any defence but these past 4 months for me he has been in the side when clearly playing shockingly and offering us nothing especially no threat infront of goal, thats really angered me because pulis has no plan b to change it and i know ive been probably over critical of mama but thats me.when he produces i love the bloke becuse he is in the red n white and thats what matters.
like any player when not cutting it like griffin is i will be critical but still am a big fan of his but pulis is hanging him out to dry by playing him out of position.
my gripe is with pulis on players form or that his favourites have to play no matter what.

Jar...In the thread about Cort, I have just been thinking about our team for Saturday, and with a midfield consisting of Lawrence, Whelan, Delap and Pearson, and a front two of Mama and Fuller, I have figured that Cresswell will fill the vacant right back slot on Saturday. There is no way he will be left out, and I can only think that right back is the only slot available for him right now.

Players are bound to be feeling tired now. Well if the premier league clubs can say that, surely the same can be said for championship players. Cresswell has played most of the season, and played well in the majority. Let's be fair and give credit where it is due to the players who have played there part.
Always makes me laugh how 'fans' can watch the top players in the prem. Gerrard,Torres,Rooney,Lampard etc, and when they have a dip in form it's part of the season, yet us Stoke 'fans' expect our players to be at their very best week in week out, never misplace a pass, never miss a chance and to be consistantly out of this world throughout!
Pisser really!

I feel Wilko will get overlooked because Riggott has been signed from a prem club to play.
Pulis has no balls to leave him out but again even the way his mind works he could drop Shawcross again and play Wilko right-back with Rigg/Cort in the middle? But who is easier to drop,a young upcoming player in Shawcross but who is qualty and scores goals or a experineced high earner from a prem club?

Why would you drop Riggott?
He's been a quality signing, in my humble opinion.

Pisser,Cressy at right-back as he will get up and down will be the quote from Pulis!!!

My back four or five if you include the keeper would be;
Simmo Wilko, Shawcross, Riggott, Dicko
A no-nonsense back 4 who all like defending, like a tackle and can cope with the physical demands of the Championship.
I am not convinced by Nash and would rather Simmo in all honesty, but that is merely my own personal preference.

Dave,
The perceived lack of experience with regard the full backs means he won't play that back 4 - unless his hand is forced.

I don't doubt that for one minute mate, and actually believe that the back four v Bristol will look something like this;
Nash Riggot, Cort, Shawcross, Pugh
In fact, if I was a betting man, this is where I would lay all of my free betting resources.

I hope he does play that back four given that both Dickinson and Wilkinson aren't football players. This is no time to be picking players on the basis of where they come from, those two would be more comfortable in Sunday league.

Slang...And Pugh is?
Dicko is 10 times the player that Pugh is, despite the fact, that AS YET, he is yet to show a great deal of composure on the ball.
Pugh offers us nothing offensively from full back, and he offers us even less defensively. As for composure on the ball, it was his original lack of composure that led to Palace's first goal on Monday.

I would have Shawcross and Riggott as centre halves and would like to see both Wilko and Dicko play as Full back but don't think it will happen so won't get to wound up if it does! Does anybody else remember Cort getting turned like a school boy by adebola during his debut vs Coventry. I do. I hope Pulis does to!
Sidders as long as you showed what you can do from the bench thats all that counts!

You obviously don't remember/choose not to remember his brilliant cross in the crucial win at Scunthorpe. If what you want is full backs who know how to find row Z I guess you would prefer Dickinson and Wilkinson.

Slang...I remember that cross only too well mate having been to every game bar Burnley away this season.
You may recall that Pugh was actually playing on the left side of midfield on that particular evening.
Now, if you can recall even one instance of him offering us anything remotely offensive from the full-back position, then I will shake you by the hand and celebrate you as the font of all football knowledge.
From full-back, all Pugh has offered is an easy goal or two for the opposition.

slangking thats true but Pugh is not on form at the moment is he. As well as this we have been conceding far to many goals. I would rather keep it solid for the time being.

I'd rather have Pugh there any day, a football player, Dickinson and Wilkinson are both hopeless who gave the penalty away yesterday? who else but demolition man.
As an example, probably our worst away performance of the season featured these two clowns in the line up at Bristol City, all they did all afternoon was hoof it all over the shop, they are a liability we cannot afford to have them in the team at this stage, they are just not good enough.

slangking how can you slag off the both of them? They have never let us down and add a bit of 'spunk' to the side. I like Pugh as a player when hes on form but he clearly isn't.
