Lest we forget that it wasn't only Pulis and his supporters who were met with the most disgusting abuse by a few of these C*nts many of whom have now fuct off for good thank god, there was also the disgraceful slating of every player we signed, Delap was dubbed 'decrap', Lawrence was slagged off regularly, so many examples of how these scumbags who had backed themselves into a corner dealt out what can only be described as cowardly and traitorous attacks on what they liked to call their own club.

Pulis is not an 'enigma', he's a 'manager' - Learn to spell.

I really don't know what we're arguing about, in a way we were all wrong.
Absolutely no fucker anticipated where we are today, did they?
What he 'does' and the way he 'does' it, alienates some people.
The fact that he is one of the best in the business at what he 'does' has been a bit of a shock to us all.
It's fucking great though.

Well if you had been subjected to the most disgusting abuse for having the temerity to simply defend Pulis (everybody's new hero) I guess you wouldn't be so forgiving, like I said some of the worst examples like Portsmouth Potter and Hudsongod and Mr Ed don't show their face any more, so I'm sure we are all grateful for that.

You know when you think about it there are always a few cnunts around who are prepared to stoop to do things like threaten (because to do would mean to go) to stand behind the dug out of a new Stoke manager on his first game in charge and tell him to feck off.
Some of these cnunts chose to pick on players that were signed by a manager or a regime they did not approve of simply on that basis (Carl Hoefkins comes to mind) whilst showing the most ridiculous loyalty to wank players signed by a regime or manager they did approve of (Vincent Pericard comes to mind). The rest choose to continue to support without reservation the club regardless of the manager, the chairman or whatever other obstacle can be imagined through our attendance and backing of the team year in year out.

I've taken my share of kickings on here over the Pulis debate but it's kind of over until we either go down or he leaves..........then there will be blood again when I start collecting for his statue.

"The rest choose to continue to support without reservation the club regardless of the manager"
And some choose to go to Belgium and bum a non entity in our history as a by product of hating our most succesful manager for 30 years.
I'm not sure you can defend either side on this debate.

Er, hello never goes to games. Isn't that you mate? Backing our manager to the hilt but not enough to go and watch his team play for a 0-0 draw at home to Rotherham. Now we're in the Prem you have a season ticket. As for me, I go when I can, which is not every match unfortunately. Erm, I said at the start of the season that Pulis should stay on even if we do go down. Questions will need to be asked though, given the £30million he has spent.

Neither a "rimmer" or a "wankstain" but Pulis` first spell at the club was not in any way a disaster. He performed a minor miracle in keeping the cub up in 2002-3, and I seem to remember quite an enjoyable seaon followed. 2004-5 started well, finished well, but had a really poor middle third which people often refer to as binary football. Fact is, back in those days Stoke City were not even competing on a financial basis with other clubs in the division, we had a League 1 budget in the Championship.

Can anyone remember MOTD after the Middlesbrough game? You know, the game where our supporters were 'Lorded' as totally behind their club and how they would NEVER boo their own players etc. Well most of us knew that to be utter crap and, unlike Baggies fans, most of us don't blindly swallow our own hype. We have built a reputation this season as fantastic supporters who give unswervibg support to our manager and players. That has been completely accurate in terms of match day support but I am reminded of the proverbial swan. All calm, serean and beautiful above the water, but just below the surface there is a cancerous decease just waiting to destroy the unity that the past two seasons have instilled into this club. I'm not going to use the silly terms that have been invented for this stand-off but many of those who initially made their opposition and/or dislike of the manager abundantly clear, have had the good grace to acknowledge his achievements (if sometimes reluctantly). On the other hand, those who have always admired and supported the man, have often gone too far in over-stating their case and in condemning his detractors. I have fallen into this catagory myself at times as a result at frustration at some of the more vociferous negativity.
Enlightened, inteligent debate is a great thing but reading the last couple of pages of this thread is just incredibly depressing for anyone who delights in the 'new-found' unity of purpose at this club. The two camps are completely and utterly polarised and are simply searching for any and every excuse to justify their stance. this is NOT debate, it is a childish cancer that will eventually eat away at our club and, especially when results are bad, will explode into outright hostility with both camps sacrificing the good of the club to score points in the battle to be proved right.
If many in our midst are so dis-united at this fantastic and historic time for our club, what chance when the going gets tougher. So with my usual niaivity, I would ask that these totally unimportant and damaging child-like squabbles be set aside in the better interests of our unity of purpose i.e. proving to the world that Stoke City fans are much, much better than this!
Some will NEVER be whole-hearted in their positive appraisal of the manager, the rest of us have to accept that and respect an opposite opinion to our own. Those that can see no wrong EVER in the manager's decisions are equally infuriating the those with an opposite view. Can we please just accept the 'other guy's opinion' and put an end to this bollocks.
Debate by all means, even take the piss if it's funny, but this thread has degenerated into a play ground squabble that is not worthy of supporters that we know we are. we ALL love this club and we All want what is best for the club. We may differ on what that might be but this pathetic slanging match really should be put to bed.
