As much as it's the right time for club and player to part ways.. don't know why I get the feeling but he will stay. Actually hope he does

He just comes across as a sulky billy-big-bollocks type to me. It was great to see him so aggressive in his play and happy / celebratory after. If he could show that and connect with fans he’d be massively popular, but I think he’s burnt his bridges. The eternal nearly man for me. I couldn't disagree more. He's been misused. In this team, playing this way, he's ideal. Yep, hoofing the ball up an isolated Campbells head was ridiculous Thought he’s played well last 2 games

What is.. The lying down, or the futility of it.. The act itself… Why don’t we sit one player on another’s shoulders for extra height just on the off chance… Load of bollocks

I still think we’ve underperformed under him overall. We need more goals In the team and a whole new defence (Hoever and McNally will leave and Rose and Wilmot aren’t good enough). Big changes in the summer, let’s hope he gets it right I think Rose and Wilmot are OK but not together. We need a big tough old school CB next to them who can organise the back 4. Biggest issue is not having a decent goalscorer it’s our biggest priority. In Bae, Burger and Manhoef we have 3 excellent players to build around. Stevens coming back has shown what a huge issue not having a LB has been. Think Steven’s has been excellent and underestimated Hope we offer him a contract extension (excellent cover)

If they win it's pretty open and not certain that 50 is enough, that's the issue. QPR gifted a goal 1-0 I get that but if they lose I think its dine dn dusted for us and actualy it’s 2 form 3 three then with brum to play Huddersfield Don’t worry Benj, you can start predicting our relegation again in a few months 😆

Gob smacked with that team selection. League 1 midfield. I was hoping that all the midfield playing today would not be here next season and there they are in our biggest game in 6 years. Shocked. For the 10th time in a row I’m hoping Laurent has his 1 in 10 game. Terrible midfield

He was supposed to come in and make incremental improvements, he hasn’t and if we get relegated he should be fired Incremental improvements you say, 23/24 AN 20 games won 6 drawn 3 lost 11 Sch 20 games won 6 drawn 5 lost 9 I guess that's incremental... He's given us the ability to actually not collapse when going a goal down, WBA, Huddersfield and SW last week. With AN we all knew it was game over. The attitude of the players has improved considerably. They look fitter, hence the ability to fight back in games now. Our attacking play is significantly better than under AN. Lack of goals still a concern. All this when trying to deal with the complete mess AN left. And he's doing it with all of AN's 20 mismatched signings, not his own. And people think giving him 16 weeks is enough to make the call that he's shit and needs to go. I think you and others are being extremely harsh and expecting far too much. And I believe you're giving no credit to the fact he's tidying up the mess Neil left for him. I don't think he's been amazing but I see potential. And if we're going into the business of giving managers only 16 weeks (that is how long he's actually been in post)to sort it all out then quite frankly we're never going to actually get anywhere. You need to be a little bit more reasonable and give him a chance... Not any more for me. He’s Mad Nath with a scouse accent Hoped it would work out for him but he’s all over the place and if his signings are a portent of things to come…

i’ve been a supporter 47 years and never once wanted them to fail , but i know a manager who’s not good enough when i see one , carry on happy clapping you 🤡 So your philosophy if you were the big gaffer at Stoke would be to give every manager about 20 weeks and then sack them if they aren't meeting your envisaged aspirations. No ifs no buts. Its a terrible business plan and will have you bankrupt in short order. You've not a clue what you're on about. And obviously no understanding of the difficulties the club have got themselves into with the scattergun recruitment of 20 odd random players last summer and the complications that has caused. But yeah Schumacher was supposed to come in and sort it all in a matter of weeks... He was supposed to come in and make incremental improvements, he hasn’t and if we get relegated he should be fired

Hope Steven’s starts he’s been very solid and he’s a wily experienced pro. Laurent needs to be dropped Our midfield seriously lacks bite and aggression Burger for me looks like he’s lost interest, slows up our midfield. A good defensive midfielder but seems to be losing that work rate at present? Therefore if fit? Junior back in, Thompson midfielder, with Baker & Laurent. I’d stick Lowe on as he can hold the ball for Junho & Leris. It needs to be front attacking football from the off. The first goal is crucial on Saturday. Definitely Baker if solely for his dead ball abilities I’d have a disinterested Burger over Laurent all day long Wouldn’t risk Junior in such an important fixture, he looked miles off when coming back from the African nations

Fair comment... but I reckon that this message board had been more right than wrong on the majority feelings of fans and particularly on the future of the incumbent manager at the time. Sorry, disagree. Living away from Stoke the only way I have of gauging fans' feelings is on here until match days. I often turn up expecting the opposite of what I actually find. Expect a hostile crowd but it is actually quite supportive and patient. Expect fans to want rid of Schumacher but hear them chanting his name. Expect nobody to be renewing season tickets but find every single fan round me is buying again. Expected everyone to be moaning about the team selection v Huddersfield but found most were accepting of the mustn't lose this mentality. I think the majority of fans attending the match are there to enjoy and support and can't be bothered to make comments on the Oatcake or even read it. What is the average number of fans on here at any one time would you say? I'd guess at between 100 and 500. How many regular posters are there? About 50? Out of 20000 that is a very small sample and would not be accepted as a representative sample. . Fifty out of twenty thousand or 0.25% say Schumacher should go! And not even that as several of those fifty want him to stay There was quite a lot of moaning around me yesterday. I also think a lot of the away fans were questioning SS selection but will join in the chant to support the team. Campbell has been poor but some of the abuse he gets is unacceptable, it was embarrassing yesterday.

It was my first time visiting Hillsborough. I must admit I was very impressed with their support and looking at the comments on line, I think they thought the same about us. It’s a shame both teams are crap because an atmosphere and attendance on that scale deserves to be at the top of the championship or even in the premier league. In terms of the stadium, three sides are fine, but the stand we were in needs demolishing. I’m amazed it’s still there in its current state considering its history and condition. And those fuckin poles (not the nationality for the avoidance of doubt 😆)

I haven't heard anything after the match as have just got back, but to be brutally honest i'm not interested in anything he has to say anymore. I've seen and heard enough. Sheffield Wednesday did their homework on us and him and their sole tactic in the first half was to play passing triangles around Thompson to get in behind him time and again, because they knew how to beat it and knew how we'd line up. In a team that is bereft of creativity and goals the last thing you do is coach it out of them by setting up so negatively. Fair enough mate but he said that his assistant Peter Kenwright predicted the way they’d set up after watching the last half an hour against Norwich and hence why he played a back 3.I agree we were lucky not to be at least 2 down and maybe we got lucky unlike last Saturday against WBA but we live to fight another day Was a horrendous setup, no shots on target and blessed to go in level. Interesting to see what he does Saturday

The bloke is nothing short of a disgrace to the shirt. Yet again, a non performance where this time he let a 34 year old Barry Bannan run rings round him, and yet again we had the old throwing the arms up to the crowd routine when he needs to look no further than the mirror. Seriously, get him gone out of this club. A complete charlatan. 1000% Insipid weak physically and mentally BB ran the midfield some of his lay off passes from the outside of the boot we very nice, we have a moany weak windbag

Thought he took the goal extremely well, ball was spinning like crazy when it came to him. Could be an absolutely crucial point.
