I think SJW is a great appointment for the club, we are clearly a conundrum to many mangers, the support and insight in to what makes this club tick can be learnt so much faster from those who have gone before and succeeded. SJW can help Schuey galvanise the squad and get them to understand our underdog mentality. Get the fighting spirit back into the club and recognise the right type of player we need to bring in, and not just sign anyone in a blind panic.

Absolutely agree with you 100% ….verbal abuse is never acceptable, particularly when it gets personal and threatening. We are all Stokie supporters and I’d like to think we stand together as one. We don’t always agree and we are entitled to our opinions and they may differ at times, but let’s not start fighting amongst ourselves. I’ve always felt that as Stoke supporters we’ve got each others backs, and the trials and tribulations of watching our mighty club can drive you bonkers at times, but because we endure the highs and lows together we are united somehow and whilst we may crack a few jokes amongst ourselves at our predicament, if any supporter of another team cracks a joke at our expense, I will always give’ em an earful …..no fisticuffs mind. I am just a person who supports stoke city, but when we are all together singing I am part of one of the best group of fans in the world and damn proud of it (Even if we are a bit shit at times). If you have a media profile then abuse is part of the job. Don’t think it’s right either, but that’s the way it is. If you go onto the radio, or even put your comments out there on a website such as this, you could well cop it. Anyone who doesn’t understand or accept this shouldn’t be in that game. As I said, I don’t agree with it, but seems to be the way things are, and in the age of social media, it’s getting worse because so many more people can anonymously gob off. I get your point, but this is local radio and I like to think it’s Stokies listening to radio Stoke, we are not talking Gary Lineker spouting bollox even then personal abuse isn’t Justified. When we were in the prem, we were looked down on by many, and boy did it feel good to beat some of the hierarchy (Wenger in particular) if you watched match of the day back then it was obvious what the pundits thought of us ….they couldn’t wait to stick the proverbial boot in , I like to think that made us stronger and united us as fans . Just because it seems the way of social media doesn’t mean we have to roll over and accept it, those who feel the need to gob off anonymously should feel the force of a united fan base standing together, let’s not be sheep eh?

I think he’s doing a good job….he’s definitely improving all the time. I think it’s one of the hardest gigs to do on radio, trying to give a continual narrative of a match ain’t easy. I’m sure if there were massive silences when nothing much was happening, people would moan …..in those moments what do want the guy to say ? I think we should be less critical …let’s face it big Nige was always going to be a hard act to follow….the guy was a legend..

It was obvious they realised they'd dropped a bollock when they withdrew the tweet. People make mistakes. Absolutely this potterlog, nothing more than a mistake. Definitely nothing sinister intended by the timing of the release of the clipped quotes from the podcast that isnt a podcast by any person or organisation, sure of that. & certainly no-one meaningfully to cause anyone any harm be it to the club, player, podcast participants or fans in general. Sadly it caused an out of context reaction which inevitably led to some unnecessary reaction from certain quarters who perhaps should know better, who tried to make more of it than it was. Glad Ange has received an apology & hopefully a line can be drawn under it now. Verbal abuse & the like are just unnecessary & never justifiable at the best of times, but certainly never for someone expressing an opinion on something football related. I would also add…..I know I couldn’t do it…there would be far too much swearing……it would be “bleep’” this and “ what the Fook that “……couple it with a few rants at the ref…….and the odd “what’s his name’s got the ball “ …”you know him with the funny hairdo “. ……….I would be crap, I know I would …..

I can’t believe what some of you are saying ….Ange is Stoke city thru and thru, she has watched and supported this club for a long time and her knowledge about all aspects of this club is huge. She has helped Surhail to improve his commentary, and knowledge about the club and players past and present. She is involved with so many things behind the scenes, helps support the ex players …..(SCOBA) Stoke City old boys association…..helps Lou Macari with his charity, She has supported the family of Ashton Hulme. ( and still is ) The young goalie at Crewe who had his leg removed after being diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what she does. Ange knows a lot about football she spends a lot of time with old players and not so old players. She is well respected by so many of our club heroes, who are happy to talk footy with her all day long. My dad being among them ….before he died. This negativity is part of what has been the problem at Stoke City for a long time now, we all need to pull together, and support our fellow Stokies ……Angela has so much Insight about what’s going on at the club it’s unreal. I do know you can’t be too outspoken on the radio, otherwise you’re going to have a short career. It’s a real art trying to balance diplomacy and tact when interviewing the manager after the game …..ask too many awkward questions and you won’t be interviewing him again …..I know I couldn’t do the job, I’d struggle with not getting angry… Stoke city is our club and Angela is as passionate about it as all of us…. Surhail is learning still and improving …..I did ask Ange the other week, to politely teach him how to pronounce “Boothen” …didn’t want to hurt his feelings or ‘owt but he needed to know not to emphasise the ‘th’ so much.. it’s gonna take a while he’s a work in progress, but by the time we’ve finished with him he’ll be “ cost kick a bo agen a wo” and “going up ‘anley me duck “ …. I dunna want to go on, but Ange is one of us, Surhail is learning to be one of us……I was born in Leicester but moved to Stoke when I was 3 yrs old when dad got bought by this wonderful club. Tony Waddington welcomed not just dad, but all the family. Waddo knew how to keep the best players, Stoke city was one big family, dad loved the roar from the Boothen end, he grew up watching footy from the terraces of Sheffield as a young boy, and never forgot his working class roots but Dad considered himself an honorary Stokie, after he retired from playing, he always followed the results and supported Stoke So come on let’s stand together, we are all loud and proud Stokies and people from this neck o the woods all support each other. Tin hat ready ….. Nobody is questioning her knowledge or passion for the club. They're saying she's a poor broadcaster (which she is). I’d have to disagree, she’s knowledgeable, she’s understandable,….there are so many people on the radio who you actually have no idea what they’re saying . They struggle with basic English or start every sentence with ….”erm” and end sentences with “you know what I mean “ . Then there is the equally annoying pronunciation of the word “three” …instead of starting it with a “th” the traditional way, it’s now pronounced “free”….(.eg. The number free has the ball ). It’s easy to criticise…personally I think radio commentary on sport is much harder than you think, try watching the game on your Tv ..turn the volume down and do the commentary yourself as if you were on the radio, remember the listener is relying on you to create the visual for them. I bet you’d struggle to do 10mins let alone 90 plus. How about you record yourself doing it and listen back ? Maybe even post it on here and we can critique it for you…….

It makes them look like they’ve got a plan, a secret plan obviously, so if it goes wrong we can’t laugh …..what they don’t realise is if they pointed out where the ball was going to go we wouldn’t believe them, thinking it to be the old double bluff …. 🤔

Schuey should have some smaller goals made for training purposes ….then the strikers would have to be more accurate to score in training…..then in a real match the goal would seem massive and a piece of piss to score in ….this would only really help the strikers though as the defence might get a false sense of how easy it is to keep the ball out of the back of the net ….mmmm didn’t think it through enough back to the drawing board..🤔

I think we can all agree it's time we spent money on getting a decent Exorcist in. I totally agree ……..we’ve had some hex, voodoo, black magic stuff happening at the club for a long time now ……from when we changed the stadium name . Could be bad luck like renaming a ship……and let’s face it we’re sinking faster than the titanic at the moment ….I want the fortress Britannia back !! Obviously I could be wrong but it’s worth a go ??

The most interesting line The incomings paint an overall picture of success for Stoke and relieve pressure on Director of Football Ricky Martin from inside the club. They won’t relieve any pressure if results don’t improve RM is the natural point of focus for frustrated owners given they can hardly blame the manager at this point I agree Tricky Ricky surely has got to be the focus of scrutiny here ? All these signings and where are we? Something seems very wrong with our recruitment and what we require from players signing for the club. If they just want a wage packet, then go somewhere else. A true player wants to play football, because they love to play football….my dad really couldn’t believe how lucky he was, getting paid to do something he loved …and he would have done it for nothing. The whole team played for each other the manager the club the fans ….it was not up for debate either.

Shut Clayton woods down replace it with Portakabins and tell them it’s not opening again until relegation is avoided. Pampered twats. They'll still get paid though😠 I like the portakabins idea …..are we going full on Rocky IV …..hashing together a gymnasium out of old tyres, rope and oil drums? …on the players still getting paid I would be getting my money’s worth out of them ….how about making them do a full day at work ? Not all training because that would be too much …..mix it up a bit Maybe go rambling in the locality ….maybe a teamwork challenge ……drop them in groups no car, no money, no phone or smart watch, in somewhere like Fegg Hayes And see who can find their way back to Clayton Wood……that would build some backbone….

Schuey is trying to build a squad, all the players have to be pulling together in the same direction to achieve this. I think Schuey is starting to find out who is with him and which players in the squad are only at Stoke for the money. I’ve heard Mmmaee is one of those players who often turns up late for training and is turning into a bit of a Deva…..We’ve had this before where the players turn up at the end of training for the game, but can’t be bothered with the repetition of the drills ….corners, passing the ball to each other …simple stuff that repetition makes you good at …..boring maybe but necessary.

Gorden Banks would have done a better job at full back,he really will keep costing us points when picked. Gordon preferred to play on the right wing. actually other than a goalie … dad thought he was a centre forward …..

Nah mate I know the spotters always travel with teams around the country, but I'm referring to as them sending vans up for matches. Stoke v WBA last year had West Mids riot squads up outside the ground.. & Staffs did same at the Hawthorns aswell. Must be some West Midlands/Staffs mutual aid agreement. Never heard of that mate. I'll keep my eyes open now. I know Staffs draft in horses from other forces for some games. Or did do when we used to get crowds. The only reason Staffs have to draft in horses is because they disbanded the mounted police for Staffordshire when they made cutbacks. No doubt they used the money saved wisely …..probably not ..

Shes excellent is Ange. Knows her stuff too and I’m not usually a big fan of the majority of female comentators but she’s tops. I couldn’t have put it better, Ange is a massive Stoke fan and is really knowledgeable about all things Stoke , great to see her getting the credit she deserves. I know she’s impressed with Schuey, says he’s a really good bloke, good to interview, great attitude towards all the personnel at the club and not an arrogant to*ser like the other bloke (AN) ….

We’ve seen some quality from the new players bought in ……Vidigal, Burger, hacksaw…..but no set structure of play as far as I’m concerned. We did look like the defence was getting better, then Wilmot out long term and Travers recalled, the wheels really fell off the bus then. We seem then to have a team where they are all scared of the ball and heaven forbid if they are in front of the goal, they are scared shitless of having a shot !! Preferring to pass the ball to some other fooker, so they can be responsible for the shot in the back of the Boothen end. …..as for penalty taking …here’s an idea Why not all practice taking a few each at the end of every training session, so that you’re actually pretty comfortable and competent at it …..instead of the rabbit in headlights look. We just keep heading backwards …the players need to develop some backbone and get a grip and take take some responsibility…….if they work hard on the pitch we will back them, if they stroll about and do nowt …..we will let them know…..

Dad signing was a combination of Setters and George Eastham. Dad and George were usually roommates when playing for England and George and dad kept in touch As mates …. George had a lot of influence with Tony Waddington and also encouraged dad to move to Stoke …..Dad also had a lot of respect for John Farmer, and realised that when he joined Stoke Farmer would be number 2 keeper, but that was part of the course being a goalkeeper .

I’ve been watching Stoke since 1983 I have seen some bizarre refereeing as far ack as Clive the book Thomas et all I have seen bias in many forms, shocking decisions, bottling decisions or just downright incompetence. I have never seen such a shocking display of refereeing at a Stoke match in all my time. Missed at least one penalty, gave them every foul, the free kick that led to the goal, booking our players without thought…. I thought these days were over but clearly not. I’m still shocked now in a ‘did that just happen’ sense. The man was blatantly anti Stoke - yes I know a childish suggestion- but I just can’t see it any other way on that performance. I agree with everything you said ( although I’ve been watching Stoke a bit longer ) your post saved from a mad rant …. And I must echo your comment of “did that just happen”? It was like an out of body experience, I wondered if I’d fallen asleep and dreamt it… That Bellend bloke is not fit to referee an under 11’s game, he’s a disgrace and the bit of “how’s your father “ as Nige would have put it at the end, was down To his incompetence.
