He's under contract, so we don't have to sell, unless a large fee meets a release clause that he might have. Otherwise any suitors can walk the walk but they'll have to go home emptyhanded. Would be interesting to know if he has a release clause wouldn't it? I'm hoping not and he's here for the foreseeable future as he's the best keeper we've had for a good while. He'd be foolish not to have one, but which figure is anybody's guess. We have to face the likelihood that like Rotherham was a step back towards the top, Stoke is another step in that direction. He was previously with Villa and Leicester but never played for them, presumably because they had better keepers ahead of him. He is a Swedish international, so he's bound to see his future prospects with his country better served with a PL club or similar in another country, not to mention personal ambitions of course. The way things are midtable SToke seems unlikely to serve those needs, but he's still relatively for a keeper; his best years are ahead of him, so, with any luck, we might get at least one more season's service from him. As leaky as our defence is, he'll have plenty of opportunities to learn, improve, and impress just staying here.

Looks like Mmaee’s currently injured with no return date having played 1.5 games less than Gallagher. So looks even less likely to happen.

I'm just hoping there wasn't a release clause in his contract as that gives us more of a chance of keeping hold of him as he's a bloody good keeper. Win today would be great. UTMP 😁

I wouldn't have thought so. He signed really early, if he wanted to hold out for a better deal etc then surely he would of waited He probably thought he was joining a PL promotion chasing club and that he'd be playing there next season.

Need- centre back. Centre midfielder. Another winger. Striker. At least. I’d add a right back to the list, and probably another striker/ midfielder. We were poor today despite the win against a dreadful side.
I wish I could share the optimism of some but we’re mikes off challenging.

I can’t see us getting another centre mid in while we have Pearson on the books

who says ? , we didn’t spend that much in the summer ? About £4m in transfer fees? Probably at £2m in loan fees We got £500k in? A load should depend on wages right? In 2022/2023 accounts they'd dropped from £35m to £28m. Income £31m + you're allowed £13m losses so £44m spending power. If you drop wages by £1m and you sign people on 4-year contracts then that's the same for FFP as a £4m signing fee. No idea what that means for our position mind!

After Seko’s performance and the positive news re Lawal I’d say we need
Target man type to give us a plan B Cundle on a perm for the long term and cover for Moran. A top CB to play alongside Phillips A winger with pace

Ideal window would be
Outs: Pearson Ennis Vidigal Gooch
Ins: Right back to rival Junior Centre mid who’s quite powerful Striker in similar mould to Gallagher Winger with pace
Then in the Summer get a centre half in

I really don’t think we need too much. Defence is still a concern 7 years on. Maybe a squad striker. Getting the team playing in a formation and tactics to suit is a bigger issue

Stoke fancy Aasgaard but he will cost according to Nixon

Stoke fancy Aasgaard but he will cost according to Nixon Stoke City are in the queue for Wigan’s exciting star Thelo Aasgaard - but will have to pay £3 million. Top spy Jon Walters and sidekick Lee Darnborough watched Norwegian under-21 cap Aasgaard last week. Blackburn failed in a bid for Aasgaard in the last window but the Potters are likely to top their offer and get closer to the valuation. Stoke are keen to improve their squad and have even been to Ukraine in recent weeks to scout for bargains. And they also plan to make an offer to keep Tom Cannon in January when his loan from Leicester City comes up for review.

Think centre back and a good winger are probably most important at the minute We got no impact really from the bench I reckon we will be looking at Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu again for centre back, who id gladly take alongside Phillips.rose wilmot and Gibson really scare me

www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/ukraineForeign office still advises against "all but essential travel" to Ukraine. But we are a bit desperate, so I get it! Can't shake the image of Walters and Darnbrough trudging around Donetsk after a big centre-half now. Not sure I'd be looking into getting Tom Cannon for the kind of fee he'd cost? Does it indicate there is decent wiggle room for us to spend? Although reading the line in question, does it suggest we're just going to offer more to keep him on loan until the summer, rather than sign him- to stop Leicester moving him elsewhere in Jan "when it's up for review"?

He was the best player on the pitch. Scandinavian name but born and bred in Liverpool. footballleagueworld.co.uk/stoke-city-eyeing-wigan-athletic-transfer-swoop/

Pelach will know him from Huddersfield won’t he? Yes, he would have been with him when he was at Huddersfield. He’s a good player, wouldn’t mind him at all. Lewis O’Brien is set to sign for LAFC in the New Year - despite a handful of English sides want him back home. Midfielder O’Brien has a fixed price of £7 million agreed with Nottingham Forest when his loan ends in January. And LAFC expect the move to go through although some Championship clubs making background inquiries. Leeds and Hull City have been checking on possible availability but O’Brien is settled in the States and enjoying his time on and off the pitch.

Presumably “LAFC” is Los Angeles? £7m seems a bit steep, don’t see us being able to compete with that kind of transfer fee.
