Agendas….it’s a shit notion not based in any fact. Why do people use it as an argument? My only agenda is to watch a team that will get promoted. I couldn’t care if MoN is dignified, he’s a terrible football manager who is harming this football club. Not on purpose and he’s trying not to but he is. Supporting that isn’t wanting your club to do well. Have you ever enjoyed it and been content with Stoke? Like when we had Bojan / Arni / Shaq / Afellay and were beating MCFC / Arsenal etc? I know Celtic fans who still moaned when they won the league, and United fans in the Ferguson era who found things to moan about. It was baffling to me. As a Stoke fan, I take our highs very high and our lows with some sensible levels of frustration and disappointment. But I never get angry or exasperated (Nathan Jones pushed me on that) because we’re Stoke and we are not ever going to find perfection. And I’m cool with that. I love being a Stoke fan. I'm with you! When we win, it's a super high and when we lose, careful damage control. I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be a ManU, Chelsea or ManC fan. Take the FA Cup final for instance. For us it was a fantastic high just being there. A little frustrating we didn't make more of a fight of it, but for ManC fans it must have been more a feeling of relief they weren't beaten rather than ecstasy at winning the cup. Wouldn't trade being a Stoke fan for anything!

What is the alternative to supporting them though? Have you tried supporting another team? Having lived in Derby and Nottingham I tried to convert to both and ended up hating them. There is no point in going to matches and not supporting either, you always want them to win and jump off your seat when they score. I am pretty sure that the Coates family aren't a bit bothered about individual fans not feeling the team aren't worth supporting under MON so as long as he remains dignified (unlike Rowett) and seems to have the players on side (unlike Jones) then they will back him at least for another season and I'd rather support them through that rather than being grumpy. I can never understand why 'happy clappers' are scorned far more than misery guts who can't enjoy good moments because they feel they have to stick to their agendas. Same reason the neggos were putting out 1 win in 12 a couple of weeks ago. But isn't 3 wins out of 4 something to be pleased about? The 3 out of 4 is also 3 out of 14 , all depends on the rose coloured specs I suppose I'd rather wear Rose colored specs than the black ones you're wearing that don't allow you to see anything! If you're going to use some arbitrary number of games in order to make MON look bad, at least do it right and stick to the facts - it's 4 out of 14. But in reality, the only thing that counts is we have won 15, drawn 10 and lost 16. Not wonderful, but not the end of the world either.

No he doesn't, and more importantly, won't. Little leadership. No effective conditioning of players’ fitness. Awful record in the transfer market. Relegation form for the majority of the last two seasons. I disagree fundamentally with you. Whew! Thank goodness for that. I'd absolutely hate the person who predicted we would be relegated from the Prem for 10 years in a row to be agreeing with me. Like I said above. Keep going. Sooner or later you will be rewarded with the sight of MON leaving and you can claim "victory". Lucky you have a track record of being patient and making the same mistake over and over.

Make up your mind. Moron or tool? Sorry you're so angry that we won. Nobody is angry that we've won. That we've won however doesn't change the fact that we have a manager who is incredibly unlikely to take us any further. That's the point that many people are making and the point that you're either willfully missing or are too stupid to comprehend. And there is a counterpoint that many are making and that you are either willfully missing or are too stupid to comprehend. MON has taken us from a bunch of "not fit to wear the shirt" sleepwalking to relegation misfits to an outfit that everyone, including me, feels should have done better this season. In your rush to lay blame, you're willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater and start over AGAIN. Calmer, wiser heads recognize the incredible improvement that has been made and the fact that we are a few small tweaks away from being a very good team. We are willing trust the person who built this team to do the tweaks rather than throw everything away and start again (which we can't really afford). The fact that we have only lost ONE league game by more than a solitary goal while winning EIGHT games by 2 or more goals says something about the team and its manager! In my opinion you choose to support a short sighted and ultimately negative approach while I choose to support an approach that builds on what we have. Fortunately, the owners seem to have calmer and wiser heads also. So if you get your kicks ranting and raving about how shit the team you support is, go right ahead. I enjoy following Stoke and am going to take one of the previous posters advice and leave you to continue posting on this glorious thread until it's 900 pages long. After all, sooner or later MON will leave, and then you can claim "victory". Enjoy!

It takes one to know one. It's equally frustrating to hear people blarting on and on and on and on and on and on about something that clearly is not going to happen. MON is going nowhere. Suck it up and enjoy supporting our team which includes the first reaction to a great win being unbridled joy, not feigned frustration in the hope of getting someone fired. You sticking your tongue out at me now and singing na na, nana na ? What a tool Make up your mind. Moron or tool? Sorry you're so angry that we won.

When performances really mattered over Christmas and the new year we crumbled, mostly in part to bad management. That's what I would be looking at if I was the board, not a flurry of good results at the end of the season when nothing to play for. How do you know it was "mostly bad management"? Do you know everything that goes on behind closed doors?

If it was ever in doubt that these players are not playing for the manager then that myth has been dispelled with those 9 points out of 12.Let’s hope we can continue to end the season with a few more wins👍 Why are we championing 3 wins out of 4? What about the other 37 games these so called ‘professionals’ have bothered to turn up at ? A win is a win but don’t start lauding them up…..they’ve got a LOT to make up for Same reason the neggos were putting out 1 win in 12 a couple of weeks ago. You're frustrated that we won?? Give your head a wobble and think about who you allegedly support. You really are a moron - of course it’s frustrating to see how well these players *can* perform against a team that’s just beaten the top two - its frustrating that this manager can’t get this sort of performance out of them more frequently. To feel this way does not diminish someones support for their team. You need to wobble your own daft head for being so puerile. It takes one to know one. It's equally frustrating to hear people blarting on and on and on and on and on and on about something that clearly is not going to happen. MON is going nowhere. Instead of flying straight to insults, try reading his post again. The general theme is that MON is not good enough. He doesn't comment on this one win but rather "These wins" which leads to a logical conclusion that he is frustrated we win because it (in his fantasy scenario) postpones MON leaving. Instead of flying straight to the defence of an under performing manager and attacking anyone who dares question his approach, often willfully misinterpreting peoples posts in order to go up against posters in a misguided adversarial fashion, try some critical thinking and refrain from slapping down anyone who doesn't 100% agree with your reading of the situation. If you're happy with mediocrity and a manager who has shown no evidence of his ability to take us further then that's your lookout. In continually berating those who are concerned with the direction of travel under MON and failing to recognise his shortcomings though you just come across as a vapid berk desperate to shut down any debate. Ditto. Have at it, I hope you're happy this time next year still ranting about MON out. I know I'm going to have a year ahead of supporting the team and enjoying EVERY win and lamenting every loss.

Arsenal just lost at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. It happens. After the absolute meltdown we experienced following relegation, If it wasn't for MON we'd be plying our trade in League 1 or 2. Then you'd be able to justifiably say we are being "ruined". As it is, MON is the one who has stopped us from looking down in fear and put us in a position where we are looking up in hope. Everything in this post - everything! - has absolutely 0 relation to anything that has been said in this thread. What have Arsenal got to do with anything? What has MON keeping us up two years ago (which showed one thing and one thing only .... we had a decent squad) got to do with the current? What has looking up in hope got to do with getting three points from ... Birmingham, Luton, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Barnsley, Peterborough and Cardiff? Err.... Do you speak English. The thread is some demented rant about firing O'Neill. MON saved us from relegation (good squad , my arse; remember "you're not fit to wear the shirt"?) - Relevant. MON has rebuilt us into a team that isn't pre-occupied with avoiding relegation but looking to move up - Relevant. You complain about losing to a lower team and then beating a higher team; the Arsenal example simply shows it's not an uncommon event - Relevant. What has no relevance whatsoever is ... MON is not going anywhere anytime soon. Suck it up and enjoy supporting your team!

You're frustrated that we won?? Give your head a wobble and think about who you allegedly support. Frustrated that we've beaten West Brom and in the process played a good game of football, but lost to Reading midweek in a game full of pure dross. And apart from the two wins before that, a capitulation that started with the Forest last minute equalizer and saw us pick up 3 points against ... *check notes* Birmingham, Luton, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Barnsley, Peterborough and Cardiff. Frustrated? Absolutely. I support Stoke, mate. That's probably why I'm a bit fed up of this negative shite. Inconsistency is ruining us. Arsenal just lost at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. It happens. After the absolute meltdown we experienced following relegation, If it wasn't for MON we'd be plying our trade in League 1 or 2. These wins make it all the more frustrating. The fact a league double over West Brom has us both sitting in midtable is testament to how far we've both fallen. We're a good team hindered by inconsistency. And a lot of the time MON is the architect of that. Losing to Reading midweek and then beating WBA. 3 points is all it is. Not good enough unfortunately. You're frustrated that we won?? Give your head a wobble and think about who you allegedly support.

Your embarassing repetitive baseless defence of MON and his "achievements" have probably made this thread 25% longer than it would have been. Why do you keep coming back here? Because I support Stoke? Why so angry? Are you upset that today's win makes it even more cloud cuckoo land to expect MON to be asked to leave?

Yes please! A 149 page embarrassment to the fans of Stoke City. An interesting point to debate on a social media platform with mainly reasonable points being made on both sides An hypothetical event that is not going to occur with the exact same arguments repeated for 149 pages with"fans" stating they hope the club they support loses so it somehow in their minds proves their point? Are you the guy in the local pub that all the other locals know not to sit next to or else they will be treated to another 8 hour rendition of the same "debate" that they have already heard 149 times? Sorry, I thought the message board was to discuss events surrounding Stoke City, not some wishful thinking of a few people who seem to hate the current manager of Stoke City regardless of who that might be.

No reason rental costs shouldn't count towards P&S- you can't book a large profit on disposal and it remain cost free thereafter- not just you, any club. Kieran Maguire intimated a while back well before this transaction that in the event of a peppercorn or daft rent, the EFL would push back and seek out a Fair Rent for P&S purposes and substitute it in- this was in 2019 when Hillsborough appeared to show no rent after SWFC sold it. Whether it's paper or real I am not bothered but it is definitely an Operating Expense and not listed among the excludable items. In a sense it doesn't matter if the rent is cash or not- not to me anyway or if it's loaned and paid back and a money-go-round, so long as it's there for P&S purposes included within the costs then paper or real I couldn't care less. Through Profit and Loss not Loans or similar- rent as an Operating Expense and included within the Profit and Loss, the FFP calcs then whatever form beyond that doesn't concern me at all. Why should it bother you? why should it matter to you? Why should it concern you? Are you FFP? Lol, ey its ok mate, I'm guessing you just want a level playing field. Ah well, as you were, crack on mate. I haven't got a fucking clue about financial shit anyway 😅 The real problem is there is no one else on the Bristol City message board, so he roams the internet searching for someone to talk to. I keep telling him/her to change their username.... Perhaps BristolShittyRestInPeace would be a more apt moniker?

I don't see how anybody can write that without acknowledging what a disaster FFP is for anybody except rules pedants. Look at who is being demonised: the Coates family, Mel Morris, Steve Gibson. All local, well meaning owners whose only interest is the success of their club and who have shown their willingness to meaningfully support the club's spending time and time again by debt write offs etc. You're putting them up there with some blood soaked dictator who buys a football as part of a sportswashing project. It's completely back to front. It's PL2 by the back door. It needs to end. You probably won't agree but I'd add Steve Lansdown as relatively local to that list. I actually think that at a European level ie Euro competition level the rules have had some merit but the Parachute Payments make it exceedingly contradictory at our level- that plus the higher loss limit- and I am not but a Reading fan I read was. Or a Barnsley fan, it's on a Barnsley forum I think. It's an unworthy comparison. Coates family as John Percy put in an article "one of the best local owners in the game". Or words to that effect. I get pretty passionate about FFP and can be quite ott but at the same time I am full on about enforcement- including my own club as it stands we won't be spending this summer, might have to sell a player or gain some sell on clauses to spend a bit. Those are the rules but as long as they're equally enforced for all. I am sure other clubs might be pushing the EFL hard about Stoke e.g. and rightly so. Holy cow! Are you still wondering around other club's message boards? Does Bristol Shitty have a fans forum? If not, I suggest you start one and then the 3 of you can delight yourselves by exchanging thoughts about your own club.

Jokker's post makes sense. Its a pity we had to sell Nathan Collins, look what a good steady job he is doing at Burnley, but it was deemed we needed the money to balance the books - Not MON decision but from above. With Souter injured that made a big hole in our defense. No Campbell for most of the season and lets face it he's not back to his usual self. Brown has been promoted to our main striker and unfortunately he is not a striker and has so many basic faults he was never going to be a Campbell replacement, and never will. Powell has to be the biggest disappointment of the season and there you have players that could have should have put us at least in the play offs. MON is dabbling in the loan market but players own motivations are not there in all the players. Maybe wage differences ego's personalities have affected the dressing room. I have heard there have been Toxic dressing rooms after games where there should be a harmonious one. This seasons gone and no matter who says what on this Forum the Board will back MON for next season - but if its not going really well by end of October they will replace him. Shows how fucking hopless they are at running the club then doesn't it that they could go into a season with complete faith without any real evidence to support it then have completely lost that faith by October unless things are going really well it's fuckwittery of the highest order. They wouldn't be going in with "complete faith" though would they? It would be more a case of we think you can do the business and are willing to give you another crack, but will be watching closely.
