I still donÂ’t think itÂ’s that clear cut. Squads can be split up into different categories of players: - Prized assets Important first team players Fringe players Squad cover/back up Michael Tonge Just because some of the fringe players/squad cover get offered new contracts, it doesnÂ’t mean the Management value them over the FullerÂ’s of this world. I don't think anyone is suggesting they do, Tom. All that is being said is that there were players who in all honesty didn't deserve extensions who got them and that they are on more money than some would have you believe.

One question to you all.....
Would the current Stoke City squad be;
a) better with Ricardo Fuller, on a 12 month contact, on sensible money, with a view to potentially doing some coaching/working in the community. This is what was on offer to Rory and Diao was offered a coaching contract only
or,
b) better off without Ricardo Fuller because he was lazy, greedy, past it, blah, blah, blah.....

He is never going to play for us again.
He wanted a 12 month deal but don't think that will happen now.

I very much doubt Ric will go into coaching or community work when his time as a footballer runs out.

Whatever you think of Ric, it is a sad end to his Stoke career, which from the perspective of him, the fans and more importantly the club was absolutely priceless. His contribution to getting us in the Prem & keeping us up is immeasurable - to see the likes of deadwood like Sidibe & Diao get new contracts & weekly blowjobs off Pulis while Ric leaves under a cloud is pretty shit IMO.
All the best Ric, thanks for the memories.

Some Charlton fans on their site are complaining about it !! They are clearly mental I'm not surprised. After all, for him to even entertain the notion of signing for them they'd have to be paying him at least £55k per week.

Clearly money has been first and foremost on Ric's mind and he was obviously holding out for Charlton to come in with a late bid. If anyone was in any doubt as to whether or not we offered him a deal, his supposed move to the Addicks should tell you everything you need to know and make a few people on here look very silly indeed.

I think this move speaks volumes - about a lot of things.
So long Ric, it was fun.

Sad to see him play for another English team.
Still, at least it'll make the odd Sky Championship game interesting.

I'm glad if it happens he's going to a 'nice' club. I hated the thought of him at Leeds.

RIP RF10
Charlton are now my 2nd favourite team.
34 years, home and away, the most entertaining, electric player I've seen in a Stoke shirt.
He scored goals I'll remember in 40 years time.
Best of luck.

Best of luck. Same here. When the modern history of Stoke is written up, he'll go down as a pretty special player. It's been an absolute pleasure to have him here for 6 years.

A modern day Stoke City hero who was worth the entrance fee alone. Pure class.

6 years of RF10 as been a total joy and I have no doubt "his song" will be sung in the pubs and on the terraces for many a year to come.
