Nah - TPs under no pressure whatsoever. One or two players might be under pressure to maintain their over inflated wage packets if they are not careful but we have a manager who has battled it out and all levels and aint going to let a few deluded souls rattle him at all.

Work mate twats workmate because of pressure at work, sacking offence.
Work mate throws strop because he is taken off job because he's not performing but feels he needed more time.

Saying that , it doesn't surprise me that the same people who ask if there is any proof of Pulis butting Beattie don't even question the reason why Tuncay or Kitson stropped off.
It's a fucking foregone conclusion in their minds.

H Football is different than in real life though isn't it? Had Fuller slapped Griff in the street, or in a "normal" place of work he'd have had a criminal record wouldn't he? Assault? You're not comparing eggs with eggs. We're not talking about Faye and Whelan the Pottery workers, we're talking about Faye and Whelan the footballers. The whole football culture accepts that players get angry and fight from time to time. The whole football culture (in this country) doesn't accept players sticking two fingers up to the manager, sulking off the park and virtually sticking two fingers up to his team mate by walking away from the game. If you want a debate on management in the real work place then I agree, no debate. Football is so far detached from the real world, in every single way, its untrue. |

Not saying his job is under threat - he has one of the safest jobs in football - something he has earned. I believe the next game is a real test of his management skills. He simply has to bring a clearly fractured squad together and get a good performance in the last home game of the season.
His management is under the spotlight after the events of Sunday, earlier in the season and last season. Like it or lump it, it's a fact.

It really was a dismal day on Sunday, one that I fear was perhaps coming towards us for some time. For me as an older stokie TP and PC have performed miracles in the last few years, which of course we are all completely grateful.
However, we are performing in the "Premier" League, one that we know so well as full of the worst kinds of excess and TWS. AKA Terrys and Coles.
This is where I believe is our suffering, ourselves and TP and PC are too good and honest people for this division, we are old skool and will never fit in with the current set-up, trouble will follow us and eventually destroy us in the form of relegation. "To move on and fit in" we will have to change as a club and as our manager and chairman. Is this what we want? To fit in? Maybe we can struggle on and the decent, hard-working players out there will join us and perhaps we can grow stronger and prosper. As a fan of many decades I would rather see an Ian Painter playing for us than an Ashley Cole. But thats me. If it means relegation in the future then bring it on but at least we are out of the moribund circus that is becoming the "Premiership" "AKA world football same teams winning everything"
