The Fans Forum will be discussing this with the club very soon. We have already discussed this very briefly.
The brief discussions we had, we stated that
1) We did not wish to lose the atmosphere that has become so crucial this season 2) On the other hand we want progress on and off the pitch which would require finances 3) We cited examples such as Wedgwood, Woolworths, JCB etc that have meant that people in the area may not have as much disposable income
Taking all that into consideration, rewarding fans for their loyalty despite the economic downturn without affecting the progress of the club and after canvassing supporter opinion, we said that we thought a price freeze would be fair
Anyone who wishes to be a part of the further discussions, can come along.
Tollgate Hote - Wednesday 18th February
Meeting with the club 6-8pm AGM 8pm onwards

Bit of a daft question really, which Division will we be playing in Etc. They should be able to set the "early-bird" price irrespective of what division we're in. If (for example) it's £350 in the Boothen, that's equivalent to £18.42 per game in the PL, or £15.22 in the CCC. That differential seems about right to me.

I am unsure whether to get a season ticket, it would be a risk. NOT a risk in case we go down, but I'm not sure which uni I'll be at next year, could be Nottingham, Durham or Manchester, if I ended up at Durham it would be a waste

Could I please put forward to the Fans Forum to mention the idea of an away season ticket. It would make life much more easier for supporters who travel to all the away matches.

i got one to guarantee your ticket you can always get a ccc ticket but prem are harder to get
i will have the added expense of another child soon plus my wife works away quite a few weekends she has told me i cant have one next year - but i told her whist we are in prem i will get one
it is easier to sell or give your ticket for a prem game you cant attend than get one for a game you can
a prize freeze should be the minimum gesture from the club in these current times

Darlington's where it's at! If I go manchester, egtting back is no problem every weekend. Nottingham, a bit more difficult, but do-able. But Durham, about 4 hours drive isn't it??

Whatever Uni you end up at, I trust that it'll be one that offers a calming influence and has an accent on spelling and anger management. ;D

I cant see many being able to afford 2 season tickets mate. Also what about people that can only attend 3 or 4 away games a season weather it be by cash flow or just choice? It's bad enough trying to get a ticket now unless you went to Swindon town away in 1948.

I will mention the idea of an away season ticket and see what the club have to say.
One idea that I thought of was a scheme similar to the F.A. Cup automatic debit scheme instead of the cost of another season ticket booklet.
This would have the same outcome without an extra booklet and you dont have to go an queue up as the tickets would come in the post
The only problem you would have to think of is
1) Where would you be allocated to sit 2) What about games such as Man Utd etc where there are multi-priced tier tickets

Cheers Wakefield. It is worth looking into for sure, I think WBA offer a away season ticket so maybe it would be worth looking into how they sell theres.
I can't see what the problem is Stafford myself, as they would not sell and you would not have to purchase one in aid to attend away matches. It would be a good opition for away fans like myself who attends all the matches, with Stoke posting out our tickets it would mean no more queuing up after home games and avoiding the hassle of going up during the week.

It's bad enough trying to get a ticket now unless you went to Swindon town away in 1948. Any system of qualification for obtaining away tickets is going to seem harsh on certain people, but if someone is prepared to commit in advance to going to every away game, then it would certainly go some way towards addressing the priority issues.

I would go for the away ticket debit thing like FA cup tickets. The games I dont want to attend I could then just sell the ticket.

The West Brom system works that they automatically send you the tickets and take the money from your account but, if for any reason you can't or don't want to go, they will buy them back.
Sounds like a good system for me for those that, in general, would want to go and would form most of the priority people by the current Stoke system.
So you have to join a small queue up if you want to sell the tickets back rather than a big queue to get them in the first place.

Foregatedave that is a system that we should be looking into, I imagine it would be useful for our supporters who don't live in the area. Let's be honest, we wouldn't sell a great deal of them either, 150-200 tops I would say.

i know this must be like banging your head against a wall but please ask them why the official site cant be updated on a more regular basis RE ticket sales i.e Pompey is sold out and this hasnt been announced on the official site, why cant they do it so they change the article in the ticketing section for each match every few days or something 'now xxxx remaining' wouldnt be too difficult would it and why arent they still not telling us what the away allocations are!!!!?!?!?!
|
|
|
Post by BoothenenderGaz on Feb 17, 2009 17:48:01 GMT
I will do that
They always ask for examples and I will use that particular one, although, in fairness I could use any away game this season as an example
It is not hard to inform us of the allocation and tell us when it is sold out

Could you please raise something at the Fans Forum for me. I'm a season ticket holder, but I don't live in the UK, so can't attend all home games.
I would like to be able to offer my seat back to the club to re-sell for matches I can't attend. I'm sure I can't be the only person in this position. Obviously, if the club is able to operate a system like this, they would gain the extra revenue on the same seat.
I will be flying in for the Portsmouth game, but it's very frustrating to know my seat is empty when it could be sold for the benefit of the club and other supporters who can't get tickets when I'm unable to come, e.g Man Utd on Boxing Day.

When we went to Old Trafford I noticed that ManU seem to have some sort of scheme for the reselling of Season tickets. I'm not saying everything ManU do is good (far from it!) but maybe the SCFC could check and see what sort of schemes various Premiership clubs offer their fans. Or perhaps the Fans Forum could do it and report back to the fans and the club?

What is the situation with renewing but reseating?
I.E. My old man has a season ticket in JS lower this year but wants to move across to me and my mates in The Boothen next season. How does he go about doing that? He obviously wants to renew at the early prices but then wants to move his seat to Boothen.
