This really is a sad day for football and no words from me can alleviate the grief that this guy's family and friends will now be feeling. Hopefully the truth of what happened will come out and they can have some form of "closure". In the meantime, my sincere condolences to this man's family. Scant consolation, but when he passed away he was doing something he, and we, all love...watching his favourite team play on a Saturday afternoon.
Rest in peace young man.

Just shows how stupid football can kind of be, as much as we love our teams, is there any need for violence? what does violence show in the football club,

Horrible news to have on such a good day for our club with a big win, Pulis' 300th game etc...
But when something like this happens it really does put it all into perspective.
RIP to the guy who seems like he was a really nice guy and that. Regards and sympathy to his family and friends.

Craig there are some right twats who've left disgusting comments on that group, aside from the 98% true fans offering condolences, there's one by "Jack Neill" which should have him banned from facebook R.I.P John Taylor

I've been trying all day to follow the news and developments, to try and understand exactly what happened here and how. The general view is someone lobbed a bin, it hit an innocent person, and we have a truly tragic death of a young man and father. This is a deeply shocking, and an awful, event. To John Taylor, RIP. To his family and friends, my heartfelt condolences.

There was, apparently, some fighting amongst Blackburn fans, some of whom started chucking a bin around...not unusual for away fans under The South Stand....Walsall started the trend years ago..smashing the place up and terrorising the young girls who serve tea/snacks....Cardiff and Milwall did similar things...Man Utd fans just did the same as everyone else...
It may or may not be the place to say it but I feel really sorry for those people from Stoke on Trent who are subject to verbal and sometimes physical abuse, just for working behind a snack bar for a pittance....when a set of away fans cannot hold their ale and decide to smash the place up 'for a laugh'...then post it on YouTube..
Well they're not laughing now are they?
An accident waiting for somewhere to happen..
Very very sad

Got chatting to a Blackburn fan after the match on the way out of the ground and having a bit of banter with him and then he told me what had happened at half time, I went from a massive high to total speech. I had my 10 year son with me how the hell do you explain that? My deepest smypathy goes out to all his family and friends

To think it happened only a matter of yards from the pitch. It really is shocking, and something I am struggling to get my head around. Another fan basically killing another fan during half time.
A very, very sad day for both Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
