An excellent epistle. I usually 'scan read' the long posts, but this one had me transfixed.

Terrific, just watched Chelsea v Liverpool 4 each. But I enjoyed your post better. There's far more pleasure watching your own. I'm buzzing all week after watching Stoke and can't wait for the next match. Poor old Jim Holden has probably already seen it all, and the poor deluded hack knows the rest of his life is an anticlimax.

Cracking email - we need more people telling these idiot journo's what its like to support their local team and that we're passionate about our club. we're not just going to roll over and let prem teams just hammer us are we!!
Trouble is we're damned if we do and damned if we dont - if we'd been hammered every week pundits would have said 'rubbish, told ya so'. now we're actually making a fist of it and look like staying up its our style that 'rubbish, boring and dull' - no credit where its due whatsoever.

Good work Bunny, it only amazes me that you are the same Bunny who sits in front of me and talks shit on a match day! (Oh and joins in with some degrading great ditties to the Toon on the bridge!! ) Seriously though mate, it's good stuff (if not quite as good as me on TalkSport the other week! )

Bunny! You are fast becoming a literary legend...... The Abdoulaye Faye of the written word. Reading you I regard Ted 1965 as the master of the one-liner!!!!
Its all brilliant stuff and you articulate perfectly the feeling of all Stokies -however I fear you will not receive a reply to your second E-Mail. Your first effort was the perfect riposte to Holdens half-hearted lazily written drivel ..... but now you have surpassed yourself....you have completely destroyed every one of his ill reasoned arguments and he has nowhere to go
Congratulations Mate... Hope to hear a lot more from you

Tremendous response Bunny - I don't expect Mr Holden will manage anything as well thought out or eloquent. Maybe you should consider sending it to the sports editor at the Express?

That was magical Bunny mate, perfect summing up of everything that is great about supporting a real club and why we do so. It would be nice if he got it this time and didn’t stick with his agenda of patting you on the head and then attempting to justify his blinkered view of this football club.
You have totally destroyed his arguments and shown who the real Philistines are and it’s not fine, passionate and articulate supporters like yourself.
Bravo sir I salute you.

It is just a symptom of our being out of the top flight for so long that we feel we have to react to every sleight real or imagined against the club. There is now a mountain of drivel written about the Premier each and every day we are merely flavour of the month for some, they've done everyone else to death. We should just ignore these people, writing tripe is just their job.

Paul, Did Ross not come too? All I remember is standing in the Anfield Road Paddock with a perfect view of the back of some scouser's donkey jacket. We couldn't see fuck all and had to have a running commentary from the old man. I wish we had known about Bunny in the car, he could have kept an eye on ours and saved the old man ten bob!

Bunny, i'm sitting ere with a tear in my eye! You really hit a cord with me there especially with the Anfield reference - my old man is a l'pool fan, he's taken me twice before and i took him to anfield last year. You have caught the essence of what it means to be a stokie there mate - you should sent that 2 the sentinel. Keep up the good work!

Bunny, great letter mate and i'd like to see his reply when you get it. Have to agree with Paul there though, little harsh leaving you and the Ma' alone for 2 hours! ;D That game was top notch though, remember Conroy going off with blood pouring from his eye, also Greenhoff missing a few sitters (rather out of character for him). Once again, great letter mate, made some cracking points.

Bunny,
That is a wonderfully composed piece of work which conveys your heartfelt feelings about Stoke FC ,Footie and life.
I was deeply touched by the emotions and beliefs expressed therein.
It is something which needed to be said on behalf of all true believers like yourself and I hope myself similarly.
Unfortunately when addressing same to a member of the 5th estate like Holden it is like using a pea shooter to stop a panzer tank and his reply which you posted I think bears this out. The Holdens of this world are not seekers of truth they are hacks who want to knock out some piece and get down into the bar as quickly as possible with no care for accuracy or the effect of what they write.
There is no way that his original column and subsequent remarks could have been written by someone who actually soberly watched the match.
Nevertheless what you said needed saying and I thank you for saying it and I hope you will keep saying it on behalf of us without the ability to express ourselves so well.

Hi Bunny, I think that sums up how every football fan really feels,I was once asked who I would rather win England or Stoke and the only reply I could think of was that when England lose it upsets me until the following day when Stoke lose It guts me till the next time we play (or win).During the times of continuously getting beaten I am unbearable to live with.
Great e-mail and I hope he has the nous to reply with a little more class this time (but i doubt it) .Well done Bunny.
Ant.

Great read Bunny, only one problem............
.........why send it to just one journalist, when that same letter could be distributed out to ALL the other intoxicated journo's who write Stoke off at the slightest opportunity!!!

wow. I'm sure if he does reply he will stick to his original comments but just know that any true football fan would be blown away by that. So if he replies the way we all think he will then he just aint worth bothering with. I thought a second email might have been a mistake as the frist one was so good, but i was wrong. Absolutely awesome piece of writing and one that deserves a lot more publicity (you listening smudge )

so if chelsea get slaughtered 6-0 by Barcelona next round i presume that all we'll see Mr.Holden talking about is what an entertaining match it was and a credit to football......or will he be espousing sentimental talk about how brave etc. chelsea were because they're a top four english club? it always amazes me how if a little club battles it out it apparently is nothing more than depserate football,if a big club does it then it shows a mark of passion as apparently all champions have to learn how to win games even when they're playing badly....consistent reasoning? i think not!!! lazy journalism? oh yes! your post however bunny is absolutely superb and is literally probably the greatest post i've read on here!! (you're even rivalling Ted for the length of post award!)

Bunny, absolutely quality letter YET AGAIN. Dont usually read long posts, only have a quick flick through but that haad me glued to the screen. I agree with every word mate.
Sure, i wasnt around to see the likes of Greenhoff, Banks and Sir Stan, but i do know that the football i encounter every Saturday makes me proud and entertained...certainly gives me and my mates something to talk about on Monday mornings at school!
