I saw that in the Sunday Mirror. Apparently he's unsettled"
The story may have more credence if he hadn't said himself in the Sun how happy he is in Stoke and how much he's enjoying life away from London.
Cretin doesn't cover it.

Cracking player imo he has done well for us so far.So what idf he had a bad game on saturday every player does.If he comes out and says that he is unsettled then maybe it would be for the best t let him go but for me id like to see him for another couple of seasons. As for ledley he can fuck off he is to overated and i dont think he will cut it in the prem.Cardiff want to much money for him and i think there is better out there than him and at a cheaper price.

£4M no thank you and he had a bad game on Saturday which is true (As does everyone now and again) but he could have had a couple if Fuller had played a better ball and had he got his header on target.
Been very impressed with Ethers so far, I can't say there's many others out there realistically who could fill his boots.

There is no doubt that Etherington's introduction has widened the pitch for us which is brilliant. He had a great start to his Stoke career but, after his petulant kick at Sunderland, has been off the boil. If we had an alternative to him (apart from Cresswell) then I would perhaps give him a rest. However, I can't see him leaving and neither do I want him to. A good omen...he scored at Craven Cottage earlier this season.

The jury is still out where Etherington is concerned.
On one hand he is what we have been crying out for for years - a natural left-sided player. He has pace and good control.
However, he seems to lack a bit of bottle. He is scared of a tackle, and once any full-back worth his salt senses that - you have no chance. He did not get past Ooijer once on sat, and he is a centre half by trade. I also question his desire to really get on the end of those two extremely score-able chances on sat too, looked a little half-hearted to me, as was the majority of his play. As for the clown above criticising Fuller's ball in - get real.
One thing is for sure though, we should not even contemplate selling him unless we have someone better lined up to replace him.

Yes I agree with Knowles.
It wasn't just Saturday, since his return from suspension, Etherington hasn't been pulling up any trees.
I don't want him to go as he's the best that we've got in that position and I'm sure Pulis would only consider letting him leave if he felt he had a better replacement for him.

We can't sell the players that have helped us stay up this season, wouldn't make sense.

Alardyce did his homework on nSaturday with Ethrington, everytime they got the ball out to him he had two men on him .It was up to us to use the space.

It's brilliant how quickly people start to talk crap about our players. Etherington certainly did not play well on Saturday, but to suggest he was a little half hearted in trying to get on the end of chances is crazy.
He made sure he was in position waiting for the first chance, it came in and he couldn't quite get it. It happens. A natural goalscorer like Beattie would have banged it home, obviously.
For the second one he was running bloody full pelt to get there. He could have done better, but I can't imagine it was easy to direct that header when he was running in as fast as he was. It was always going to go pretty much the way he was going.

yes,I want to make it clear that Ethers ran his socks off.He has clearly signed up to the Stoke cause big time.
just concerned that he lacked the confidence to take his man on.
now the pressure is virtually off maybe one or two such as Ethers can play with a bit more freedom.
all the players should be confident on current form too.

Big Sam realised the threat and it took two of them to stifle him out of the game. Still thought he did well given the marking of him, and can see why he will be a target in the summer. I hope he stays at Stoke. If he does leave, we want more that £2 million for him.

fuck knows how anyone can say let's get rid .. based on a couple of below par performances.
only at Stoke can you go from "world beater" to "waste if space" in a couple of months.
He is by far our best bet in that position and personally I would much rather have him there than say a hugely over-rated Ledley ...

Sorry, but there are maybe a handful of players in the Premier League who would have converted that cross from Fuller. Just look at the pace on it and how he had to try and get on the end of it. Even in slow motion it looked difficult.

although no 'world beater' ethers is prem level wide left midfielder and we were crying out for such a player. TP took 3 feckin years to fill that role!

Etherington is quality give him a break.
He is carrying a knock and wasnt fully fit before that either.
Gives us perfect balance on the left.
