I;ve thought about this poor bloke and his family alot today....He only went to support his team FFS and to be honest ive also spared a thought for the lad who is alleged to have committed the offence...I bet he is devastated!!...one life lost and another in tatters ........RIP

What happened then, Craig? I've been told two versions mate.. He told me this. what happened was fans in the concourse were throwing bottles all over the place, one guy got pissed off with it for what ever reason and threw the bin, it hit john on the back of the head knockin him to the ground which put him on conceous. there was a rovers fan called fran who was a nurse who looked after him on the floor. the guy who threw the bin and john didn't know each other. don't know if its even the right person who the police have. he later had a brain hemerage which caused his death. from the impact of the bin hitting the softest part of the skull. its one rovers fan who is at fault, and alot of people hope he is caught and go to prison because we never have trouble like this, ever, and it just gives bad names to football in general.

Thats more or less what I've been told plus he had a heart-attack too, bought on by the shock of the bin hitting him...Another version was that he'd tried to head the bin which was being chucked around...Walsall fans did it years ago mate and nearly killed a girl working in the tea bar... Not sure why the Stewards are there..Just to watch? Hope lessons have been learnt from this tradegy..but I doubt it

cant believe it, its terrible news really sad. 7.42am - radio stoke have just said "its believed he was hit on the head with a bin" people lives changed forever due to a moment of madness. Completely agree ):

Its amazing to think theat the Police control room was literally directly above where this happened.
What were the Stewards doing? If it was getting out of hand, why weren't the Police called?
