...this Summer , assuming that we stay up..? ???
I reckon we could be talking £10 million if the Kitson story comes to fruition.
I'm sure T.P will wipe the slate clean don't you..?

We could see a major clearout.
Simonsen-£1m Griffin-Free Olofinjana-£1.75m Cort-£2m Soares-£1m Cresswell-£350k Kitson-£? Pugh-£1.5m Pericard-released Matteo-released Diao-released Davies-£1m Kelly-loan return Tonge-£1.5m Camara-loan return Dickinson-£800k Sonko-£1.5m Grocott-released J.Phillips-released Thorley-released
£12.4m + Kitson fee
That would leave us with 16 players plus 8 or 9 signings to push us on and give us that little bit of extra quality

How about if we replaced him with say Stuart Taylor or Thomas Kuszyak, both of whom are nbumber 3's at their clubs and buy a LB, Hreidarsson or Fabio Da Silva on loan with them and Higgy as LB's

Why do people think Pugh will leave? I would personally like to see him stay at Stoke.. Think he deserved to play more games than he has done this year

About £7.5m, the 3 relegated clubs could come knocking for a couple of our players

I don't think Pugh will go. TP values versatility and Pugh, like Delap, can play in a variety of positions. He's never going to be first choice here but Pugh has not let us down this season and (in my opinion) is actually playing better than last season when he has had the chance.
Dicko's situation surprises me. I'm not sure why TP didn't let him stay on loan at Leeds where he was doing well (and pushing up his value). Bringing him back only made sense if we were going to use him, which we haven't done.
I think Simo will want to move on. Pity, because he is a decent keeper but at his age (prime of life for a keeper) he needs first team football. The question is will we replace him with a youngster (the lad at Peterborough?) or an ageing pro like Carlo Nash.

why the fuck would we have a clearout ?
We are in the prem and we need a bigger squad than we are used to having.
This is something that I have noticed this season, alot of people still have a "lower league" mentality when it comes to the size of our squad, and those who aren't in the first choice XI, its as if the assumption is they are shit, and that if they weren't free transfers then they were a waste of money, and we need to sell them to try to cut our losses.
We got promoted with a squad that wasn't big enough, or have enough strength in depth, it was bolstered by a plethora of loan signings, something we couldn't do once in the premier league, therefore we had to spend an awfull lot of money on squad players just to bring it upto the level it NEEDED to be at, they are not deadwood (with a few exceptions), there is no need for a massive clearout. Some of you are living on another planet

Exactly Dave, otherwise why the fucking hell on earth would Everton still have Andy van der Mayde on their books?

So Jose Mourinho is wrong in saying the perfect squad size in the PL is 24-26.
Would you rather have a massive squad of decent players or a decent size squad of top players with everyone fighting for a place

When we have a squad of players that Mourinho would bring himself to manage, thats when we should be bothered what the arrogant prick thinks.

IMHO Kitson, Griffin, Cresswell, Diao, Tonge, Camara and Olofinjana shouldn't and won't be anywhere near the first team squad next season, and if Soares and Davies are kept then they will be probably go out on loan. So there will be some sort of clear out. I can't beleive that anybody would think that Pulis would then deliberately keep the squad small by not replacing them.

A major clear out is not necessary, we need to be fine tuning the squad not starting from scratch again. Sure the squad needs pruning, but I would be looking at keeping most of it together and bringing in four or five quality players.

how about clearing these out and splashing a bit of cash on replacing each player with the one named below them. assuming boro and sunderland get relegated as my bbc predictor stated creswell ,soares, olifinjhana , tonge tuncay , o'neil , malbranque , k. richardson

That's more like it Chris.
I don't know if Pulis will be going after those specific players but I'm almost certain that he will be looking to replace the players you mention.

How about summer signings of Wheater, Tuncay, O'Neil, Stuart Taylor, Craig Gardner, Konchesky,
Sorenson Gardner-Shawcross-Wheater-Konchesky Lawrence-O'Neil-Ab.Faye-Etherington Beattie-Tuncay
Subs: Taylor, Fuller, Amdy Faye, Whelan, Delap, Wilko, Higginbotham

IE: Right back, left back, two centre mids and a striker. I probably wouldn't move Abdy into midfield as I think it is more likely that we could find a central midfielder that was his equal in midfield but I'm not sure that Wheater (would he come to us?) or indeed anybody else (within our budget) who would be as good as him as a centre back. I think your bench (but maybe with still Simmo) is absolutely bang on the money for next season.

I think Pulis might sign Kelly depending on how well he does these last games. Can't see Camara coming, he's been shocking.

yeah spence thats what i reckon too, also pericard can go but he's that useless we wouldn't need replace him with kitson and pericard out the way it'l make space for ZIGIC and there you have a team looking to "push on" after survival a bench of stephen kelly , o'neil , steed, richardson, tuncay, zigic and maybe a new centre half wouldn't look too bad at all
