All those years editing AVTAK not wasted then Shame this EXCELLENT piece will be wasted on its recipient. The National press have become lazy and arrogant IMHO and I wouldn't be surprised if, half the time, they are not even at the games they 'pretend' to report on. Nil desperandum sir, we KNOW the truth and much of it is in your letter.

Bunny that is great stuff.... really conveys the passion and solidarity stoke fans have around their team and how it has brought such an amphitheatre to the greed league

Nother good read.
Man Utd won 1 – 0 tonight in what was a tepid encounter. Ask your journalist friend whether he thinks the united fans journey home would be more enjoyable had they been treated to an enthralling 4 – 3 defeat.
Credit to him for replying to your original mail; although clearly misses the point.
I agree with him on your show me a loser comment though. Jack Nicklaus was very gracious in defeat and is the most successful golfer of all time. History is littered with similar characters, not least our very own Sir Stanley – we should teach our children to be gracious in defeat and success.

The last game of last season against Leicester was a relatively dull affair. No goals, scrappy game, not really end to end stuff. But by heaven it was exciting, a rollercoaster for Southampton and the a massive occasion for us Stoke fans. We'd been treated to a pretty poor game but by hell we were jubilant, it meant the world to us. It was an outpouring of relief and joy at the end of 23 years of shambles. Would we really have preferred an entertaining 7-6 defeat and a Hull victory that meant we stayed in the Championship?

no, I didn't think he's reply again tbh.
Just got back from North Wales, where Fountains Bar in Llandudno had it's biggest ever one-man mental at 4.35pm yesterday!
Also, was carrying my 2 nippers through the high street at 5pm all singing "we are staying up".

Just a shame about the week at work ahead getting in the way!!
