So excited when he signed and so disapointed that Pulis had neither the will nor the way to fit him in the team.
His leaving says more about Pulis and his control freakery than it does about the player.

If I remember correctly we signed Tuncay and Huth on the same day. Who as scored the most goals for Stoke City the defender or the forward?

Pulis had no intention of replacing Tunny before sanctioning his transfer, he just wanted to get rid!
Have we now become a selling club again and now rely on short term loans? Has Pulis wasted too much money in the last year?

Tunny's rather sad time at Stoke has more to do with the manager's short comings than the players ability. This transfer does the manager no credit whatsover. Good luck to a high quality player. the likes of which we wont see again until we have a new manager. To say I am pissed off about this is an understatement

Oh well, I'm slightly pissed off but it can't have come as a fucking surprise to anyone surely? TP has done his best to push him out and has succeeded. Time to move on and hope we get someone in who can replace him comfortably. At least Dave Johnno will be happy, he fucking slated Tunny from day 1.
Cheers for the effort Tuncay and good luck.

Got a little emotional when I read his twitter post just now. One of the few cult hero's I've had in my time as a Stoke supporter and will go down alongside Hoekstra as one of the most wonderfully skilled players I've ever had the privilege of seeing in the red and white stripes. I'm finding it pretty hard to refrain from 'effing and blinding about Tone selling him to be perfectly honest, even though I know even if he'd have stayed he wouldn't have been given the game time. He wasn't a world beater, and he wasn't world class. But had such wonderful passion, played the game as it should be (with a smile on his face) and could make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when he took a man on. I'll miss you Tunch, thanks for the memories mate. Could not agree more with this.

I liked Tunny, occasional flashes of brilliance. But for me ,he generated more heat than light. I am sad to see him go,but I'd be sadder if he was 15 goals a season.

Remind me how many goals did he score for us? That many I have forgot. Thus far more than oil tanker Carew. That is absolutely brilliant ;D He's scored more goals than someone who has played less than 1/20th of the games he has ;D What an unbelievably stupid thing that is to say

And so another day in the life of SCFC begins to draw to a close. TP has managed to ditch his flirtation with flair but only time will show if he is right or not.
In the short term, the losers are those of us who saw a little bit of Waddo Stoke in Tuncay's play.
You'd better be right Tone! I for one do not want to see us getting a team out at Liverpool that has Walters in the front line with the dynamic Mama warming the bench as back up (much as, like everyone else, I see Mama as pure class as a man).
Still, I suppose there is another six hours to go...... but what a bloody farce this transfer window is.

All we needed was somebody to match the clubs valuation, thank you Mclaren Dont think it was so much the running down the tunnel as the crowd singing his name when he was sat on the bench that upset Pulis so much. He takes things like that personally and would have been standing there fuming every time it happened. Like I say, the blokes a control freak.

Tone logic:
We paid, according to the best reports at the time £5 million.
He signs for Wolfsburg for 5.2 million Euros and Tone says:
"So this is a fantastic opportunity for him, and it is a fantastic deal for the Club when you consider what we paid for him when he signed from Middlesborough.
Is it me or don't they know exchange rates in the Stoke boardroom?

Typical Pulis. He always falls out with the fans favourites. Clint Hill, Carl Hoefkens, James Beattie, Liam Lawrence. And they have all gone to big and better things.

I'm a Stoke fan not a Tuncay fan. People want Tuncay to do well ahead of the team, it's always been the case since he joined. I was really excited but ULTIMATELY he failed miserably, he was given a good run up front and proved he wasn't up to it, we have two top wingers and it's plain obvious that we've got two centre mids who don't go beyond the ball. We're the most improved team in England over the last 4 years. Team Pulis. Good luck Tunny, you're a nice bloke but can't say we'll miss you in the team. Tuncay is far from great and has flattered to deceive whenever he has played. Some excellent offerings, and plenty of nothingness as well. He has never fit in with club, other than with the supporters, but for me, he is no great loss. Getting our money back on him, which I didn't think we would do, is infinitely more preferable than giving Ric away from a fee of 3m. So long as Ric stays I really don't give a toss what this window brings in all honesty. All the best to Tunny but his influence on the team will not be missed at all. These are the two best posts on this thread by a long, long way.
