The Guardian suggests that he is settled in the North West and that he might favour a move to the Potteries over London

If we can get him fit and free from injury he would be a quality signing

Of all the players we have been linked with in the past week or so, RSC is the most difficult to judge. On the face of it he's only had a couple of good season's at Blackburn to set alongside the moderate seasons he's had before and since.
Yet, in those good times at Blackburn he really was the sort of player TP drools over - a strong target man with goals - and unlike Mama he plays up front, not behind his strike partner. I'd love TP to get him on loan - maybe a 6 month loan with an option to buy - but I expect Man City will want a straight sale even though they will take a huge loss.
If we got Remy (huge if) you'd think that an RSC in his Blackburn form would be as good a partner as we could get for him.
Squeeky bum time until the end of the month methinks!

Surely wage demands are a massive problem for us unless Citeh agree to pay most of his £90k a week

Surely wage demands are a massive problem for us unless Citeh agree to pay most of his £90k a week None of the top (big spending) clubs will want him. That leaves the middle ranking clubs like us and Fulham if he is to be sold to an English club. So if Man City want rid (to an English club) they are going to have to: a) Pay up a slice of his contract and b) Sell him for half (or less) than they paid for him.

Really wouldnt mind Santa Cruz at all. Just hoping we beat off the competition to sign him as in the past the competition worry me.

I'm very concerned about the possibility of him being so injury prone.

The "Stratford of the North Midlands" - has a certain ring to it!

I'm a big fan of the player and think, if the planets aligned, he could turn out to be a very good signing for us - that said, it would be howling-at-the-moon insanity to spunk £9m on him, given his problems with injury and form over the last few years. At the world cup he looked like a player on the brink of retirement.

The "Stratford of the North Midlands" - has a certain ring to it! Exactly my thinking If the RSC think Stoke will do better than Fulham will it be a farce, a comedy or a tragedy Knowing Stoke, it will be all three

I really don't rate him at all and at 28 you would only get 3 maybe 4 good years in him. A no brainer for me and i've seriously got my fingers crossed that he doesn't come here

No thanks In fact he has started 6 league games since his £17.5 million move, that's £2.91 million per game!!! NO CHANCE

Padders, that says a LOT more about Man City than it does about Santa Cruz.
I can't believe anyone is suggesting that he would do anything other than improve our squad

"Stoke and Fulham are both in the market for a striker but are unlikely to pay more than £8m for Santa Cruz, particularly given his persistent injury problems." SAYS IT ALL As does the picture Let's see if he is "Stoke City Fit"

I agree with Luke would be massive but I just can't see it with his wages etc, unless he's desperate to play football and take a £50K a week pay drop it won't happen.

He was never fit or good enough If he can get back fit to how he was a couple of years ago then he may be a good signing for us, but as mentioned above he looked like a player about to retire in the World Cup

as someone who saw every game he "played" for us I can confirm that you are correct , personally I would look elsewhere .

I wouldn't take too much notice about a 50k wage drop tbh. I'm certain man city will be paying a percentage of players wages who aren't even on their books when the winndow closes. They NEED to sell a shit load of players who they signed on stupid fucking money, the players won't want to take a drop in wages so the club will find themselves in the situation of either subsidising some of their wages or being lumbered with a load of players they can't use on full whack. I too am a bit worried about RSC' injuries but i wouldn't be able to stop myself being a little excited IF he did sign.

Of all the strikers we have been linked to I think RSC is the one I would be very careful splashing out a lot of money for! Didn't impress in the WC either + very injury prone. ???

Half decent striker imo has the ability to put the ball in the back of the net but alot of money for an injury prone striker.I dont think he will offer us alot either but if it comes of we shall see what happens.

Apart from just the one (fluke?) season at Blackburn, his scoring record has been pretty dreadful throughout his whole career.
Bayern couldn't wait to get him off their books where he had become something of a boo boy and Blackburn still took a big chance when paying (relatively) peanuts for him.
He's very injury prone and he looked like a player nearing retirement at this summer's World Cup.
Them's are the facts folks.
