I don’t think as a club they could make a decision without people just moaning at them for it.
Very very negative attitude towards everything they do.
They could give us the moon an a stick and we would berate them for the quality of the stick.

You can please some of the people some of the time but you'll never please all of the people all of the time. Think that's the saying. Was ever thus..

Exactly. We've finished 16th, 15th, 14th, 14th, 16th, and 17th since being relegated - what more do people want?

That's just the general concensus of football and life imo. People always want more, which to be fair isn't a bad thing. Moan when things are bad, moan when successful! Prime example is moaning at Arnie for being 'lazy'

I think we are as a fanbase like any other, if they had experienced the total shitshow since our relegation. Depressed, cynical and expecting the worst.
Any time we have had hope we have had it knocked out of us - e.g. O'Neill with the injuries to Campbell and Souttar when we were playing ok, Neill's first season after we went 1-0 up v Bristol C in our only true patch of form only to lose 2-1 then collapse badly, and last week at Oxford when it finally felt before the game we might kick on.
There's also the fact that the people moaning at one initiative might not be the same as those moaning at another.
Let's hope this latest chap is the one to lead us to the promised land aka a top half finish!

speaking for myself I probably very easily pleased, all they have to do is appoint a head coach with some semblance of credibility, some rationale that says 'this guy has the job because...' & will try & see the positives & back them
I still haven't seen a single thing presented to say 'this guy is good because...'
all I can see is one interview from a year ago where he spoke well to an interviewer who has subsequently never interviewed him since
someone please sell this guy to me, be specific please

It’s just the nature of football, it’s not specific to this club especially when you’ve as depressingly bang average or even worse for as long as we have.
Decision after decision hasn’t produced the desired results so far.
People will moan until a decision has been made that shows we’re really on an upward trajectory.
Back when we last got promoted from the Championship I had the distinct feeling the season before that we were really going places.
I haven’t felt that at any time since we’ve been back in the Championship.

It's impossible to please everyone. People talk about the Oatcake like we're one singular mind that flip flops around like a fish out of water when we're obviously a bunch of different people with different opinions. You're always going to get some that are unhappy with a certain decision when there's this many of us and when you're unhappy you're going to moan.
We shouldn't be scared of people having a difference of opinion

I think it’s incredibly easy to please us. That’s why so many of us were fervently behind Schumacher despite the distinctly mediocre football he served up.
Imagine if Narcis actually gets us playing consistently well.

Until we go an entire season without some entitled dickhead saying "we should be pissing this tin pot league" we'll continue looking like a punch drunk prize fighter telling everyone down the pub how he used to be a contender. Yeah mate, course you were.

They could give us the moon an a stick and we would berate them for the quality of the stick. The problem with social media (and I’m classing The Oatcake as social media). It gives everyone a platform to voice their opinion. Before you’d only hear what people had to say to you directly which was far easier to ignore. Additionally society has changed, there’s barely any respect for other’s opinions, everyone is offended by everything and everything is polarised with no middle ground.

Yeah mate, course you were. We are shitter than we should be though, shirley? To not even have finished top half, with the premier league money, half decent attendances, and rich owners, for 6(?) years running, is extremely poor. In that time Derby, Swansea (twice), Cardiff, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Luton (twice), Coventry, Sunderland have all made the playoffs. It's a pathetic record and when combined with several seemingly panicky changes of management, I think supporters *are* entitled - to be fucking glum. Who's been worse than us, of clubs like us, at this level in these specific years? Birmingham, and latterly Derby. Maybe QPR. Maybe Sheff W. Even Preston, Millwall and Bristol City have been better. I'd argue this would have been miserable had we endured it pre the PL.

Derby, Swansea, Cardiff, Luton and Coventry are probably clubs who are seen to be on the same level as us by the average football fan, most of whom would say Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday are bigger than us. Stoke fans who grew up in the Premier League years have an inflated opinion of Stoke's ranking and importance nationally. Watch any quiz programme that asks a question involving clubs that have played in the Premier League and no one answers Stoke.

Relegated 16th 15th 14th 14th 16th 17th Not only that, I think we've only managed to win more games than we've lost ONCE in the past 15 seasons. And even then there was one game in it. I suspect all of the other 91 clubs in the football league have a better record than that, and if not it can't be far off.
