I believe he is. Saturday is a big game for him. In the national media spotlight coming off a mauling at the bridge and ANOTHER spat in the dressing room.
Can he pull the prima donnas together and drag a performance out of them?

Pulis isn't under any pressure. He has a chairman that backs him and a bunch of supporters that are growing by every week.
The spats in the dressing room will see him gain more support than he loses.
After all, he is the manager that has dragged these "characters" together (many who were drifting into oblivion) and formed them into a team that has comfortably finished in mid table for two seasons running.
Shows a lot of managerial talent does that.
If we have to lose a few then so be it. They'll go back to where they came from and we'll replace them with better.

He is under pressure to get a good performance out of a team that have done brilliantly this season and have nothing to play for. They are a team who have performed when under pressure and understandably cannot compete on artistry against a team that cost hundreds of millions of pounds and get paid many more times over than our lads.
Yes he's under pressure but lets have a bit of perspective eh ?

The only pressure he should be under is how to clear the deck of dead wood and bad wood!
We have to get those leaking stories for their own gain and those we now just are not good enough if we are to stabilise. The prem is going to be stronger next season and we need to be a tight and committed unit if we are going to last a third season. Something I think the current players have lost to some degree.

Tone's got through some major pressure in the past but nothing quite like this. I can't believe for one moment he won't tough it out and I can't believe PC won't back him up - but this is one seriously unhappy dressing room we have right now and that's spilling onto the pitch, and the problems are with players Tone handpicked, not inherited (I'm remembering Hoefkens for example). That is seriously unimpressive so in terms of pressure over the next couple of weeks, couldn't agree more.

Unhappy dressing room is taking it far too far and way over the top. It's a case of one bad apple...
The only unhappy people in our dressing room are the one's that aren't getting a game or a regular game. Those that are happy are the one's who are playing regularly and those that are happy and out of the side shouldn't be in the game.
What we have here is one player with a vindictive side to his nature with a problem with this manager and is leaking out stories as and when things happen.
Get rid of that player and you solve the problem of it getting into the public domain.
The other problem is one that goes on at every other club up and down the country. It won't be solved here and it won't be solved at every other club.
It's called competitive sport whereby there are only 11 places up for grabs out of a squad of 26+. Somebody, somewhere won't be getting his nice bonus and as such, will not be happy.

But wouldn't it be interesting to be a fly on the wall in the dressing room at the moment? I expect the much-vaunted team spirit isn't quite what it was this time last season, or indeed at any other time in TP's Stoke reign. Tone may not be 'under pressure' ( yet?) but he is certainly facing situations that he's never faced before. I do have a horrible feeling that unless the dressing room issues are sorted this summer, this kind of negativity on and off the pitch could spill over into next season to detrimental effect. Tone needs not just to ship-out the key offenders, but deal with the real underlying issues that are rumbling beneath the surface. I think there is genuine frustration with an unnecessarily defensive/stifling set of tactics, and an apparent disconnect between what is said to players when they sign, and what the reality is when they get here.

Getting rid of the bad apple leaking info to the press does not necessarily mean the dressing room will suddenly become united again.
The captain should be helping Pulis in the dressing room and not be one of those causing the trouble !

All depends what reaction we get against Everton. The best managers quickly manage to get the focus back on the pitch -- we will see. It is a dressing room in a mess at the moment though.

Tone needs not just to ship-out the key offenders, but deal with the real underlying issues that are rumbling beneath the surface. Before Saturday we had the joint best away defensive record in the league alongside two of the top clubs in Europe - Man Utd and Chelsea. 7 goals against a team that have done it to two other clubs this season (one playing for a place in the Top 4), a wrongly publicised bust up in the media and all of a sudden the team spirit is not there, the dressing room is split and the manager is under the most pressure he's ever been under? Do me a favour. If the dressing room isn't as good or better than it was last year then would be down by now. You can't survive in this league with any kind of serious split in the dressing room. Look at Hull as proof of that. This is exactly why the culprit of the leak should be found and got rid of. It creates mass hysteria amongst a group of people who don't know what it's like to be inside a professional sporting environment, whereby individuals are paid massive amounts of money to do a job inside a very high pressure situation.

So far this season we've had:
Beattie Lawrence Tuncay Kitson Abdy Glenn
... involved in various incidents that have never before happened under TP (unless you could Sammy Bangoura and Karl Hoefkens I suppose). If we add Fuller and Griff to that list from last season, that's eight players in two years. I'm not convinced that this can be brushed aside.

Agreed, although I wouldn't put Glenn down as one of the bad guys - and we absolutely do have to add the Fuller/Griff incident to that list despite how well we responded on the pitch. Tone's getting something badly wrong here - doesn't mean he's not doing a hell of a lot right mind. (That is the definitive Rimmosceptic view btw ;D)

I think you can knock off Fuller/Griff and Whelan/Abdy for starters. Arguments when things aren't going well are par for the course. It shows the players we have are aggressive and up for the fight. I'd rather we have that spirit over players who smile and shake hands after a 7-0 defeat and are happy to go home with their backsides spanked, ready and prepared for the next one next week. It shows they have passion and pride in themselves, and the club they represent. I have no problem with that and if truth be told, neither does any manager up and down the country. Beattie's spat was over the Christmas party. I think that tells it's own story about that particular individual. Kitson is a tool and so is Tuncay. Both the managers signings and both his fault. He should have done his research into their characters to know what they are about. If I was the manager in both instances I would have dragged both players back and made them sit on the bench out of pure respect for their fellow professionals. For me, no argument there. Lawrence?

You've completely contradicted yourself there. H In one sense I have yes, but it's a fine dividing line between what we are discussing and how we are separating players' actions. I don't believe you can simply lump every problem player into the same basket. Some are falling out with each other and some are falling out with the manager.

Ok so you want to see players aggressive and up for a fight.
Pulis butts Beattie........That's ok Fuller slaps Griff.........That's ok it happens Faye slaps Whelan....... That's ok it happens
Tuncay and Kitson pull their face and mard off because they don't want to be taken off...................Tools and should be fucked off.
Doesn't make sense, unless it's just an attempt to cover Pulis's arse.

When Waddo was manager, the players were often fighting with each other. We had nutters like Calvin Palmer & Eddie Clamp.
I remember Pej thumping Shilts right in front of the Boothen while they were waiting for a corner. Pej broke his hand on Shilton's chin. ;D
Pulis is under NO (repeat NO) pressure whatsoever.

What i'm saying is I don't have a problem with players who fight when things aren't going well BUT I do have a problem with players who sulk when they are subbed and show disrespect by walking away. I think the difference is quite clear.

Under pressure my arse ??? Under pressure is being Brian Laws, Ian Dowie & Zola trying to keep their clubs in the £40 million a year club, two of those knowing that going down would likely result in admin. Pressure is being Rafa, Manchini or Martin O'neil fighting for 4th and having to justify the 100's of Millions spent when they don't make it. Pulis has the 100% backing of his chairman, most of the fans and all but 1 or 2 of the players. Any finish between 10th and 13th is the most any reasonable person could expect us to acheive and the football world will respect him for that. As for players falling out, I would be pissed off if after a drubbing like Sunday's the players weren't angry and pointing a few fingers at each other.
A win against Everton and they will be hugging and kissing each other again (in a non gay way ;D).
