No ex-player should be considered for the job So you wouldn't consider Potter then? Admittedly he wouldn’t be my choice Here’s why I believe that there is something here which tends to make the managers too cosy. Perhaps the owners are too nice. I’d like to get someone who is completely unconnected to the club with a very strong personality who is capable of coming here and shaking things up. I cannot see an ex-player doing it, including Potter

Integrity and Alex Neil don’t fit in the same sentence Unless that sentence is “Alex Neil lacks integrity.” Or unless it is -‘Integrity and Alex Neil don’t fit in the same sentence’. 😜

you said he wouldnt be sacked so dont be wrong again Christ mate. You know what they say. He who hasn't made a mistake hasn't done anything.😁 Hassenhuthl did a very good job at Southampton with a very limited squad He should be a very strong candidate for the job

Ever since relegation we have taken the ‘safe’ option which proved not to be safe at all as all our managers have been unmitigated disasters. Not one of them managed to instill an identity in the team and all have dished out awful, uninspiring football For God’s sake JC be brave for once and go get a continental manager who can entertain the crowd and give this team an identity. I know some will say ‘but who?’ Well that’s not my job but I’m sure there are good managers in eg Germany and Denmark (for example) who can do the job. Eg FC Nordsjælland score an average of 2 goals per game and have won their Europa league group trashing Fenerbache 6-1. Just saying by way of example. But enough of the o’neills, neils, rowetts and mowbrays. To be fair both Jones and O'Neil were a bit of a gamble, one did a decent job in difficult circumstances and the other fucked up big time. However I do agree this squad needs something more innovative than another dinosaur British manager - it would Lambert mk 2. And as to some superstar ex player hell bent on proving yet again good players usually make shit managers - just no. No ex-player should be considered for the job

Stoke City Manager Alex Neil has left his position with the Club. Chairman John Coates said: “Alex is a man of absolute integrity who has given his all for Stoke City, and we would like to thank him for his hard work during his time with the Club. “We are grateful for the building blocks he has helped put in place in bringing together a group of players in whom we have a huge amount of faith regarding their ability to turn things around this season, and who can help us achieve longer-term success. “However, with the way the results have been so far, we have made the difficult decision to seek a new direction for the team at this time. “Nothing matters to me more than the success of our club and we are now working towards the appointment of Alex’s successor.” Technical Director Ricky Martin added: “The recruitment process is now underway and we will explore all avenues to secure the best person for the job. “The role represents a fantastic opportunity and I anticipate that it will attract a number of high-calibre candidates. “With Martin Canning having also left the Club with our sincere thanks for his hard work as Alex’s Assistant, Paul Gallagher has been installed as Caretaker Manager ahead of the forthcoming home fixture against Swansea City. “Paul will be assisted by Alex Morris, Ryan Shawcross and Jonathan Gould. We wish them all well for Tuesday evening’s game.” A man of absolute integrity? Bull. Shit. The man was in the stands at Blackburn when his current employers had a game against Norwich at home. He’s an absolute snake. Still, though. Good news for you lot that he’s gone. Integrity and Alex Neil don’t fit in the same sentence

Cue us being here again in 12 months time, ffs. He would be sacked before the end of the season, just like Kamara. Eustace will produce nothing but the same utter garbage we’ve seen ever since relegation. Same old, same old.

Don’t we ever learn ? In the recent history of our club we have taken nothing but rubbish from Sunderland - kenwyn Jones, Danny Collins, some other players I don’t even care to remember, now Alex Neil and Enda (for gods sake what kind of name is that !) Stevens. Thank you but no thank you - don’t want to see anything coming our way from Sunderland ! Enda Stevens was from Sheffield united but other than that I agree. You’re right. I often mix them up as they both wear the same colors and are both crap

We need a proper continental manager who plays good, flowing modern football! Bournemouth could have taken the lazy option and gone for some Allardyce or the like. Instead they went for a little known Spanish manager who took his team of average players to Old Trafford and smashed the place. Let’s be brave for once. Let us for once look beyond the tip of our noses.

I personally think he will be sacked on Monday morning. If he had a modicum of integrity he would hand his notice in and walk. For whatever reason he has failed epically. In his shoes I would walk and apologise. Fully in agreement. But of course he won’t The cunt is waiting to get sacked to receive his payout

Does anyone think he will still be the manager tomorrow? Yes I do Not because he deserves it - he deserves to be sacked with immediate effect But I believe that the bottler in charge will not axe him

Unfortunately, even if he does go - he will be replaced with exactly the same type. Just as we have seen over the past years. We will not move forward until the owners look past the end of their nose for a manager We need a continental manager. Hassenhuthl is available

For those that want him out - think of the alternatives that the owners are likely to bring in. One more window for me and then a good look at the entire setup if he cant turn it around If they had any sense they would get Hassenhuthl

Some of the problems we have are; who do you replace him with? Do you wait until January? Who is out there that is any better that would realistically take the job? Who would come and work with the current backroom staff? Lets be brutally honest about this, would you want Wilder - Mr 5 at the back and watch his dull football, we don't have the players at the club to play his preferred system, John Eustace, did a decent job and unfairly sacked at Brum but is he going to take us forward or will he be AN MK2 in which case why change? I can't see JC looking abroad and Graham Potter wouldn't come here. Gouranga. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/ibnJJzaA6ZhfTOIekEAf.gif) Hassenhuthl

Go just go. But the worrying thing is i can't see a replacement out there, who could turn this shower into a capable team. You can’t see a replacement because Stoke City’s radar does not go beyond the end of its nose!! Look to the continent and certainly there are plenty of managers to choose from. If available I would definitely go for Hassenhuthl who had done a very decent job at Southampton before they decide to do a harakiri replacing him with that silly dwarf

Start looking now John and choose wisely. No point repeating past mistakes and making the ship not only without a skipper but RUDDERLESS. He needs to look beyond the end of his nose Which I’m certain he’s unable to

When is the simpleton in the boardroom going to get sick and tired of Welsh, Irish and Scottish managers who should be shearing sheep rather than managing football teams ?

It's a silly lunge there from Stevens, not what you expect from an experienced head. Saying that, it is a soft decision, but Stevens made the ref make a decision there. He didn’t ‘make’ him take the decision but certainly gave him the opportunity to do so
