warm front is a joke, the government gives the contracts to the lowest bidder.
one of my mates live in meir and was told that his system wasnt suitable for a combi boiler ;D ;D
the contractors who turned up, managed to flood the house, did a real botch job, infact his mrs appeared on the one show when they did a section on it.
not saying it was your fault mate, it happened a couple of years ago

good, another day no job, sentivale is full of shit. this dole bollocks is begining to look like a career choice It's shit isn't it? Jobs that I know I can do end up asking for things that I haven't got like experience in that field or a full driving license. Really don't know why some companies are being a bit picky in this current time

Really don't know why some companies are being a bit picky in this current time they can get exactly what they want and cheaper at times like this. when are you guys eligible for re-training? 1000, ever though about going into general maintenance or A/C? normally plenty of work out there for good maintenance engineers rather than just sticking to installation?

I work for the Home Learning College as a course advisor. I enrol students from all backgrounds including those currently not in employment. All our courses are professionally focused and industry approved (e.g. AAT, ICB, Microsoft, Comptia, CIW). I do know for a fact that the jobcentre will not fund these courses, it's something you have to fund yourself. People out of work seem to manage as 70% of our current enrolments are currently out of work.

I found out yesterday morning that I've passed all the extrance exam, aptitude test and interview for a role with the DWP - they've put me on a waiting list to work in Shropshire. At last!! Just waiting for a start date I'm over the moon about it because - and this isn't meant to sound arrogant at all, just matter of fact - the two degrees I've got have pushed me way out of the line for the admin jobs I've been applying for just to get something coming in. I've been literally begging for jobs. TK Maxx, Tesco, Asda - the lot. I totally empathise with 1000 - there is nothing out there at the moment and it's really hard. I've been turned down for lots of things that I've ironically previously turned down years back. Fingers crossed for you 1000 - I honestly hope something comes up. If I come across anything I shall post it up on this for you

We have bid the DWP contract and down to the final two, our CEO and the DWP are doing a tour of the building I reside in, one of four in Warrington, and they have said we can't have dress down Friday

I've been trying to get an accounting business take me on so I can start the apprenticeship I've been provisionally accepted for at Babington Business College but I've only had a few businesses that have even made the effort to reply at the moment. I know it's a long shot but If anyone knows of any accounting firms that may be willing to take on an apprentice It'd be greatly appreciated!

I know a lad who got accepted and it took 6 months before he started work!

Hi Potteringthrough - Not yet matey, but there's been a recruitment freeze within the DWP which has now just been lifted apparently. So every day I'm pretty much still applying for jobs and yet waiting for the phone to ring with a lovely lass from the DWP giving me a start date. You have to keep your chin up.

Anyone know of any customer service jobs going in Newcastle or Stoke. Just been let down by Vodafone and am seriously skint as I put everything I had into that and have loans and an overdraft to pay. This recession is doing my head in

No joy yet, Salopstick, but found out that I am now on the Merit List rather than the waiting list, so good guns but no official news yet. No-one has been posted to any of the Shropshire Jobcentres yet, also. I know exactly how you feel, PeterCoatesWallet. I can't get any joy at all regarding any jobs around here - I've this last week been applying for jobs in both Manchester and Liverpool, but from where I am (and I don't know how you are finding things) but everything has seriously dried up since August - there has been a massive shift since then and it's frightening. Personally, I've resigned myself to my fate for now - still trying, but there is literally nothing more I can do.
