Wizzard, my thoughts exactly. Some "lads" think it makes them look super hard to come to Stoke, smash up the concourse and then post on to You Tube, rather than tell us to sit down maybe the club and security should be a bit more alert to problems like these with away supporters.
I have been watching stoke all through the 70s and 80s and saw some terrible violence at scale, some people did get seriously hurt, but this is the first death I am aware of involving a football supporter at a stoke game in 40 years.I feel desperatly sad and the club will need to have an inquiry to identify why intervention didnt occur as soon as it kicked off ( assuming it didnt)

posted on a Blackburn forum
I knew Him, he was the boyfriend of my family member, i can't bring myself to ring my family member because i'm too cut up about it and wouldn't know what to say to her.
He leaves a young son and has 3 brothers
He was a passionate rovers supporter and loved going down to ewood with his brothers when they could all get together
Can we have some respect and stop the squabbling about whats right and wrong on this thread and keep the messages to wishing his family well
R.I.P xx
brings it home.......

What sad news
The Blackburn lads are all proper footy fans - not in it for the 'glory' - those days were long gone. Spoke to a few before the game and they are just like us - mad for their club, passionate and loyal.
RIP to lad who died and condolences to his family - Be proud he was a Rover

Not sure I agree with you Mattofstoke, if you want to offer condolences post on the Blackburn Board- people who know him will more likely read it there. The thread is not entitled " Book of condolences". I for one am concerned that some one has died at our ground, and im entitled to ask if we can prevent it happening again.

(my niece used to work behind the snack-bar but the threat of constant abuse/violence as Stewards stood there and watched...frightened her so much she left) Really big and hard to terrify young girls serving pies and tea...then posting it on 'youTube'..."Guess what I did today"... 2)Why are Stewards, apparently, as unnacountable as some of the fans they are supposed to be supervising? 2) Why do grown men think its funny to get blind drunk and throw bottles and bins around at each other? What sort of culture breeds this type of attitude/behaviour? We're not talking young men here either..some blokes are in their forties and fifties The only thing that surprises me Durban is that there hasn't been a lot more people dying at games...

Very sad news, condolences to the family.
I take my 6 and 8 year old girls to watch our beloved Stoke every week, to think that someone could die at our ground is beyond belief, and makes you feel numb.

Our prayers are with the guy's friends and family.
Unfortunately, I suspect SCFC will have questions to answer. Fans are supposed to be safe in our football grounds.

No disrespect..but how many times have away fans attemted to smash up the concourse under The South Stand...then post it on 'YouTube' ? A great laugh eh...until something like this happens and someone gets killed.. And lets not forget that our fans do the same sometimes...I've seen bins being chucked around in The Boothen that could have had similar consequences That said...my deepest condolensces to this man and his family.. Sir Stan must be looking down and wondering what went wrong... As already mentioned this happens quite often in the Boothen concourse amonst stoke fans and i know a few people who don't bother coming down now at half time. This just goes show that what seems like harmless fun is most certainly not. RIP and our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man.
