God there are some fucking sad wankers on this board bringing back old posts to make some stupid juvenile point, I bet you even bookmark them. Come on then, bring your Soares, Tonge, Davies, Sonko and Arismendi threads back to the top - pathetic

Jesus wept, read my reply to You and the answer is there. I havent been on the board for a bit, why all the critisism of bayern? He is entitled to his opinion, a regular good poster, even if he is mostly wrong by his own admission He is right that some of the early purchases in the premiership have been a little dodgy, but others have been purely inspirational steals and they have more than made up for the poor decisions. Me and Bayern were banging our heads against the wall in disbelief in the last four windows about the right and left back positions not being adequately filled but wilko and wilson have eventuallty saved his bacon with their performances on that score. The team are playing with belief and freedom. It also appears the manager believes enough in them now to let them play but still somehow still keeping that defensive discipline. There is no doubt we are now more expansive all over the park however. Cheers JSU! I've always had faith in Wilko mind! Wilson for me has been a revelation at left back. I wasn't much for him at all in central midfield when he has played there for us but the fella looks like a left back thus far. And long may it continue. And less of the mostly stuff! ;D

i will continue to spout this as it seems no one is taking note.
tonge, soares, davies and co were bought to bulk up our paper thin squad, we were never going to attract the type of players we do now. we were very lucky with injuries in our first season, otherwise they would have been used alot more
who else did you expect us to sign?

I agree but they were still poor signings made worst by giving them long contracts on stacks of money. Did we really need to offer them 4 year contracts? I'm also glad we didn't get 2 of TP's first choices for 'keeper and centre back (Carson and Gardner). Just a bit of light hearted fishing that!

Why the bickering?? Is it a sign we are getting nervous? Bickering? Surely the whole point of these boards is a bit of friendly debate, otherwise we'd just have 'What's your favourite oatcake?' and 'Ast thee lost your brown wings?' threads. OK bicker away. ;D I'll carry on staying calm when everyone else is losing their heads

Or we could have not signed Faye and had Gardner and Sonko! ;D Why the hell did 'Castle sell Faye? He's always been decent but they swapped him for Colloccini! ;D

He does! I think the whole way we do transfers is dodgy, not just TP! He's just one cog in the wheel.
The good old "x club are difficult to deal with" always cracks me up.

At the time, it would have made sense to say that Walters was a shite signing due to the fact he hadn't really made it in the championship etc and people were entitled to that opinion based on the evidence.
As it turns out, he's proved us massively wrong, and everyone has come to accept that. I just don't see the point in bringing up threads from ages ago to try and 'get one over' on other Stokies.
Childish really.

Not sure if it was on here before, but he's in the ROI squad again:
Republic of Ireland squad: Given (Man City), Westwood (Coventry), Forde (Millwall); Dunne (Aston Villa), O'Shea (Man Utd), O'Dea (Ipswich), St Ledger (Preston), Foley (Wolves), Delaney (Ipswich), Clark (Aston Villa), Coleman (Everton), Kilbane (Huddersfield), Kelly (Fulham), McShane (Hull); McCarthy (Wigan), Whelan (Stoke), Wilson (Stoke), Gibson (Man Utd), Andrews (Blackburn), McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Fahey (Birmingham), Lawrence (Portsmouth), Treacy (Preston), Hunt (Wolves), Ward (Wolves); Keogh (Wolves), Stokes (Celtic) Folan (Colorado Rapids), Walters (Stoke), Keane (West Ham), Doyle (Wolves), Long (Reading).
Whelan, Wilson and Walters have been absolutely top class recently, and all should 100% be in the starting 11. Hopefully Trappatoni has seen Wilson's performances at LB, and surely he can't have missed Walters with 5 goals and 2 assists in the last 8 games.
I wonder if he's tempted with Pennant now too, there's no doubt he'd be a very good player for them.
