In the Plymouth squad tomorrow, so he'll be cup-tied in the unlikely event we win against Brighton www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/live-plymouth-argyle-updates-next-9015150Cundle in Argyle squad against Sutton There were reports in the West Midlands last night that Wolves were considering selling on-loan Argyle midfielder Luke Cundle, with Stoke City and Bristol City linked to £2 million moves for him. Neil Dewsnip: "I'm aware of the speculation. I have had conversations with Wolves on that topic and as of this morning they haven't received any offers whatsoever." Dewsnip confirmed Cundle would be in the Argyle squad for the FA Cup tie against Sutton United tomorrow.

Surprised he's going to Ipswich. Can't get in Blackburn's team, and doesn't seem to be rated by their fans who think he's limited and maybe not even Champ=standard. Millwall wanted him last year, and that seemed more his level.
But Ipswich haven't got much wrong, so who knows.

uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/steven-schumacher-interview-know-stoke-090000134.htmlStoke will be active in the January transfer window: they have held talks with Wolves over a £2 million deal for midfielder Lee Cundle, who played under Schumacher at Plymouth, while Leicester goalkeeper Daniel Iversen is expected to join on loan. A goalscorer is also a priority. Data will be integral to their recruitment: at Plymouth, potential signings were analysed by using key performance indicators and whether they were an upgrade on players in their position while fitting into the club’s budget. “We believe in data and if there’s information in front of your eyes you should be using it, for recruitment and game planning,” says Schumacher.

www.stokecityfc.com/videos"A lot of people are wondering how Emre Tezgel's getting on?" "Yeah, he's fine, yeah. He's doing okay. He's obviously a young player of high potential who's done well. When he's trained with us, he's looked as though he can handle it and he's capable. He's a little bit away from the team at this moment - but hopefully he can keep playing and keep getting better and if we see something of him, then great" Doesn't sound like he's particularly close to getting any first-team minutes, even with the lack of forward players in the first-team group. I know Neil said we were building him up physically - but he has played for the age-group teams as far back as October. It's hard to know how noteworthy it even is that an 18 year-old isn't featuring, but he is/was the poster boy of the academy and the feeling was he was one we were right to be excited by and possibly on a different level of prospect to Lowe? His debut was 2 years ago and his contact announcement was probably our most high-profile ever for a teenager. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes. Whether this is all part of the big plan to take it very slowly with him, and everyone's on the same page, or whether he's looking a bit off the pace is hard to gauge.

The Walters rumour getting another airing today by the looks of it. Doubt he'd be one that threatened the first team if it happened? www.onevalefan.co.uk/forum/topic/60154-january-transfers-and-rumours/page/57/#commentsRumours on Facebook that walters is going sjoke / has agreed previously to join If there's anything in that then it's probably wise for his own sake he doesn't get picked in the squad any more as the reaction would be unlike anything he has been used to before. Yes i have heard that a few times off different people and tbh if he is asking silly money then let him go,if he was setting the world alight then yes maybe we should try sort something but he has a long way to go to get where Plant is and I like the look of Lomax and Shorrock more He looked great in the cup games, nowhere near when he's played in the league. If he goes now we get a fee, at the end of the season very little. Stoke is a graveyard for young players - if he goes he's a silly boy. If he stays he will get a lot more experience and become a better player. I've also heard Walters will be going to Stoke. Pretty sure Leon Constantine is his agent. I think we did everything we could to tempt him to sign with us. Including throwing him in & giving him first team starts, which is probably the only thing we could offer him which Stoke cannot. Giving him game time would've been the last card we could play & it doesn't look like it's persuaded him or his agent. The fact he's been left out by Crosby the past few games would suggest it's a done deal & we are cutting ties. It's a foolish move IMO, but he's probably been promised the world by Stoke & he doesn't have to move home. I'd like to think we leaned on the Will Forrester situation to show him that there's clear evidence of talented youngsters leaving that club due to a lack of game time & opportunities. Only time will tell whether he's made the right call, but he obviously sees it as the next step in his development. Still a very young lad & will no doubt go straight into their under 23 setup. They have quite a bit of pull with their under 23s based on the quality of opposition they are playing. They regularly play all the top dogs including the top European clubs, PSG etc. We simply cannot compete with that unfortunately. However, I think Walters, for a teenager, has been pretty impressive in what I feel is potentially a harder position for a youngster to come into. There's arguably more physicality in central midfield than on the flanks. He's also given glimpses that he's got good awareness and can see a pass. I think he looks a decent bet for the future and I would be disappointed if he did go as I think, on a personal level, he'd have a better chance of a run of first-team football at Vale than at Stoke. However, I do take the point that we can't let contract talks drag on forever.. What a <ovf censored> if he goes stoke Another young lad who has no respect

I know it’s only a rumour but heard of a couple of vale fan friends that we are signing Rhys Walters from them. Quick Look one the vale forum and they ain’t too happy. Yeah, seen him mentioned with us on twitter and on their forum. Pete Smith seemed to suggest it's unlikely, at least this month www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-steven-schumacher-9012120 Rhys Walters, an 18-year-old breaking through at Port Vale, has been catching the eye but it would be a surprise if anything developed this month.

Almost certain to be rubbish but suppose Luke Cundle is another that's a possible Norrington-Davies loan steal (maybe even a perm?) with the Schuey link. Midfield not a priority though, you wouldn't think. pasoti.co.uk/threads/luke-cundle.125837/They rate him Guy on twitter was on to something at the weekend then!

What’s your opinion on iversen FM Think I'd be pleased enough. Just a bit worried about a lack of game time over the last 2 years as his career has stagnated a bit

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-leicester-transfer-daniel-iversen-9013900“We’re on with the goalkeeper. I don’t want to name names because it wouldn’t be fair to do so but we’re on with the goalkeeper because we’ve known about it for a long time, since Mark Travers went back.” He added: “It’s the obvious one and it was highlighted before I even came in that we’d try to strengthen the goalkeeping department. We’re on with that. “Apart from that we’ll have to be patient. When I first came I said we’d give everyone an opportunity to impress and see what we’re all about before we make decisions but the recruitment process has been ongoing since the last window shut and there are targets lined up if we have to do something.” “Enda’s been injured, Lynden has played there and got injured as well, JT has played there and is now suspended. There’s a big gaping hole at left-back. Perhaps we’ll ask Hughesy (assistant manager Mark Hughes) to get his boots on.” “We’re certainly won’t be 18 players coming in January! We can’t push everyone to one side and bring in a whole new squad, definitely not. The recruitment in the summer was a big turnaround, a lot of players coming through the door. A few players have done really well immediately, others will take time to settle in and perform the way we expect them to do. “There’s no rush for the new players that we signed. They were signed because we thought they were good players in the summer and now it’s up to us to determine whether they will be able to play the way we want to play. I want to give everyone that kind of opportunity but where we feel it will be necessary to strengthen the team for the way we’re going to play, we’ll try to do that. “We have to get those decisions right but it won’t be huge, drastic changes I’m sure.”

The young Crewe defender does look to be Blackburn-bound www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24027348.blackburn-transfer-state-play-connor-oriordan-latest/Blackburn Rovers have won the race for the signature of Crewe Alexandra defender Connor O'Riordan. The 20-year-old centre-back is in line to become their first signing of the January transfer window, The Lancashire Telegraph understands. O'Riordan has now agreed to join Rovers and just the formalities of the deal are left to be completed.

Yay! A loan now and then sign one permanently in the summer makes sense. He won't be able to be recalled either will he? No idea if he can't be recalled then loan is fine Think Leicester would have to have zero fit keepers to be able to recall him. Seems unlikely as they've got Hermansen, Ward and a young Pole as well www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-mark-travers-8895985In the Championship, clubs can only make an emergency recall of a loan goalkeeper from an EFL club if they don't have any senior keeper fit but in the Premier League you can call a keeper back if you don't have two. Bad luck.

Tymon 2.7 Taylor 0.3 Brown 5.0 Mmaee 1.75 Bae 2 Gooch 1 Pearson 0.5 Vidigal 0.5 Jojic 1 Leris 0.8 Tchamadeu 1 Burger 4.3 Give or take a million or two for add-ons, slight guesswork on the exact fees in some cases, signing-on and loan fees - and payments for the likes of Wes, the net spend was pretty modest in the summer, wasn't it? Even the reported fee for Bae involves add-ons to get to that figure. So roughly about 5ish? Maybe 6 at a push Obviously the wages are always the biggest thing. But frustrating that even the richest non-parachute clubs are now seemingly pretty much incapable of really splashing the cash and throwing the chequebook at it by the vice-like grip of FFP. You wonder what we've got left in the kitty. Where’s the £18M for Souttar in your calculations? That was this time last year. I was referring exclusively to the summer

Finn Azaz seems to be mentioned with Boro quite seriously today. I think there’s a very good argument to suggest we shouldn’t be spending that sort of money on an attacking mid with the ones we have already. Yeah, probably not an immediate priority. Hopefully Bae can cement that place, and we've got Baker there (and Johnson in an emergency). Maybe Haksabanovic too.
