All quiet on the job front? Is anyone using this thread to look back through, is it worth keeping it pinned? Keep it pinned duck. There isn't much work about & us Stokies need all the help we can get. It's a good idea, nice one Sal. ;D

I am after some feed back really folks, I am working on a new small business idea and am not sure if I will set up a new base (stoke area) or sell it as a franchise. It's basically delivering and setting up equipment, all hours, 24/7. Just need to be a reliable, decent, deliver driver really. What I need to know is, are there people out there will their own vans who would work on a self employed basis, work is very well paid but is sporadic i.e. sometimes shed loads and others time quiet. PS when i say new venture, i mean linked in with an existing business not new start up That sounds really interesting OTW, one of my old jobs was an event tech a couple of years ago and loved it best job I ever had. I am stuck in an office 9-5 and it's doing me head in, thing is I love driving and working different hours (sad eh but that is just me, so i'd be well interested either way.

No me neither, yep I completed on on-line. But after speaking with a woman today at another group interview she said that she went for the maths and english test before xmas on the first advert and she said that it was so pressurised and stressful. But as they say things happen for a reason and another job has our name on it

Just posted this on the car insurance thread but may be of use to anyone struggling at the mo. I went to the dole today and said I would have to reduce the distance I can travel to seek work as I couldn't afford to keep my jeep on the road. They gave me £350 towards the tax and insurance. Bonus. They also said that when the mot is up to take them a quote to pass it and they may be able to help with that as well. Thank you Mr Brown.

I went for the DWP numeracy tests etc last week, passed and had my final interview today. No idea how it went though. Apparently it could take a month or so to find out and then longer for a vacancy to come up. the money is poor but at least its 9-5. In the meantime Ive got the chance to do 3 months temp work but including Saturdays in Liverpool. Money is great but potentially I might miss the rest of our home games unless I can wangle it. Real dilemma but family first I guess
