For the first time in 7 years we actually look like we have been coached on the training pitch. We've had many false dawns but today was a really encouraging performance. Interesting how popular Pelach seemed to be with the Norwich players after the game, clearly well regarded by them. A bit more optimistic than I've been for a good while.

The last 2 games have proved to me he’s inspired a better 2nd half after his half time teamtalk/tactics

We can discount the Hull match as he had hardly had time to find his car park spot and learn the players names let alone have an impact on the result.
The Middlesbrough game was a shocker there is no hiding it!
However there has been lots of positives after that Middlesbrough match. He obviously doesn’t fancy the full backs (me neither!) We’ve been more direct - less tippy tippy. The players seem more united than ever and we’ve not lost in 3.
As for the slow subs today yes they were late subs but we were bossing the game for large spells in the second half so maybe he thought if it’s not broke why fix it!? In previous matches I’m sure subs were made earlier.
On the whole I’m impressed so far and I really like him as a person from what I’ve seen and that goes a long way!
Chicho! Chicho! Chicho!

Norwich should/could have been out of sight by half time today minus a quality goalkeeper…. That should answer your question.

How many times have we said that about ourselves in games at this level and ended up losing? Nice to see that the last 2 games we were very second best first half and finished the strongest with a point and feeling we could have won it

There are very fine margins at this level of football & having a very good keeper saves you points as showed today.

Far from a great manager so far, though slowly moving in the right direction. His use of subs, or lack of, worries me as he seems incapable of making a decision to change/win the game - hopefully this will come with experience. It was bizarre today how Vidigal seemed to stand on the touch line for 10 minutes whilst the coaching team decided who should come off, when or if at all. In the meantime Norwich made a number of subs. Also, he’ll never be great unless he sorts out our throw ins. The players never seem to have a clue what to do at a throw in and more often than not end up throwing backwards for the ball to go back to defence. I’m not expecting Rory Mark 2 here, he was a one-off that we’ll probably never see again, but there seems so little movement on throw ins and a lack of awareness where to throw it to a player to get an attack going. Too many throws were above chest height to a player today making it impossible to control. This isn’t a new thing, it’s been going on for a number of seasons, so overall I blame the coaching staff re this but time for our new Head Coach to sort it out. The substitutes or lack of is a bizarre thing to criticise him for. We were on top until the 80th minute so why would you change it? Once the substitutes came on our intensity dropped. As fans we have become too used to the 60th minute changes. I was glad to see the lack of substitutions. There was no one on the bench to improve us and also it meant players like Manhoeff got a longer game time to improve their fitness. Norwich's changes had no effect on the game.

He’s won one in five. Some promising signs for sure but can we stop pretending he’s the second coming of Waddington?

It’s still far too early to say. Plan A was good today. I would like to see more game management and a Plan B from him. He should have used subs earlier and we might have nicked a win. What was with faffing around for almost 10 mins with Vidigal on the sidelines ready to come on, not brought on whilst Norwich brought on several subs. It was weird. Fook knows if it tactical know how or chance but on radio it sounded like a game of two half’s, chance, desire, luck who knows.

Look like a team that understands what is required Tho k if we had everyone fully fit, he could get us climbing the table At half time?

He doesn’t have the tools to succeed at the moment. This squad is collection of weak kids and journeymen. Until we get some power, pace and physicality into the team we will just continue to bob along going nowhere regardless of who the coach is.

Norwich should/could have been out of sight by half time today minus a quality goalkeeper…. That should answer your question. That’s not really true is it. Johansson made one very good save from the volleyed effort they had. The save he made from the header was pretty routine as it was hard for their player to get much power on it. Don’t get me wrong he had another really good game, but it’s not like he pulled off a string of great stops.

Norwich should/could have been out of sight by half time today minus a quality goalkeeper…. That should answer your question. All three of Johanssen's saves came in the same passage of play so had they scored one they would not have scored the other two.

Maybe coaching in terms of shape is starting to improve but on an individual basis I still find Stoke hard to watch at times. Things as basic as tackling on the wrong side of an attacking player. Aggression to win 50/50. Passing, movement, and desire is still lacking. This guy like all previous managers has a lot to do to. We are still second fiddle to the best Championship Teams.

The last 2 games have proved to me he’s inspired a better 2nd half after his half time teamtalk/tactics This is right. As much as I wanted Schumacher to do well he never seemed to change things when things weren’t going our way, he just seemed to make completely random subs that didn’t make any sense. I think this guy can change things up as we saw today. I thought we were excellent for most of the second half and that’s testament to him as a coach. We may finish bottom half this season but as long as it looks like we have a plan I’m on board

When Waddo took over from Frank Taylor he didn't have it easy. He avoided relegation to the 3rd tier though. No doubt if it was today he would have been sacked. However he built his wall and went on to be Stoke's best ever manager He was at the club 17 years. History repeated itself when Pulis came and built his wall. He was at the club a long time. I was disappointed Schumacher wasn't given time but now we need to give him time. Time is what the manager needs

Far too early to declare whether he's a great manager for Stoke or not. But there's some encouraging signs that he might have some tactical intelligence and be able to influence the game during the match rather than just reacting and panicking. Agree matey, definitely improving.

Coates and Walter’s think the squads good enough , it’s why they sacked SS because he wasn’t getting enough out of it 🤷♂️
