I'm assuming your one of those 10000 then? No mate, I haven't had a season ticket for a couple of years. And yes, I'm a real supporter as you call it, not some gloryhunting Sky league jeyboy. So do one. sit down mate, get off your high horse, wasn't me who was sticking for a glory boy.

Why are you coming out and saying this? either support your team what ever league we are in or don't bother! We don't really need to hear about you only wanting one if we are still in the premiership.

How am I a glory boy?
All I'm saying is the product of Championship football is not something I'm prepared to pay £200 every weekend for and incur the wrath of the Mrs.
If I still lived up Stoke and its a case of £15 for Championsjip football, or a night in Walkabout, theres only going to be one winner isnt there!

Well the simple option is not to buy one isnt it. I dont get to anything near as many Stoke matches as i would like because of the money it costs but i will get to 3 matches before the end of the season and it was the same amount when we were in the old 2nd division and every one of the 12,000 or so fan that was there was there to watch Stoke city and not the opposition.
If you want guarenteed Prem football every year old trafford/anfield etc would be happy to sell you a ticket im sure, if you want to support Stoke City Football Club then buy your ST and support them regardless of what league they are playing in

Obviously I dont want to support UTD or Liverpool. It's not really the point I was trying to make.
Just I'm willing to make the sacrifice of pretty much losing the Mrs, my Friends spend a small fortune to watch Stoke in the premier league.
In many ways its like me saying f you've not been to every away game your not a real fan.. Thats clearly a stupid comment. What good reason could you have for not going?

I cannot believe that anybody is interested in how long you work or the state of your relationship. Go or don't go - you won't be missed.

Does seem a strange thing to post. Unless, as suggested higher up you are just trying to "stir it". We all have decisons to make, choices to exercise. I can sympathise with your predicament in as much as you have a long, expensive, journey for every game...but so do many others and lots of them go to all the away games as well, whatever the division we are playing in. there you go...the sympathy vote...OK?

Its more the fact that I barely see her!
Anyway I cant believe this level of vitriole, and I dont believe for one minute that there are not thousands of others in the same boat.
Don't go you wont be missed. You my friend are the type of fan we don't need down Stoke.

Derby were and are still shite yet they get 27k + in the Champs. However, I think you're right we will lose a substantial number of recently acquired 'fans' and some long standing ones, for one reason or another.

i think season ticket numbers may be a little anyway, alot of people in stoke have lost their job, and finding 3 to 4 hundred quid could be pretty tough.
during this economic downturn it would have been a nice touch by stoke city if the current new prices were available past april 3rd

Now I know I'm going to get some stick but there must be a fair number who feel the same? I'm happy to pay the £200 every other weekend to watch my team play quality football against quality opposition. On the otherhand I'd only really make the effort in the Championship if I was going home for the weekend etc or it was a big game. No doubt this makes me not a proper fan but I'm being honest. It is a hell of a cost to pay both in terms of time and money to come to Stoke to watch them play Doncaster and for the football to be sh**. Went to Brentford on Saturday and spent the second half in the bar...... So anyway i think they should give a refund if they dont get prooted . I am more than happy to pay my money uo front for the product I want to buy. To be honest it feels a bit like price discrimination to force people to buy tickets they might not want. Ie Championship Football. As I may lose my seat etc if I dont buy. Thoughts? Tin Hat on Fair enough owd! but the cheapest season ticket makes it £19 a game. Which personally I think is still a pretty good price to pay for Championship football even... I think the Club have got the season ticket pricing bang on!! For the record I don't think we'll be playing Championship football next season!! Spot on - yes times are hard but for most that's really not expensive. Over the past two seasons but especially this one we've at last brought the Brit to life, it's the most positive and probably the most important thing in North Staffs right now and it's OURS, WE'VE made it like this. So even if we do go down, if you can possibly afford then Keep The Faith!

we've taken the plaudits, quite rightly, for our support this season. But going down will be the true test of what we're about.
As Laughing Gravy pointed out, Derby kept the same level of support as did Wolves and Leicester when they too were relegated.
We moan about gloryhunters, well, can we really not be called the same if we dropped by significant numbers due to relegation? We all know the answer to that, and whilst acknowledging the fact that some folk are skint, this season SHOULD have reinvigorated Stokies desire to see their team no matter what league we are in.
If we went down and sold less than 15k I really do think that would be poor imho. SOrry if that upsets a few.
I still can't believe we only sold 18k this season - how we didn't top atleast 20k I really don't know. First year back after 23 long, long years and some of the cheapest prices around. WHat more do some folk want?

I think you will see a dramatic drop in attendances in all divisions next season, including the Prem and including ours.
This isn't a recession, it's a depression and it's going to get a whole lot worse.

Ahhh the Championship where the pay on the gate punter is often in the majority. Shame that retarded, slime bag, Scholes has alienated most of them this season with his pathetic multiy buy system.

I know supporters that sit with me that are in a similar situation, they never moan and have not done for the past 12 years that I've been goin.

Not sure why everyone is having a go at this chap. We’d all like to live in an ideal world where every seat is filled by the same person week in week out irrelevant of the League we are in but I’m sure we only got 6k season ticket holders a few seasons ago in the third tier and that was with some ridiculous child prices (70 odd notes).
This bloke is in the majority of fans and is one of the people is making it more enjoyable for the other 12k fans (count from the Charlton game) who would turn up even if we weren’t enjoying life in the Premiership.
WCH & other people having a bit of a dig at Scholes are wrong though. The reason the prices are low now is because you might be purchasing a Championship season ticket. It’s to try a lure people into renewing, it probably could be described as price discrimination however that is just a good marketing tool and 100% above board. You can get in now or wait and pay the penalty, either way this is a very good idea by the club which would / is carried out by every other football club.

WCH you said "Only want a season ticket if we're in the Prem" I know this is stating the obvious, but why don't you simply buy a season ticket if we are still in the Prem? I doubt very much that all the season tickets will be sold before the season finishes, it's not like you have to make a decision right now is it? That's unless you object to not paying the early bird price for your ticket, but the early bird price is the price for Championship (if we do go down nobody gets a refund) football not Premiership football. Hope this helps.

OK well I'm signing up. The worst that will happen is that I'll only go to ten games or so. Can always give the matches i don't have the apetitie for attending to one of my mates.
I've had a couple of season tickets over the years. What I will say is visiting the Brit this season is the best experience ever. The half empty cold wenesday night against Blackpool just does not compare.
Anyway maybe I'm not in such a large group as I thought who would feel like this.
