He deserves a good run in the team, ever since we signed him he's started on the bench.. Yet Walters starts straight away, everyone deserves a chance.

A good effort by the fans but no point in imposing ur authority on the manager and his decisions.

I really dont see whats wrong with supporters who actaully invest money in the club having a focal point to ait their contempt for a very important decision to sell one of our better players. As least we might get an explanation. So because you give the club £400 every year, you get to decide who comes and who goes?

I've no idea whether Tuncay will be sold in this window. I do know that Tuncay is one of the most exciting players we have and that he lifts the spirits of fans and players when he comes on. But I also know that he isn't a nartural "fit" into our style of play and that he misses a shocking number of chances. In fact the noticable thing about his English career is that he is NOT a prolific striker by any means. If he is sold it will most likely be so that the manager can bring in a player he thinks will take the club forward - a player who he thinks will be a better "fit" into the squad. So - what point is this petition supposed to serve? Is it likely to change the manager's mind and stop him sellin Tuncay (if he is minded to do so)? No, I don't think so. Why should it? TP didn't get where he is today (manager of an ambitious mid table Premiership club who has never been relegated) by taking advice (however well intended) from a minority of fans on a football message board. Come to think of it has any successful manager ever taken advice from a football message board? Those who think this petition will achieve anything are presumably the same small minority who think that our rise to the Premier League was all down to the threat of Hudsongods' red cards. ;D

A petition wouldn't make blind bit of difference to the current scenario with our manager and the aforementioned player. We've basically messed up on a player who would have been a Stoke City legend had we handled him in the correct manner. He was fit enough to start much earlier on in the season than he did last season and was used sparingly in games and managed poorly. If only Tony Pulis could see what Tuncay could offer this team if we were to build players around him i.e a proper central midfielder and two out and out full backs then we'd have no situation at present. Instead of us selling him, wasting money on someone like Rodellega as his replacement, we should be spending the money on evolving our style of play i.e two midfielders, two fullbacks and then judge our strikers performances afterwards. I'll be gutted when Tuncay moves as I think he's a quality, hard working player who fits exactly into our work ethic. If only he was given a chance over ten games to prove this... Agreed but its clear thats never going to happen. Transfer is the fairest option all round. I've come to the conclusion that Pulis is in a way doing the right thing by doing what he understands. I'm in no way a fan of it but its quite apparent that he does not understand proper football or footballers.

As a blueprint for success its pretty unsuccessfull.

Is it just me or does anyone else not get this Tuncay is brilliant thing? Tuncay is a very busy player, he's always on the move and looks quite exciting but when I've watched him closely he doesn't seem this world beater people make him out to be. He misses an awful lot of chances in front of goal, he could of and should of scored 6 goals in the last 2 games. That stat is repeated over the games he's played. As I've said it might be me but I don't see that much substance and end product to the effort put in. Have to say i agree with this. He just looks better than he is.

He can't live off this "he hasn't had a run of games" lark, especially against Shrewsbury where his shooting was worse than Mama's really. In fact if Mama had had a game like that people would straight at him. I think Pulis has more time for Tuncay than people think, but he came to the club with zero pre-season at Boro and a handful of sub appearances in the league. Besides a lot of effort he never really showed end product or blended with the likes of Fuller. He's good but not worth creating a divide between the fans and the manager of the club good. Having said that I thought Walters really worked well with him and might jumpstart eachothers Stoke careers.

You just have to accept that we see different things we want from football. I love flair, attacking football and you crave success at any price we're just very different, neither probably wrong just destined never to agree.

To be honest, I have no idea where the speculation comes from. But we can't sell ALL players, can we. Tuncay is one of those we should keep.
Has he ever played 90 minutes? My impression is that TP has believed Tuncay suffers from not being fit before, but said he has improved during pre season training. I don't think TP wants to sell Tuncay.

Would tp ever do it? TP doesnot even thinks about playing AM unless we r chasing a game.

I don't think we should sell Tuncay. He's a good player, with the potential to lift the crowd, and his misses are only similar to Fuller, say, who I also love, but who didn't take two fairly good chances v Spurs. In goals per minute played/chances given surely Tuncay was better last season in fact?
However, it's pretty obvious he'll be out the door, which makes me miserable, but I was miserable when we let Adam Vass go and things have gone fairly well since then I guess.
I love TP but he seems to have never really rated Tuncay, perhaps he didn't want him to sign, like those Icelanders a few years back ;D
I just pray we can get Jones fit and keep him that way - he's the nearest we will get to a superstar if we can get the most out of him.

Hense my (JUST WITH BETTER PLAYERS) quote He played Cresswell on the wing and got slaughtered for it. Mate you told jose played 4-4-1-1 but he actually played 4-2-3-1 similar to germany's formation in the world cup 2010.

A quality player! What footballing qualities does he have? ??? First touch is awful. Can't pass. Runs into people. Misses 90% of the chances that fall his way. Does not fit into our preferred style of play. Reminds me of a headless chicken. If we gave him a run of 10 games, we would be in serious relegation trouble at the end of it. Get rid. Not good enough at this level.

There are some very odd comments with regard to my petition idea. Of course I know it wont influence the manager's mind over selling a player, of course by spending £400 (In fact if you x 5 you might be right, I actually buy 3 season tickets and over the years I doubt there are not too many have spent more money that me or my company, 4 seasons renting an exec box doesn't come cheap) does not give me the'right' to choose the players we buy or sell, what complete bollox! But I do have the right to voice my opinion on how my football club is run and the decision to marginalise Tuncay in order to squeeze him out of the door in my view is one of the poorest we have seen for some time. So yes a 'Petition' may sound pathetic and pointless...but its a thread thats getting some longevitiy. TP and PC dont read this forum and why should they, but you can bet your bottom dollar the clubs limited PR machine does to gauge fans views and that will find its way back to PC. I know Tuncay is a genuine favourite with many many fans and I will not be happy that he's been forced out.

A petition? Don't be fucking soft. +1 obviously this tit wasnt around when we were struggling in the 80's with protests galore, where did it all get us? into the third tier of english football! i think tuncay is a talented footballer but i also have faith in our manager to do what is best for stoke city and it is about time some people woke up to that fact

cousindupree, can i come in your exec box one game? no pun intended.
as for Tuncay, i think he's awesome, i blew my load when i heard he signed. He's been treated poorly in my opinion though, every single premiership fan i come across asks me once i tell them i'm a stokie, why don't we play Tuncay. I've run out of excuses now.
However, he doesn't seem to work that well with Fuller, because Fuller needs a completely unselfish player alongside him, giving him the ball all the time (Mama, and from what we've seen so far Walters) he and Tunny are the same player.
If he goes, and i think he will play his last few minutes as a sub on saturday, we will be a laughing stock. "Going back to hoofball, getting rid of your only player that can pass, bla bla blah" I can hear the Arsenal et al message boards laughing from here...

You know what gnosall if I still had them I would gladly make room for you for a game. I did entertain clients occassionally but as wer were not on the Prem at the time it ended up being a perk for friends and staff.Unfortunately when I sold my company and moved to the USA the new owners in their infinite wisdom slashed the 'marketing' budget and the box went. As for the never ending debate on Tuncay. I am a big fan as you can tell. Even if he doesn't start he offers real alternatives off the bench to a plodding midfielder, centre back or target man which seem to be the 'holy trinity' for our Tone

Stokelad84 - i am saying in the grand scheme of things its hard to hold up your end of a football arguement with friends etc if we play the shittest brand of football in the league. I agree its not a popularity contest, but selling one of our ownly technically gifted players is a backwards step.
