In effect he did - if his contract says that he has to leave it to the club's PR people to issue statements at times like this.
Football isn't unique in this. When I was at work my contract of employment forbade me from any interviews or statements to the media without clearing them with my employer first. Sometimes permission was granted and sometimes it wasn't - but everything had to be cleared through a press officer.

tazi, You're not really making much sense here. I see at the top of the page you're quoted as saying you wish him to never recover "mentally" from this incident followed by you talking about moral high ground further down. That's a little hypocritical of you if you don't mind me saying. You have it pointed out to you that it is almost certainly not a statement written by Ramsey but from the Arsenal PR camp (party-line).
Can you imagine TP making a statement about an incident involving one of our players only for said involved player to come out in disagreement of that statement? I can't imagine the player involved is going to exactly be in TPs, or the clubs, good books after that, can you?
In short, yes, he does have to go along with it as Arsenal are going to be the ones supporting his recuperation and getting him back to fitness. He might not agree with it but it's not worth him contradicting the statement, unfortunately.

Ramsey's still chose to have a say.

until he chooses to say that it was a 50/50 then he wont settle inside, and quite correct too i might add.

Ramsey's still chose to have a say. Not necessarily, no. If Ramsey wrote that statement I would be extremely surprised. He may have read it before it was released but no PR dept on this earth is ever going to publicly let one of its staff contradict senior management. Arsenal/Wenger have already suffered some bad press this week from several well-respected quarters; they're hardly going to heap more on themselves by making it look like there is dissent in the camp.

so ramsey states 'i remember what happened clearly, after the tackle went in i saw that my leg was broken and hanging at an angle'.
So, perhaps ramsey didn't write it but surely he said it.
Edit - And above all else he agreed to it and yet surely it must have been going around and around in his mind 'hold on a minute iv'e seen it numerous times and it's a 50/50 ball' and yet he agrees that it still gets published without that vital input.

No he might not have agreed. He may well have said exactly that but as I said, no way will Arsenal not back up the managers point of view if Ramseys comments could be seen as contradictory. Simpler just to leave any comment like that out. A PR dept does not say "Is this ok for you Aaron?", they will say, "This is what is going to be publicly released, read it so you know what's going on."

He's 19 and starting out on a career. With the best will in the world he would have to be an extraordinary character to make a statement which went against his employers advice and one which show his boss up for the twat he is.

If Arron hasn't agreed then in short and simple terms it's bullying of the highest order. Seems that Arsenal could be doing a mighty fine job of it themselves in fucking their own players head up.

Jeez tazi, you really don't want to let this lie do you?! It isn't bullying, it's about outward appearances. You're making the assumption that Ramsey doesn't have the best interests of his club at heart. I'm sure he's very proud of his club and what they represent in the world of football (wenger aside!). If you're working for a very illustrious organisation, earning spectacular money and being supported whilst you are off work due to a work-related injury then it's fair to say that you're probably not going to rock the boat (well, you might by the sounds of things! )

In the real world people will generally do as they are told if their employer pays them ridiculous amounts of cash every week. They certainly wouldn't fall out with them in public to appease somebody's conscience who broke his leg a few days before. Of course if Ryan has contacted Ramsey, which seems to be the case , then perhaps he's told him directly he doesn't blame him and all is well between them. He certainly won't care what a few annoyed Stoke fans may think and if he heard some of them singing songs about having 1 leg as he was being stretchered off i certainly can't blame him.
If he'd come out and slated Ryan then i'd have been disappointed but he's said basically nothing which is more than good enough for me, especially so close after the incident whilst he's no doubt still very upset about the whole thing.

Over reaction on the Oatcake? Never . Ryan has text Ramsey, He'll undoubtedly visit him in hospital or wherever he is, what has been said between the two will stay between the two. If he had said I blame Ryan then I'd see reason to be pissed off. Didnt he say the day after he knew Ryan wouldn't have gone in on purpose?

Tazi on a 19 year-old lad who had his leg broken last weekend: This whole incident really has made you lose your marbles hasn't it Taz. You know nothing about me potterlog so go and fookin do one. Well, yes I do tazi, I know everything about you that you post on here. Which, relating to this incident, is quite a lot. This whole point is getting skewed anyway to some kind of bizarre conclusion that Ramsey has acted "immorally". What if this actually is his statement - what if he's a bit pissed off at Shawcross for breaking his leg? I actually doubt this is true but given the circumstances I wouldn't really blame him that much if he didn't particularly feel like coming out and saying "Please stop bullying Ryan he's my bezzie and I'd like to thank him for his part in my injury". This seems to be hard for you to process at the moment tazi but your conclusions on this matter are not fact. Laying into Ramsey, calling him disgraceful and wishing his career to be affected by this is totally beyond the pale and you deserve all the backlash you get for it. Show some moderation.

Official Statement? OFFICIAL STATEMENT!? Do us a favour - the only possible meaning to put on to these 2 words is that the statement only says what the Arsenal-Wenger machine wants it to say. Who do they think they are kidding? d.

If you have a road accident in your car then your insurance company will insist that you don't admit liability in the first instance. Even if you were using your mobile phone and reversed into the other car at traffic lights, woe betide you if you admit liability until the extent of the injury/damage to the other party is clear. The same principle will be applied by Ramsey's/Arsenal's insurers here. He isn't liable but nor will he be allowed to admit that he thinks that Shawcross intended to win the ball. If he goes against the insurers advice they will drop him like a hot potato and that will serverely affect his compensation should the injury prove to be career ending. If his career is ended then his insurers will pay him big bucks. But this will not be the end of it for Ryan. As ramsey/arsholes have not told the truth about what happened his insurers will come looking for money from Stoke City/Ryan to cover their losses because there is blame to be laid.
