My mate had a spare ticket to go and watch Wolves v Blues a few seasons back when we just missed out on the play offs. Ended up blues winning 3-2 (good result for us at the time) and wolves missing a pen in the last min

England v Scotland @ Wembley in Euro 96.
Also went the Holland game on the following Wednesday, but beating the Jocks just pipped the romp against the Dutch (including Hoekstra!!)

Fc Utrecht vs RKC in 2001. Proper old style ground with a great atmosphere, most of the songs were english and they did a decent 'oh when the reds'. Was wearing my stoke shirt and got a fair few comments off the locals. Stanley matthews and all that.

England v Russia at Wembley in 2006. Won 3-0 and was probably the best performance under McClaren
Not got many non-Stoke games to choose from, 10 England games an England U21 game and a Vale home game, so it was either this game or England's 4-0 win over Northern Ireland in 2005 that stood out as good games.

Everton V Bayern Munich semi final in the UEFA (I think) cup was a bloody classic.
Everton had lost the first leg in Germany 1-0 but Everton battered them at Goodison in the first half but failed to score and close to half time went 1-0 down 2-0 on aggregate.
In the second half Everton came out and ripped threm to shreds and won on the night 3-1 and went through 3-2 bloody brilliant night

Aberdeen v Real Madrid when Fergie belonged to the human race and not that of cow faeces. Other than that the first time I saw Peterhead play in the Scottish league. Both of those were through ancestral emotions!
In all seriousness it would have to be Real Madrid v Eintracht Frankfurt. The first neutral game I ever attended.

albion rovers 0 gretna 1 (a few years back)
sounds like an odd choice, but the match was full of flying tackles and bookings, there were about 100 people there in total, and we were all crammed into one tiny shitty terraced stand so there was loads of friendly banter.
the guy on the PA was hilarious too... kept making funny comments all the way through the game. as the teams ran out he went "hello and welcome to the sunny (it was pissing it down) san siro for todays crucial cup game... between your Albion Rovers and the scum from Gretna"
proper good day

Went to watch Home Utd v Albirex Nigata in the Singapore S League when I was travelling through Singapore in 2007.
The football wasn't great but it was good to sample and compare footy over there to over here.
Funny thing was when I arrived I asked this security guy where the ticket office was, so I went to the ticket office and it was shut so he ended up letting me in for free.
My Girlfriend and Sister were watching the match on tele back in the hostel where we were staying and the camera kept focusing in on me. Guess it was because I was the only non asian in the crowd.
Home United won 3-0 I think cus they had 3 African players who were rapid.

England v Greece, Old Trafford, prior to Japan World Cup. Was sitting just above crossbar level right behind the goal when Beckham bent the last minute free kick in. Quality of the highest order. (Also confess to being in the prawn sandwich section - does it still count ?)

Live: Bristol City 2 Hartlepool United 1 (AET) - second leg of the play-off semis - Marc Goodfellow scored the equaliser in the last minute with a header right into the bottom corner and I was sat right behind it!
The game wasn't high quality but the drama at the end was reminiscent of our match against Cardiff, though not nearly as satisfying for me and they went on to lose in the final anyway!
On TV: Port Vale 4 QPR 4 - I actually only saw the second half, but that's all I needed to see! ;D
