I wish Arron the best in relation to recovering fully physically but mentally i hope he never gets over what he's done because quite frankly its absolutely disgraceful that he hasn't done the morally correct thing and come out and cleared Ryan.
Made me more sickened than that of Wenger's comments and i never ever thought as that would have being possible. Until Aaron excuses Ryan of any blame then i hope mentally that your careers fucked youth.

That statement is not Aaron's but the Arsenal Football Club's...... TP and Ryan have spoke to Aaron and I am sure that whatever needs to have been said has been said... I am even pretty damn sure that TP and Ryan and even SCFC anticipated such a statement fron AR after cunty face's PR ballsup today as anything that even alluded to Ryan being forgiven by AR would of been fucking hugely embarrising to Arsenal FC. I take what AR as part and parcel of his loyalty to hos club and the people who will nurse him back to full fitness and not as a slant on SCFC or Ryan.... His wanker of a manager on the other hand can fuck off and die

Sure it would have been nice for him to say he can't blame Ryan for the injury, but hes the one whos come out this the worst, hes the one with months of recovery in front him from what was a potential career threatening injury. It might be difficult to exonerate thim at the moment as hes all fucked up mentally. But I would have been very surprised if Ramsey came out and contradicted the opinions of his manager.
You can take his final comment a number of ways "I have seen images of the aftermath of the collision but I don't want to dwell too much on the challenge as I can't change what has happened". Maybe he agrees with his manager and thinks it was a bad challenge? Maybe he hasnt seen the collision again? His lack of comment on it can easily be seen as a negative though. I'm sure in time we will hear something from him.
In the meantime, pretty much every other independant opinion has been that it was an accident. Wenger has made himself look a dick this week, todays press conference when the reporter mentioned the Gallas tackle vs Bolton, Wenger just dismissed it and went into a rant about players meaning to break legs (surely thats libellous). Clearly the Gallas challenge was a far worse challenge that luckily resulted in no major injury.. But I dont think that Wenger realised the reporter was having a dig. Also read Wengers statement about tackling with studs up and not keeping you eye on the ball, then watch the tackle with Ryan and Ramsey. Its as plain as day that hes contradicting himself and judging the tackle on the resulting unfortunate injury is totally wrong. Like I said its no surprise that Ramsey hasnt contadicted him, otherwise he'd make his manager look an even bigger nob and hes doing a good job of that himself.

No mention of Ryan's remorse, No mention of the lack of malice or intent. No mention of Ryan's texts or attempts to visit him. This statement was drafted by lawyers with the sole aim of keeping alive a legal attack in the unfortunate event that Ramsey finds he can't get back into an Arsenal team that he's played for a dozen times. A cynical but unsurprising statement. Twat. my thoughts exactly. the legalese stands out a mile.

I think you need to take a step back from this issue tazi. That's pretty unnecessary and nasty stuff towards a lad who's world has just caved in and doesn't know which way is up. You don't even know what was said in the communications between the two for goodness sake. I only mention it because it seems out of character to be so vindictive.

Ramsey is a complete knob imo. He is the one person who could have got Ryan completely exonerated by admitting to his own contribution to the "accident". Instead he decides to hide behind his appreciation of Glen and Stoke City. I did have sympathy for him last weekend but not anymore....he is just another piece of arsenal shit and a complete turd imo. But not a big as knob as you mate. 19 year old lad has his leg shattered and must have his head in a spin wondering if he is going to play again. Knuckle dragging morons like you expect him to come out with words supporting the bloke who did it. YES IT WAS A FREAK ACCIDENT but the lad wouldn't be human if he didn't have a bad thought about the perpetrator of the challenge. On the whole I think it is good statement from the lad who wants to put the incident behind him and concentrate on getting fit again. Cue some moronic fuckwitted bellend saying his leg was broken before the tackle or it was his own fault. Crap. All ramsey needed to say was along the lines of " Ryan was in no way to blame for this incident. We both went cleanly for the same ball which resulted in my broken leg." End of, Ryan is vindicated and the incident can be laid to rest. Nobody is asking for an apology from anybody. Just a truthful statement describing what really happened. Not that we need it because the slomo video and pictures paint the picture.

It was not coincidence that his statement was released after Wenger's press conference. He was never going to exonerate Ryan in his press release the very same day that his cunt of a manager refused to apologise. It would have been too embarrassing for the Anals

He hasnt blamed Ryan on that statement. Just said it was a collision and maybe he dosnt want to be seen as agreeing with Wenger and probably dosn't if what TP said about being in contact with him. Seems that whoever drafted this for him was going to be very careful about what was said.

Hang on guys
surely it's what he hasn't said that is more interesting......
he certainly hasn't backed up what Wenger said has he??
this is their version of a back down without it seeming so obvious........
they can't go the whole hog due to Wenger totally losing face, BUT, neither can they continue with the vitriol in Ryan's direction ......
this is the best we will get from the Gooners I am afraid, but it speaks volumes IMHO

This is a club statement...pure and simple. Perhaps more illuminating is a statement from his best friend Chris Gunter who is from Newport and was quoted in the South Wales Argus a couple of days ago. WALES star Chris Gunter admits he’s distraught over the sickening injury to best pal Aaron Ramsey, but is hoping for a double boost to lift his gloom, promotion for Nottingham Forest and for home town club Newport County. Gunter visited best pal and former flatmate Ramsey yesterday, having spoken to him each day since the horrific injury Rambo suffered at Stoke’s Brittania Stadium last weekend. And despite being confident that Ramsey is on the road to recovery, Gunter admits he can’t bear to watch the incident that led to his pal’s agony. “We’ve all been thinking about Rambo, it’s been a tough few games and he will get back to the level where he was, there is no doubt about that in my mind. “He’s coping well, I speak to him every day and have told him he’s got to be ok, he’s a little bit down and in shock, but his family are helping him and knowing him, he’ll walk out of hospital. “He’ll come back even stronger, but it wasn’t nice hearing about it at the weekend and I still haven’t seen the incident. I don’t want to watch it, I don’t want to see any pictures of it either, though by all accounts it wasn’t a malicious tackle.” www.southwalesargus.co.uk/sport/5043782.I_m_backing_the_County___Gunter/Now if he has spoken to him every day and Ramsay thought it was in any way malicious I don't somehow see Gunter making that statement. There will be lawyers and PR people galore at the club both protecting Ramsays future interests if the worst thing possible happensd to him in terms of his recovery and ensuring Wenger isn't contradicted from within his own club. Ramsay will have had very little input.

Very disapppointing although not unexpected.
On the one hand he is a young lad who after clear pressure from his club has made a statmement to back up his weirdo of a manager, so we can't blame him too much.
On the other hand he is 19 and a grown man and when I was his age I'd like to think that I would have enough backbone to say that after watching the tape it's clear that it was just an accident.
Oh well, I guess the saddest thing about it all is that it is now going to rumble on instead of being killed stone dead by Ramsey's statement and that is a great shame.

Sorry mate but i do have an opinion and my opinion is that Ramsey comes out with no mention of Ryan in relation to not so much of a mention that there was no malice in the tackle and yet you come on here lambasting me which i find totally unnecceasary. Get over physically - Yes i pray that he does but for it to play on his mind that he didn't take the opportunity in excusing Ryan of anything malicious then yes i hope it plays heavily on his mind. Lastly, yes you're correct i dont know what was said between the two of them and quite frankly until Ramsey come out publicly and says that it wasn't malicious then ALL we will know is that he didn't excuse Ryan one little iota. Even before i spoke to Ryan yesterday his body language was that of it having a big effect on him and i suppose that'll remain the same until Ramsey himself excuses him publicly. It's a disgraceful piece by Ramsey which gets read by the whole of the world an absolute disgrace.

If you have a road accident in your car then your insurance company will insist that you don't admit liability in the first instance. Even if you were using your mobile phone and reversed into the other car at traffic lights, woe betide you if you admit liability until the extent of the injury/damage to the other party is clear.
The same principle will be applied by Ramsey's/Arsenal's insurers here. He isn't liable but nor will he be allowed to admit that he thinks that Shawcross intended to win the ball. If he goes against the insurers advice they will drop him like a hot potato and that will serverely affect his compensation should the injury prove to be career ending.

Taz, mate, take a step back and take account of what the other guys are saying. Even if Ramsey wanted to, I doubt they would let him. Also, take into account his mental state at the moment. The lad hasn't had enough time to reflect properly on all this. In fact, I would think he's overwhelmed by it all. He's only a kid when all is said and done and will have to do as he's told. If you really want to vent your spleen, then do it against Arsenal FC because they will be entirely responsible for that OFFICIAL statement. In the fullness of time, I reckon Ramsey will absolve Ryan. OS.

Exactly mate which was why he shouldn't have let this side of events to be made public because same as you've said the lad hasn't had enough time to reflect properly on all of this. He's certain his lag snapped after Ryan's challenge though because same as he say's he remembers it clearly so done expect him to absolve Ryan at all. A simple 50/50 ball would have sufficed.

Tazi - if Arsenal wrote and released that statement (which I am sure they did) then Ramsey has no realistic choice but to go along with it. See my post above on his and the club's insurers. Like it or not the men in suits are in the driving seat on this because Ramsey's future career is in their hands.

Post by tazi on Mar 6, 2010 13:21:44 GMT
He didn't have to go along with it though did he?.
One voice tells him 'dare not go against my bosses thoughts' and the other voice tells him 'i could do the morrally correct thing'. Unfortunately he chose the former. He could have chose differently but he chose not to even state that it was a 50/50 so please dont excuse Ramseys actions as though he had no choice in it.
