The problem is the spine of our team is awful. Wilmot terrible. Gibson not great. Burger what's happened to you man? Thompson meh Cannon nobody seems to want to pass to him. I cannot believe that only a decade ago, with most of the key players still involved with the club, we were held up as the exemplar blueprint of how to run a football club and we’re the envy of 95% of the football league. It’s a truly impressive decline. Bring back Tony Scholes and we'll be the envy of the Football League again 👍 Mel Scholes would probably do better. |

Just get the impression that other teams/managers/coaches are seeing us as a bit of a soft outfit who can be bullied and brushed aside. We lack muscle, grit and ‘bottle’ - strange what has happened to a couple of players who looked key components last year and worrying that a couple of kids - Phillips & Dixon are seen as better defenders than what we’re putting out there. As for defenders, at the open day beginning of August, I felt the best defender on show was Freddie Anderson, Viv’s son. I think he’s 17(?) but if he’s good enough he’s old enough!!

What doesn’t tally for me is the “Jeckll and Hyde” persona of this team.
I don’t think you could fairly criticise the first half effort last night,we showed desire,a press, and created enough chances to have been 3 up going into the break.What came after is the real crux of the matter for me,a complete capitulation after conceding,and the leit motif of the last few seasons kicked into gear.
For me this is what needs correcting and sorting very fucking swiftly.Its clear we aren’t fit enough and incapable of competing for the full 90,which begs the question,what the fuck has Schumacher been doing the last 9 or so months????
There’s a talented young side there,we can all see that but Shirley there can’t be a place for Wilmot ever again,if Gibson is going to be the new “leader” then he needs a good fucking talking to and Burger needs to sort his shit out too.

Most of this lot seem to have had any brain removed, gutless, spineless, unfit, the lot of them. I think they’ve managed to acquire what the last lot of deadwood had coursing through their veins…..fear. Absolute bottle merchants who always look for the backward pass.
