I used to love a go on the old fruit machines. And if you did you could guarantee you'd come across a Billy Bleach 😆 Simon Day said Billy Bleach was based on himself. An absolute addict to the fruit machines.

Can't beat going for a pub lunch and a few ales on a day off from work. No better feeling than knowing everyone else is hard at it as you sink a few.

Nothing beats the idiot who claims to be ex-SAS or the like. It’s always a little baldy Dom Littlewood-like character in a black T-Shirt. Asian pubs are full of them and navy seals and decorated Vietnam vets You never meet a postman ... or an Army chef!

I don't mind the Walter Mitty characters in pubs. Pubs are there for talking shite. As long as a story is funny or contributes something to the group then fill your boots up. I am ok with blokes stealing jokes, manipulating conversations so they can get in a witty punchline. Even downright lies are fine with me. It's a pub spout as much shite as you like (including all the - isms) but do it with a smile on your face or tongue firmly in cheek.

Some bloke had a go at me today in the pub as “he’d struggled” to get a parking space outside. He actually apologised after but why moan in the first place I don’t get why he had a go at you in particular. Have you got one of those faces?😉 No, but he is a traffic warden.

I had the displeasure of frequenting the polite vicar on Sat after the match. 6quid a pint????????????? I was absolutely livid. I protested with all the cricket lads that we could have easily met in the Little Vic - a mere 3.60 a pint. I'm still seething at 6quid.

I've paid anywhere from £1.99 to £6.50 a pint this weekend. Have to say the more expensive ones were nicer this time around, and a couple of them were in more salubrious surroundings so I expect to pay a bit extra. Doing a Hartshill/Basford pub crawl soon. Won't be going to the PV then. Hop Inn, Little Vic, Greyhound etc will be on the list. Basically all the pubs my dad used to frequent.

Museum 1.10 more a pint than Little Vic. Artisan Tap and Sanctuary will be up there for extortionate prices. But all are on the Hartshill mile so will always be frequented by us on our Xmas drink.

I must say, I prefer a stinky craft beer in a woke microbrewery these days over a pub. I love them.
Re pubs outside London, fireplace vibes on a cold, winter midweek evening is the one for me. Re pubs in London, I love the whole Thursday night in the city boozers atmosphere.

Haven’t been for 3 weeks or so now which is pretty much down to the darker nights as tended to drink at one of the canal side pubs next to us and when walking past with the dog guaranteed to bump into someone I know.
Yes miss the banter but my bank balance is marginally healthier for now as my last trip to the pub a pint of Estrella was £7.10 and a large rose was £7.70, scandalous.
Popped into Morrison’s last night and with their 25% off on 6 bottles, minus staff discount and a £5 applicable more card offer worked out at £3.80 a bottle on a previous price of £8….19 Crimes which is a nice drink.

Went into the Jolly Potters, The Robin Hood and Noahs bar after the match on Satdee, all for the first time despite living in Newcastle for nearly 30 years before I moved away and probably visiting every other pub in the vicinity more than once. Not sure why. Think the Robin Hood always had a reputation for being rough, and the Noahs had one for being expensive and a bit poncey. Really enjoyed the Jolly Potters, love pubs with multiple small rooms. Beer was great, think thats also the first time I've ever drank Bass as well. Minor criticism was the jukebox being 3 goes for a pound. Needs to be 4 minimum. It was also boiling, which every single punter who came through the door commented on, but I love a warm pub.
Robin Hood was good, Noahs is more of a restaurant with a bar, but was good all the same.

Hoppy makes me happy ☺️ Well something's deffo wrong with one of us. I try a sip every chance hoping it'll grow on me and some of those dank ones still taste sick. Juicy and hazy is alright. But who the fuck wants two pints of pine tar?! No one puts that in real food.

Mate if you're ever around Birmingham I'd strongly recommend our local Stirchley brewed IPA "intuition". Juicy and fruity. It's bloody lovely. Stinks as well 😃
