If Huth can play in both halves, then get Deano back in midfield and helping out in defence and KJ can help out in defence, he has cleared the ball a few times. Playing 3-5-2 woyld be more benefical than collins in and playing 4-4-2.

How about switching Wilson to the left and bringing Wilko in at right back?
I don't normally like making two changes when you can make one but Wilson does have more of a left peg than Andy.

Moving Huth to left back weakens the defence more than bringing in Danny Collins. He has to try Wilkinson there.
Because of the balance of the squad, this is only marginally behind losing one of the wingers or centre halves in terms of the size of the blow.

Gutted. I'd bring Pugh in for him. I'd rather bring myself in than ever see Danny "clearly not a LB at any level" Pugh back in that position

Jamo's idea of bringing Wilko in and moving Wilson to left-back isn't a bad shout.

I'd fancy slotting either Shotton in at left back or, move Wilson to lb and put Shotton at rb! :/

Haven't seen anyone play that shit in a fullback position since Bryan Small was at the club

Wilko and Wilson for me or
Wilson and Woody - reckon Woody could do a good job if we keep Wheland and Delap fit in the middle

I somehow doubt he's damaged any of his cruciate ligaments . . . possibly strained but highly doubt he's damaged it, for a start if he had damaged i.e. torn any of his cruciate ligaments, he would not of stood up again let alone played on for 10 minutes. When you damage any of your cruciate ligaments it halts you in your tracks I can assure you!
Also there was no impact to his leg which would of cause the cruciate ligaments to twist or move in a way which would cause damage to them. Possibly how he landed - straight legged - he could of over extended it - but again it was not severe over extension . . . so if you ask me he'll be out for a week or so with a sore knee.
I'd wait for the official Stoke report rather than listen to the Radio Stoke guessing . . .

It's absolutely criminal how much space he gives the opposition winger to plant crosses into the box, and I actually think his distribution is worse than Higgy's despite what some people think.

If not then Collins is a shoe in, Sir Tony thinks highly of him and wont want to upset the balance in the rest of the team.

I would rather have Collins there. he has at least had a game or two where he looked like he might be up to it. Pugh has not, even in the championship ever looked like a left back. Trying Wilson there and replacing him with Wilko is a risk and would be terminal for Collins. Bringing Deano in to do a job may be more preferable

Yet still miles better than Pugh. Some of our shittest performances have coincided with Pugh playing at LB I'll say it again, I'd rather have myself at LB than Danny Pugh and I couldn't defend in any way possible, bit like Pugh in that aspect. He's lower end Championship level at LB, Collins is better

Wilson came to us as a midfielder with the ability to defend ......... maybe its woodys turn? (although I still think TP will play Collins)

The more I think about it the more I think Wilko is the best option. Out of all our remaining players he's the most "Higgy like" so slotting him at right back with Wilson at left back would leave the back four closer to the unit we had before Higgy's devastating news.

Terrible news. Since he's returned we've looked a transformed side defensively. We've conceded 2 and Danny has scored 2.
He's such a good organiser - I suspect his presence is good for Ryan too.
Danny Collins looks shot and Pugh didn't really work. So I'd go for Wilko - far from ideal though.
