A must read for all proud fans. On the BBC football page (Benitez remais defiant) there is a great paragraph from Phil McNulty describing how the Britannia Stadium was like a bearpit , raw, and a throwback to how things used to be. Nice one Phil

'The Britannia is a raw and exciting footballing experience, unwelcoming temperatures and hostile home fans, with the action all played out in a noisy, bearpit atmosphere that is a real throwback'

I know it isn't going to happen until we are established as a Prem side - but if we can create that sort of atmosphere now, imagine what we could do if the corners were all filled in!

Unfortunately if we are an established Prem side we'll probably be munching prawn sarnies and leaving 20 minutes early ;D

It has been fantastic for atmosphere at the Brit this season and it is very reminisent of the Vic in the 70's.
One thing I miss though is the Aerosol foghorn that used blair out of the boothen everytime we won a corner. BRING IT BACK!

There was a comment from a neutral on bbc's 606 yesterday saying that Stokies were a credit to the Premier League and he hoped we stayed up. A lot of fans see us as a bit old school which is a plus in their minds. Mind you, Derby's fans were pretty good last season, without much to cheer about, if our performances on the pitch were as wank as theirs do you think the fans would still be so passionate? Let's hope we don't find out

That's strange, the Sunday Times also describes the Brit as a ''bearpit'' today. I thought yesterday's atmosphere was probably the best all season.

The atmosphere last night was cack compared to how it normally is. Compared to what????? The Villa match??? possibly. But if you compare last night to the last few matches and definately Derby then last night was a hundred times better!!!!!

We could do with the airhorn back, then get the old "City" song going again, happy days.

Get those corners filled in and we'll be like Milwall of old but with a football team.

I sat next to the Stoke dug-out and from there it was rather quite. It was that quite I could hear Kitson talking with the other players. I even heard a fart.

I'd love to get some of the old songs back to make it even more intimidating... "We'll see you all outside" etc. We don't have to be violent, just make idle threats.

Happy daysSureley there must be somebody who sits in the middle of the boothen who can take an air horn to games so we can all sing "City" "City" (only twice though) everytime we win a corner? Do we have to start a campaign? BM

The atmosphere is great when an opposing team get a corner in front of the Boothen/Seddon stand, wouldn't like to be the player walking up to that.
I can only remember one corner in front of us yesterday and Gerrard bottled it, Lampard got it more than anyone I've ever seen down there, Ronaldo didn't even dare take a corner until it was at the other side of the pitch.

Did anyone else pick up TPs comment in the post-match interview with our Nige where he very clearly indicated (without using the words) that he wished the atmosphere was like that for every game.

The press pick up on and bang on about us being one dimensional, the mud sticks, those unattached to Stoke City believe this, the press also pick up on and are now reporting that the Brit is a "bearpit" and a ground with an atmposhere akin to the eighties I love this and this will grow and grow, and I believe that we will see atmospheres which will rival if not surpass those of the Victoria. Well done to all vocal Stokies
