Well this shows how small time we really are in the midlands and prem Why? cause we are conducting business on a sound footing and its not transfer deadline yet so i don't think it's panic time! Problem is we are not even rumoured to be after anyone who would be better than what we've got now. Zigic was at least someone who would get the fans believing that we were on the right track. Heskey and his like don't really fall into that category. If TP didn't reckon Zigic was good enough it will be really interesting to see who we do bring in - Heskey, Rob Hulse ?? Mouth's watering already .......

Was the fact we were after Tuncay and Huth public knowledge? just cause we don't conduct our business in the red tops it's not a reason to panic!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not that bothered we haven't signed Zigic (so long as he doesn't turn out to be brilliant anyway !) it's just that as usual nothing seems to be happening at Stoke, and probably as usual we'll have to wait until late July for any signings to occur - just frustrated I suppose !!

Just look forward to the world cup and stop panicking! i know its frustrating but all the whineing on here is really sad! have we been disapointed in transfers for the past what 4 seasons? Remember when Greenacre and Asaba were seen as good buys.

How come that every other player that we were linked with or said to be after 2 seasons ago are not good enough as we have now moved on, where as the wrist slashers are out in force because brum are looking like signing Zigic. because some muppets believe that we have moved on and can now attract the "names", whereas the so called wrist slashers can see the bigger picture and can see we have just missed out on a potentionally brilliant signing for a modest fee.

The concerning part of this is that apparently 2 years ago Valencia were too difficult to deal with and were being unreasonable with us over Zigic, but suddenly Birmingham have completed a deal with what appears to be relative ease. What's more concerning is that Zigic was a reasonable target who has gone for a relatively modest fee and we could probably have competed with Birmingham for his signature. We don't even appear to be on the radar, probably because we're chasing after Drogba to see if he fancies taking a pay cut and moving to Stoke. exactly,,, and then we rush out to waste more money on strikers that wont do the job buy a bargain in the latter stages of the window that costs money but is no improvement yet costs us money, just to replace the out-going, kitson and beattie.

If i'm honest, i'm disappointed that we haven't been in for him. Not done a great deal at Valenica but at Santander and Belgrade (I think) before he was quite prolific. His international record isn't outstanding but it's still good. As we've seen with Crouch, height is always difficult to deal with and he would be brilliant on the end of Rory's throws.
Good signing for Brum.

I trust Pulis and Coates with our club more than I would trust whats going on at Birmingham. If you chuck money around you've either got too much or it's not yours your chucking. That's either Chelsea or Pompey. I know which my moneys on.

Maierhofer has scored his goals in the German 4th tier and the Austrian Publeague though. Spanish pundits do seem to make a point of Z's apparent suitability to hoofball, as far as anyone can tell. In Pulis terms, his lack of Prem experience and lack of English is a big problem. That's fair enough. But Beattie and Kitson are both Prem-experienced and speak fluent English and look how they turned out! The problem I have is there only seems to be THREE viable English-based target men in the equation - Heskey, Fletcher and Rob Hulse, assuming we aren't going to pull a Cole/Jones-shaped rabbit out of a big baseball cap. One is Championship standard, one is being touted about at £6m after one decent season and one is a 32-year-old known (but rapidly fading) quantity who'd still cost £2-3m and £40-50k-a-week and only be of half-use to us for one season and offer zero resale. Maierhofer has scored his goals in the German 4th tier and the Austrian Publeague though. EXACTLY. I love it how people compare zigic to him, why not compare him to crouch who's giant frame has proved to be a major success at top level football for spurs and england (just the other night he provided an assist using his height.)?Spanish pundits do seem to make a point of Z's apparent suitability to hoofball, as far as anyone can tell. In Pulis terms, his lack of Prem experience and lack of English is a big problem. That's fair enough. IS IT?But Beattie and Kitson are both Prem-experienced and speak fluent English and look how they turned out! EXACTLY, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE BRITISH BASED DOESNT GUARRANTEE A SUCCESFUL SIGNING, ALL IT GUARANTEES IS INFLATED PRICES... KITSON 5M OR ZIGIC FOR 6M? HMMMMMM I WONDER.The problem I have is there only seems to be THREE viable English-based target men in the equation - Heskey, Fletcher and Rob Hulse, assuming we aren't going to pull a Cole/Jones-shaped rabbit out of a big baseball cap. Heskey, Fletcher and Rob Hulse,..... HOW EXCITING.One is Championship standard, one is being touted about at £6m after one decent season and one is a 32-year-old known (but rapidly fading) quantity who'd still cost £2-3m and £40-50k-a-week and only be of half-use to us for one season and offer zero resale. Maybe TP is just interested in other targets now MD. He gets stick on here for not 'moving-on' quickly enough from failed targets, so perhaps he is now doing just that - moving-on. Maybe, but should he really be moving on from a player who seems to be available on a pretty good deal while in the meantime we chase after rainbows before ending up with players off the 'D' list? Spot on.

If it's one term that fucks me off to high heaven it's wrist slasher. in the rose tinted terms, if you have got pulis's shit on the end of your nose after having your head so far up his arse you are a wrist slasher. how very sad these people are.

The Zigic thing will come down to two things really. 1) Who we actually sign, and 2) How he does for Blues. If we don't get a decent forward AND the Z man scores goals, there will HAVE to be some serious questions asked about why we weren't in for him (if we haven't been.) However we could all be panicing over nowt and TP has the answer to our prayers about to put pen to paper. Lets see what happens! yes, lets...

Pig head won't buy (and play) players from abroad - never mind claiming that his success justifies that position, his disasterous search for another striker to date makes it almost essential.
