That's a great idea, I am sure we would all like to raise as much money for these charities as we can. It makes all the effort worthwhile. Fc

I am slower than you, that's for sure, I did it 2.16, but it was a hilly one. 2.48 for 20 miles is great, you could come in well under 4 hours.
I am only up to 16 miles yet, should be 18 miles this weekend and 20 after that. I only started running when TP did the London Marathon, he kinda inspired me to start, which is why I chose the same cause.

northwich, i ran round with an ipod, some people say it ruins the experience you may want to consider that
also (and my wife as usual ignored me) get a drink at every water stop even if you dont want it. just hold it sipping it til the next one - every other one is lucozade, if i did it again i would avoid the one lucozade gel pack
people can trace your progress on internet, my mrs was getting updates from her brother but ended up missing me as i was going too fast
when you pass celebs it is a great feeling and when you overtake the rhino

I don't have an ipod so that solves that one, I've tried the gel packs and they are awful so eat a 1/4 of jelly babies on the way round Yep, the water is important, I've been told for the 10 seconds it takes to take the water, you will make it up whilst running later on Can't wait now, crossing fingers we get through on Sunday and get the Saturday match

My pack arrived too, and my charity running vest with my name on it, so it all seems a lot more real now. Just worried about whether we get the Saturday or Sunday match...

we need to get a group photo or a group taxi after. I'm starting in the blue section, about the 4 hour part, will have a help the heroes running vest on, hopefully a stoke badge on it, I will be noticed by the words 'Stoke City FC' tattoed on my left upper arm ;D and number 26,854 Finish at 2, 30 minutes to rehydrate and stretch, 15 minutes to get changed and a quick taxi to wembley over a 'light' discussion yesterday evening, my lad suggested to the wife and daughter that they can get the train home if they don't want to go to Wembley - he's got a lot to learn

Good Luck Northwich and all others participating in the Marathon. xxx thanks Shell A steady 15 mile this morning, around some lovely parts of English countryside, buzzards, woodpeckers, goldfinches, daffodils and primulas out, some hawthorns starting to come out into flower, a lovely time for the first day of spring, then the rain started, at least it washed that pigeon shit off my arm, I hope the sparrowhawk I saw zooming about got him You can't beat the UK on a lovely spring morning

Will be wearing stoke baseball cap and Donna Louise vest (which is mostly white). Did my first ever 20 mile training run this morning, well just over the 20 by the time I got home. Hoping to finish the Marathon before 3pm and then on to Wembley

That's a good feeling to get that distance in, I've got the Chester 20 mile on Sunday morning, 08.30 start (from the Uni) and the clocks go forward as well, at least I'm saving plenty of money on beer and wine and chocolate, pasta is quite cheap as well

Hello fellow stokies and marathoners,
Hows everyones training going?
I've done a few 20 milers now and feeling pretty good. I managed a 1 hour 51 for the Stafford half at the weekend as well so i'm still hoping for a 4 hour 20 for London.
It's also my birthday by the way, so i don't think i could've asked for a better yet hectic day for it to be on!

looks like we'll be throwing a rope around you and getting a bit of a tow It's going well, a struggle to get kitted out and go for a run when everybody else is sitting down for tea; How hard is rice when it's dried out in the oven for an hour I nearly cracked me teeth on it

Got my running vest sorted Like it mate Good luck with the marathon Northwich and to all other stokies running it. I didn't get in this year for the 2nd year running so just think, when your just about to start the 26 mile slog, i'll be supping my first pint of what will hopefully be a memorable day ;D

that's what's annoying me, the total fookwittery of London planning or worst case coincidence scenario of my first marathon and stoke's first semi final in 39 years on the same day. I went to 71&72 but was too young to drink, 92, & 2000 enjoyed it being pissed for the weekend in London, but drove to the millenium as it was my lads first big away match. What I'd give to have a few beers before this match

The vest looks great Northwich, I will look out for you through the crowds at the start. What time do you think is a good time to get to the start on the day? I am staying in London the night before so starting to look at trains etc now to get to the start on the day.

I'm not sure Fiona, about 08.30? I've been reading the train details in the magazine they sent, We are out at Waltham Abbey, north east of London luckily I've got a mate (spurs fan) who lives near there and has offered to drop me off at a station somewhere. Can't wait now, done a 15 and 3 * 8's this week with an easy 3 miles tomorrow and 20 to come on Sunday, and feeling good I sent out my begging e-mail to all my e-mail contacts today, and got a reply back from somebody I worked with in 2007, 'see you in the blue section'

Northwich I hope it gets better soon, Ice and rest a couple of days and see how it goes I guess. At least most of the really long runs are behind you now so hopefully you can concentrate on getting that leg better. I did my last 20 miler this morning before starting to cut back a little, legs still aching now!

Getting excited and a bit nervous now. How did you get on at physio? hope it's good news. :-)
I am going down to the expo on the Thursday before as it's Easter holiday and I got cheap train tickets, hopefully a nice day in London before the madness of the weekend. Got my Wembley ticket so will be running with it hoping to get there in time.
