When has a priest ever come up to you and evangelised in your face without you having first willingly entered the church to begin with?

Believe or not, if everyone lived their lives believing in God we would be living in a far better world.
And when the time comes you'll all believe
It's just that alot of people like to act supreme

When has a priest ever come up to you and evangelised in your face without you having first willingly entered the church to begin with? In America. Those preacher cunts asking for donations on TV and making millions. They are bigger cunts than the cunts sending the money in.

I read the subject as 'there is no cod'. Although it'll only be a few years before cod become a figment in people's imagination.

Oh look, once again the atheist brigade come out evangelising and ramming their beliefs down everybody's throat. Keep your beliefs to yourself, nobody is interested. Whe Christians and Muslims stop shoving their beliefs down our throats then we might shut up.

Whe Christians and Muslims stop shoving their beliefs down our throats then we might shut up. Every single religious based thread ever started on the GDB is started by people saying there is no God. In the history of the GDB there has never ever been a single thread started by somebody trying to convert people or teach them about religion, but there's always an unprovoked, anti-religious thread started every two or three months or so. Change the fucking record. Nobody on here is trying to turn you into a Christian or a Muslim so have a bit of fucking respect and appreciate that we don't want to hear your half-arsed ideas either.

Don't come into the discussion then. The topic's about Steven Hawking anyway and the OP was suggesting Hawking had an agenda.

I know full well the thread's about Stephen Hawking, but it's been hijacked by people jumping on it to attack religion, and as a religious person, I feel obliged to stand up for myself. I'm open minded and I will happily enter an informed and adult debate about the pros and cons of religion vs atheism, but when you're trying to argue with people who make stupid nonsense claims like "there would be no war without religion" or "the world would be a better place without religion" or that "religion causes good people to do bad things" then there's not a lot you can say. Those rehashed, nonsense arguments with no reasoning are always used because it's the cool and fashionable thing to say, but they're generally used by people who don't have two brain cells to rub together and they're attacking something they don't understand in order to make themselves feel superior. Once again it's left to me arguing this corner. I don't even know if I can be arsed this time around because if you want to search for previous threads, I've usually articulated my thoughts, beliefs and criticisms in a very clear and concise way, and never really received any major rebuttle back. It seems like I've had this debate a thousand times before.

You're Religious? Of all the people on this board, you are the last person I expected to be religious in any way. Not "religious" in a typical way, but I'm open minded to mystic possibilities on a personal level. I wouldn't claim to be a conventional Christian or a champion of organised religion or whatever but I do believe that there must be more to life than this daft argument that "there just happened to be a big explosion, which just happened to create life from absolutely nothing". The least scientific thinking of all is the assumption that something exists or doesn't exist with no proof, and especially when there are massive unexplainable gaps in their own theories, and these are the people who claim to follow nothing but science.

It's no good knocking when there's no one in Boother It genuinely riles me up when people make claims like "anybody who is religious in this day and age must be a retard" without offering anything else, and when you try to argue with them they still don't respond, or even just fuck off the thread altogether.

He doesn't say he's religious, he just says criticising religion unconditionally is no better than blindly believing whatever you're told to believe. In reality, there's no way to prove or disprove the existence of a higher power, so atheists and and people with religion are equally close-minded.

I believe in a God of sorts but I think religion is a load of billy bollocks. For me it is more a personal thing, I don't think there is one power overlooking us and judging us but it comforts me to think that there may be. In my head, a God wouldn't give a fuck what religion people are, what people have done in their lives or where they're from. It's like my own God that keeps me in check and overlooks me.
Because quite frankly if God wasn't like that he'd be a cunt. ;D

I don't really buy into the evolution crap, the main reason is that it's boring. But the Bible is just full of Horse shit. I think that we are all like ants and we are contained in a glass box where a big super race of people laugh at our misfortunes.
