What colour was the Porsche?
My mate back there has a black one but not sure if he has a private plate on it. Speaking of which, is Johnny Evans an ugly twat ? ;D

Just something I'm wondering. Why would a player coming from Manchester to Stoke be driving round Weston Coyney. Surely M6 to A500 to Brit and then back again is easy enough without getting lost in the Longton area.

If Coalville (aka Toyland ) has been renamed Weston Heights, does it mean that this son of Park Hall can walk those streets without fear now? It was a no go area when I were a lad. Even big Johnnie B avoided it .

Coalville was never a no go area? It was tough community that stuck together many times when things got a bit rough. A few feuding families but some tremendous nights in the Blythe. As for why JE 1100 would be there I dunno it just looked remarkably like Johnny Evans though it may just have been a coincidence

Are you being serious on the "Weston Heights" thing?? I thought it was a wind up.
Used to think it was a wonderful place when I was little and going school there.
Not many places that a lad bets you he dares have a shit in front of a girl so that he can play footie with you ;D

Yeah they have knocked down most of the East street side of the estate and rebuilt new houses and the regeneration goes on.

Sidders - just sent a text to my mate to see if it was him. His could be considered charcoal and by all accounts its a dream of a car. I'm still right in thinking that porsche 911 are relatively uncommon in the Weston Heights area

Where have they moved the locals to then? There's families that have been on there forever?

Well... Since the mobile phone trading a few years back it wasn't uncommon to see a Bentley sport or a Ferrari or Porche up and down Dividy Road

Obviously your memories differ from mine, sidders. Coalville was the only place I ever got assaulted (twice) while I was growing up in the 70s and both times for no reason apart from the fact that I wasn't from there. If you count having a live firework thrown at your face I suppose you could call it three times. Just loved that old-fashioned community spirit

Well when the mines closed many families moved down to Mossfields just opposite the Waggon & Horses in Bentilee others moved away too. Houses got bulk sold and many a nomad family would move in and move out. It caused a bit of trouble as the older residents did not like it. However with the new project many of the families have been bought out and then a deal has been done to move them back into the shiny new houses. Still not sure what they are going to so with the in-laws house yet . It was one of the houses that got the face lift about 5-6 years ago.

Face lift - that would be the brick exterior and the new windows? I never lived on there myself, I was on Holyhead Crescent, but never worried about wandering round there or playing down the fields when I was little. Then again I was mates with most of the little headcases at the time If you were on the Hill they must've hated you ;D

MD, I raised doubts over the combination almost immediately after we'd signed Cort. Defensively, Cort isn't all that clever for a £1 million centre half, and, personally, I don't think Shawcross and Cort compliment each other all that well. His goals will undoubtedly prove invaluable, in saying that. You've got to weigh it up - Cort's goals against Cort's defensive shortcomings. I personally think that we'd of been better served looking to bring in a player with potential and who is a more convincing player at the back. Although both, as you say, could form part of a solid partnership, we are conceding goals at a rate currently where we're looking at getting 3 or 4 goals a game to win - not ideal in anyone's book. I think the Cort deal is a short sighted and would certainly not rank in examples of TP's most astute bits of business.........still, if we go up in May, he will have been vindicated in his decision to opt for Leon. Lets hope so! (I know this post appears as if I am addressing someone who has yet to comment on this thread....but MysticalDescent did post.....and then it was deleted.....honest ;D)

Not sure CP.
I would remind everyone, though, that Simmo has been the common figure throughout our previous resolute back lines under TP.
I suppose his short comings haven't been highlighted with the likes of Higgy and Tags in front of him.
I just don't think that Shawcross is the ideal player to partner Cort, and vice versa.

Diao should provide some protection to the backline I would think. You can now sort of understand where Warnock was coming from with Cort by the looks of it.
I wouldn't be surprised to see another player brought in at the back in the window and I would hope that Wright goes back. I can only base it on radio commentary though obviously and comments made on here.

Well I suppose if there is anyone who can knock a defender into shape then its Pulis, unless its Broomes or Williams, well even a messiah has flaws

What the hell, where did my post go? It disappeared into cyberspace.
Say we got a Taggart character in, who would you drop out of Shawcross and Cort? Both have had a hand in conceded goals recently and I have doubts about both.

I would have to say Cort though I am sure Cort will prove to be a top player for us.
