Hope it is bollox!! Could not quite believe the adoration he got off some fans when bar the first few games he played for us he was consistantly poor.

It is just wishful thinking by our very own poster, RAF, I should think. He thinks if he spreads the rumour widely enough it will become a self fulfilling prophecy. ;D

Hope it is bollox!! Could not quite believe the adoration he got off some fans when bar the first few games he played for us he was consistantly poor. Because he turned our season around. We where sinking without trace until he arrived and lifted the whole place. Yes he wen't poor after several games but by then we were already on the up and signed several other big name players.

There were tales going around that Robson offered Hendrie to Stoke weeks ago after a fall out.

don't think he will come, anyway isn't he injured all the time
got to admit I liked him being in the team, not so good in the 2nd half of the season but think with a fit Hendrie we would get auto promotion
I'm just off to take my medication now

Hmm, to be honest yes he did turn it around but then was a consistent mouthy let down almost the whole time afterwards. He was a bit of a talisman though, he definitely bothered other teams. I'm still trying to see my way past what a pathetic little prat he is as a human being. I'd like to think we could do as well or better with someone younger, but in spite of all those reservations I wouldn't mind seeing him back.
I'm not washing his Ferrari though.

Would love to see him reunited with Diao in our midfield.
Funny how supporters found his Ferrari jibe amusing when he played for us and when he leaves, he is dubbed a gobby mercenary.
He went Sheffs Utd for the money - who can blame him. If we can get him back in Jan, I'd welcome him with opens. I want the best players to turn out for Stoke, I'm not bothered if he has a kiln tattooed on his arm or not.

I just don't think he'd be good for us. This team don't need him in it to progress.

I don't see how he wouldn't be good for us. If he could give the same lift he did during his initial loan spell last time.
Obviously there is a threat that he may disrupt the team spirit which is so clearly visible at the moment. But having said that, who better than Tony Pulis to ensure the spirit in the dressing room is kept high.

neutron, but we don't need a lift. The team are playing very well without him. If we were in the dumps and needed a lift then I might think differently. Who would you drop in the side to make room for him?

Okay, we may not need a lift, maybe I used the wrong word there. He would give us a spark in the centre of midfield. It's not always a case of dropping someone, moreso a matter of getting more bodies in the squad to allow us to change things around if the game is going our way.

Eustace, Delap, Mattaeo...........hes a better player than them all. With him and Diao in the team we could start playing through the midfield. Then the ball can be played to Fullers feet without needing the mama flick on, therefore taking the big donkey out of the team and allowing Creswell to move upfront with Fuller and bringing Phillips on the left. Simonsen Zakuani - Shawcross - Cort - Pugh Lawrence - Hendrie - Diao - Phillips Fuller - Cresswell Looks a whole lot better to me....

i think he would make us a completely better team. him and diao in the middle with lawrence and pugh/cresswell on wings. or hendrie on the left with diao and eustace in the middle. it would be excellent if we signed him. not that i think the rumour is true like ;D

Id still go with putting Pugh at left back, arguably played his best stuff since his arrival there. Cresswell would certainly go upfront for me with Diao and Hendrie ( theoretically ) sliding balls into feet there would be no need for Mama, cos lets be honest, ive seen Giraffes on roller blades that look more comfortable with the ball at their feet than he does, if it isn't in the air to flick on with his head he is clueless.
Id really like to see us get the ball down and get the ball out on the wings, Phillips clearly has pace to burn and would scare the sh ite out of defenders driving down the left, i dunner care about how small he is not every player has to be 6ft+ and built like a tank to play football.

Parker "ive seen Giraffes on roller blades that look more comfortable with the ball at their feet than he does, if it isn't in the air to flick on with his head he is clueless."
What a load of tosh, Mamma is great on the ball and takes a lot of knocking off it, his problem IMO he's got a mental block / panic when he approachs the penalty area. If he could shead that problem I think he would already be playing in the Prem.

The big issue with Hendrie is not his quality but his fitness. He's certainly better than some of our options but he seemed to be constantly struggling with his knee when with us, the second time most certainly. He's also been injured for large parts of this season at Sheffield. I'm not sure you'd get a full month out of him at present, let alone a season, but if his fitness has improved from last time, then he'd be more than welcome to my mind. But is he any fitter? He would be a lot of money to waste if you're paying for someone who's always playing/struggling with injury. Personally I'd prefer a younger, fitter version if one can be found.

ok then Playing in the prem, well that more than made me smile ;D. Mama is used to flick the ball on for Fuller from the ball over the top, he does this very well im not denying that, but hes scored a total of.......0......this season. He is an apparent striker, a strikers job is to score goals, a midfielders job is to supply the goals......Cresswell and Fuller upfront with 2 decent midfielders who can pass would be more fruitful imo than a Mama Sidebe " filck on ". With Fuller going through a bit of a rough patch we have had no other striker to rely on really, our centre backs are more of a threat upfront than mama FACT! Can i join the Mama Sidebe club please ?

I'm not on about his goal scoring record which I readily admit is abysmal but what he gives to the team in holding the ball up and laying it off speaks for it self. No Mamma! No points! and we don't have to go back very far to see this. Hendrie I would't have the arrogant little sh@t in my team if we were given him, he's nothing but a trouble maker and bad for moral, just out for the money IMO, let the Blades pay him.

Canaladict, the reason for that was no body in midfield with an ounce of a clue how to hold the ball up so the thing comes straight back without Mama there. However with Salif no in the squad we have a player who can both hold up play bu also dictate the pace of play from the middle why then would we need a non scoring sort of striker? I like Mama's work ethic and he does what he does for the good of the team but I think we can possibly ill afford him not bagging a few goals where there is a possibility of Cressy up front and him and Fuller spearheading a promotion challenge.

I reckon Mamma nearly always scores coming off the bench. I might be wrong though, its just what seemed to happen last season.

I agree. Fuller will always be the number 1 striker, but the number 2 needs to contribute with a few aswell, which im sure Cresswell could do given his scoring ratio from the left wing !!! With Diao here now i'd like to see us get it on the deck and build our attacks through him passing out of midfield, leaving Mama a bit surplus to requirements. But im sure this won't happen

Id like us to go for an attacking midfielder ala Whelan or Howard of Barnsley or move Lawrence in and get an out and out winger such as Routledge freeing up Cresty to play up front. We can but hope.
