Just an observation - when I started this thread I said if anyone had skills to offer on a voluntary basis and seeing the skills we've got on here between us that aren't being used, we could probably have built someone a house. First thought is what a bloody waste, second thought is actually, why don't we? Publicity for a voluntary project might even help a few people get fixed up with something, or is that just my rose-tinted specs?? like what sal, build a house?? for who?? whos got some ground with planning permission My ex's folks have just got planning permission to build a house on a plot of land they brought about 20 years ago. He is currently planning to do it all himself, with a mate, so theres your house to build

And call it The House That Stokies Built Love to Sal (and as a qualified senior PM Prince2 practitioner) I would be ideal, but running a junior footy club and vice chair of the seniors, that takes all my spare time at the moment, especially as we were awarded the FA Charter development club award this week, and setting up a girls section next season (3 new teams) it would not go down too well with er indoors. I'll offer some advice if needed

I work in recruitment and we are currently recruiting Retail Advisers (sales/customer service staff) throughout the UK. Take at look at www.faceofvodafone.co.uk or www.voiceofvodafone.co.ukI know we don't have any positions in Stoke at present but we have vacancies (working in store) coming up in Salford, Manchester, Derby etc. You can also register with us online and search for other job roles in various sectors @ www.adecco.co.uk/Pages/default.aspxIt may be worth a punt, you never know. Just found this on here www.moneysavingexpert.com/protect/grant-grabbing It may help? Claiming Job Seekers Allowance? Each Job Centre Plus around the UK has a little-known 'Advisor Discretion Fund' which can provide jobseekers with a grant of up to £300 in any 12-month period, to help cover the costs of transport, childcare, work clothes, tools and more (during the job search or to enable an offer of employment to be accepted) if an advisor believes it'll make the transition back into work easier. The cash can be requested for any reasonable expense yet no one has a right to the money and it’s completely at the discretion of each JCP advisor. Previously the grants have only been available to people who have been unemployed for six months or more; but now everyone claiming Job Seekers Allowance, or on one of the New Deal schemes, is eligible from day one. For 2009/10 over £23 million has been set aside to cover the fund so if you think it’ll help you, speak to an advisor at your local Job Centre Plus.

A place called Culina in Stafford. To be honest it looks a good place to work and could see it being another 10/15 year job as long as things go well. The lads that work there seem OK as well which always helps. Would be nice to do that until about my mid 50's then get myself a small van and do electrics to keep me tickin over. ;D Just waiting for a start date now. It will be nice to have a proper secure (ish) job again.
