I only run 3 times a week at the moment, 6 or 7 miles at a time, but trained up for the English half marathon a couple of months ago. It was pretty lethal tonight, it was easier to run across the fields than on the paths.

Excellent stuff...Why not try the Trent & Misery tow path towards Runcorn where an extremely obese fat bloke may be waiting with messages of support & goodwill outside the 'Talbot Arms'....(Pint in hand)

Which one is the Talbot Arms, I only go as far as the Leigh Arms then go back to Cogshall? The river Weaver is freezing up near to the winnington swing bridge, must be blooming cold for that to start freezing

The Talbot Arms is the pub before the Bass factory just before you get into Runcorn on the right hand side thru Dutton opposite the garage.

I don't get the whole entry thing for the London Marathon. A mate of mine did it last year - he has no history of running and only started planning and training a few months before. Certainly not a member of any running club or anything. How did he get a spot? Or is your running club paying for it and that's why there was a draw?

The running club get 2 slots as they are UK Athletics affiliated, and I have to pay for it myself, £28. I'll be training (if the weather stays good) and will do the Lancaster 20 mile in March as a good guage of what pace I can manage on the day. 4nrs 15mins is probably a good target.

If you want a pace runner then I don't mind driving slowly some yards ahead in the Lada with my NUM and TUC stickers in the back window.

How did your 20 miler go Northwich? I did a half yesterday, I managed to knock 16 minutes off my PB so the marathon training must be working. :-) Fc

Congrats to all Stokies/Oaties who got in and good luck - hey listen why don't we do a combined thread for all board members running so posters can choose which charity to support, and I'll pin it?
