This guy is tying himself in knots and the players are playing as if they are confused to . Keep it simple said Bob Paisley years ago . Nowadays every coach tries to be Peo . I’ve never heard the word transition or inverted fullbacks or the word press before he racked up . Try pass it to the nearest red and white shirt .Put your foot in . Close them down . Wanting a possession based game, when too many of the players are scared to death when they get the ball & get rid of it like it was a grenade,& end up giving the ball away.

Be brave on the ball is required just as Southampton did at Man City on Saturday. That’s the job of the coach and that’s what I expected when Chico rocked up . But I’ve not seen any sign of it so far whatsoever. I’ve seen Sam Allardyce. Tony Pulis style football ( Portsmouth apart) and teams penning us back because we are insisting on a two man midfield. Thompson just isn’t mobile . Where is Sidibe ? Has Seko got BO ? Moran is not Cundle .

To answer the question asked is fairly easy Having a inexperienced man in charge trying to play a game he hasn't got the players to do it Now if he was any good he would realise this and adjust his playing style to suit what he has in front of him but unfortunately he's to focused on a certain way to play

The poster you quoted only gave half the quote and you took it at face value without looking at what he actually said. If Pelach had rocked up without some sort of a plan and spent half a dozen games working out what he was going to do he would have got criticised for not having a plan. As it is he's bring criticised for putting in the ground work and having a plan. There's also a world of difference between having a plan and sticking rigidly to it, tearing it up at the first opportunity and adapting the plan according to circumstances. People on here are saying he should tear up the plan. Pelach is saying the players are adapting well and he's actually bringing things forward. He's looking at the long game, not just panicking because we aren't all of a sudden winning every game. If Pelach's plan has inbuilt predictive flexibility then that's all good. Seriously, I want him to (eventually) turn us into play off contenders but we appear so far from that at the moment. I'm not hating on him, I want him and his plan to work, without question or hesitation. I hope to goodness he is looking at the long game, but in the here and now, we have won one from eight, and we are having to endure an eye watering number of shots raining down on our keeper, who I suspect had occasionally quieter games at Rotherham. We had a significant rebuild in the summer and sacked the manager after five games. Yes the team isn't exactly firing on all cylinders but why is that surprising anyone? Pelach is very much a coach with ideas and he's got a young squad willing to learn. If he had an experienced squad more set in it's ways then adapting the game plan to the players would make some sense because he could lean on their experience but adapting a game plan for players still wet behind the ears doesn't sound like a great idea to me. Pelach was brought in specifically to mould and shape a young squad. That is going to take time and there will be ups and downs along the way. In terns if a promotion push this season was a right off when we sacked Schumacher. This is a long term project. The way I see it this season os effectively next years preseason and I'm going to judge whether Pelach is doing his job on how we are playing at Easter not the end of October. For me he has to be allowed to do what he believes is right - if he were to lose confidence in what he's doing and starts listening to armchair coaches and their half baked ideas he really should be sacked.

I've got the answer.
Buy a 7 foot giant centre forward from anywhere as he doesn't have to be that good other than jumping and getting flick ons aka the " Mama role " play Koumas and Tezgel either side of him as per Fuller.
Everybody else in the team just humps it.

Midfield far too light weight and offer no protection to our already poor defence…add to that our best midfielder usually gets booked within 15 mins n can’t put a tackle in for the next hour or so, all these things add up🔴⚪️

I didn't watch yesterday's game, but as soon as I saw the line-up I predicted what would happen. A 2 man midfield would be walked through again, and 3 central defenders would be backing off to their own penalty box, meaning most of the game would be played in the area between the halfway line and our penalty area. It would only be a matter of time before Sheff Utd scored. With 1 man up-front, and that man being Tom Cannon, we'd have no out ball, so that would only result in the ball coming back into our half as soon as we cleared it. I haven't checked the stats, but I'm guessing that's how it played out? Anyway, the stats from previous games don't lie. We've been dominated by every side we've played against other than Portsmouth. That was the game when we had Gallagher fit: the target man needed to make a 4-4-2 work. Having someone who the ball sticks to up front means our defenders, who are pretty shit on the ball, can afford to go long, bypass the midfield and move the game into the opponent's half. Ideally though, we need 2 extremely fit centre-mids (not got them) and 2 wingers who can get up and down the line getting crosses in (not got them), so to be honest I don't know why we persisted with this for as long as we did. We just haven't got the players for it. So what should we do instead? Ideally, I'd play either 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-3, but again we need a forward who the ball sticks to. The defence can't be trusted to pass the ball out because they're abysmal. Going more direct is the safer option. Gallagher leading the line with a lively 2 or 3 behind him (Manhoef, Junho, Koumas) picking up the pieces would, in my opinion, turn us from the dross we're witnessing now to a top-half side. Without Gallagher though, we need to revert to 4-3-3 immediately. If Burger plays CDM we'll have someone within range of the defence who can pick the ball up from them fairly safely and transition the ball from defence to attack. We should play Junho and Manhoef as inside forwards cutting in from either wing and try to get the full-backs overlapping a bit to give us width (Easier on the left than the right if we're having to play Wilmot at RB). It's not ideal, but in Gallagher's absence, Koumas should lead the line. He's hardworking, stronger than Cannon, and has the pace to get in behind. We're not going to trouble the top of the table, but this, in my opinion, would see us staying out of trouble this year. If the manager doesn't sort it out within the next couple of games, then he has to go before he causes any more damage. The first paragraph of this is indicative of the mindset of the fan base

"But they are listening and learning a lot, how to prevent, for example, the goal we conceded against Bristol (City) from a quick corner - we could have avoided it very easily. If you have an older squad this doesn't happen.
"I don't say that I want an older squad, but if you compare this to Norwich's squad, players manage this by themselves, they have played enough games. This is not the case here and we will lose some points along the way."We could see this all night but the players, in particular, Manhoef, seemed to be asleep. Even kids at school would have spotted their short corner routine and done something about it. How dumb must some of our players be? That said, Pelach should have hooked a couple on at half time Tuesday night...but he didn't. Similarly, going into Saturday with just2 in midfield was suicide. I think the management, coaches and players should ALL take some responsibility for where we currently sit You'd think we'd have covered defending corners in training, wouldn't you? When Bristol City kept taking them short, literally none of our players reacted like they'd ever seen a team do that before. I’ve never in all my life seen a team defend corners like we did against Bristol. There was basically three men unmarked along the edge of our box. We were inviting a shot or cross and we stood there watching. I’ve never seen anything like it! Absolutely ridiculous!

Alternatively here's a radical idea, maybe we are just playing teams that are better than us at the moment?
Crazy I know but how often do our fans consider the quality of the opposition other than saying "These are shit" et al

If Pelach wants a possession based, crisp one touch passing game or even just only a possession based game he needs to play the players who can do it. Wilmot, Gibson, Rose and Junior can’t do it in defence, Thompson can sometimes but mostly can’t, Burger is hit and miss, as is Moran.
Trying to do it with that lot is madness. Get Phillips in, perhaps Dixon at right back, I think he’s as good as anything we’ve got there and perhaps Seko with Moran in midfield with Burger deep. I’d probably go with Wilmot with Phillips, not ideal but a step forward. We may then have a chance to transit the ball quickly from defence and though midfield with a bit of certainty to a fluid front 3 of Bae, Koumas and Manhoef.
You can try and impose a concept on players all you want but if they can’t do it or do it fairly consistently it’s pointless and frankly stupid.

And how exactly is getting in our fourth manager inside a year going to suddenly turn the team round? Ot won't. We bought into Pelach as a long term project. The club needs to stick to its decision and give him time.

Which is precisely why its the sporting director's job to get the appointments of the coach correct. If Walters vision of the club is one touch posession football then he should have been buying players who could play that way in the summer especially if he as reported was looking to get rid of Schumacher earlier than he did. We dont seem to have done that so he should have got a coach who could get a better tune out of the players we have whilst slowly evolving the style. Pelach seems so far to only have one game plan which doesnt seem to fit who we have.

I don't think the formation defines the way Pelach wants to play. I think the formation is down to tactics for a particular game. The defining characteristics - which aren't working at the moment - is being comfortable with the ball, good movement at the front and a midfield spotting the movement and playing the killer pass. I don't think he's hung up on formation - it's thr speed of thought and execution that counts.
