..from our history to play today, who would you chose?
My hero was Thorne but even he would struggle in this team, but for the sheer magic it would have to be Fuller.
Unpredictable, skillful, magical.

Stanley Matthews is a no-brainer for me. The greatest and most famous player of the time who many footballers call the best footballer ever.
From my supporting lifetime, it'd probably be Fuller, closely followed by Bojan. Peak Shawcross would probably get this current squad promoted.

Alan Hudson.
I still have to pinch myself that a prime-time, 24 year old Alan Hudson played for us.
At times he looked bored by the mediocrity around him. So good it was ridiculous.
And how cool was he? Don't answer that, very cool.
The only Soke City player I ever wanted to be.

Mickey Thomas I was catching up with the Wrexham series on Disney and there was a great interview with Mickey and some footage of him scoring for them against Arsenal in the cup. Had me instantly wishing he was still playing for us today.
Honourable mention - Mike Sheron Yes many fans still to this day probably haven't forgiven him for the manner of his departure to QPR, but ultimately the club were willing to let him go. During that incredible scoring run in consecutive games during 95/96 you just knew he wasn't going to miss if given the right service, much like Haaland today.

From my time since my first game in 1988, would probably be N'Zonzi or Abdoulaye Faye. I think either of those would make the biggest difference to our team right now. Even more than Stein who I think would struggle to score with how few chances we create.

Tricky question.
I agree Matthews is the obvious answer but imagine being 1-0 down in the last minute against Bristol City or whoever and Matthews jinks past 6 men and puts in an inch perfect cross right onto the head of … Niall Ennis.
Alan Hudson on a mud heap at The New Den, threading an impossible ball through the eye of a needle neatly into the path of … Tom Cannon.
Freddie Steele cleverly losing his Preston marker and making a surging run to the front post as a cross comes in from … Lynden Gooch who twats it over everyone’s heads.
It’s going to have to be Vince Overson I’m afraid.

Of course we were privileged to have the man judged to be the World's Best for quite a few years. You don't need me to tell you who....Do you?

Just to see him play, Matthews.
From players I’ve actually seen (94 onwards), Nzonzi. Though if we had more of an aerial presence it’d be Delap.
