Having read some of the posts on this thread, it’s confirmed to me that Stoke fans must be some of the most fickle and hysterical fans in the country. Yes, I was as shocked as anyone that Schumacher was sacked when he was, but let’s get things in perspective. While he was a breath of fresh air with his attacking style of football and willingness to develop young talent, there was plenty of criticism and concern about his tactical awareness, playing players out of position, use of substitutes, and unpredictable formations. Players were looking increasingly confused and, by the Oxford game, looked lacking in motivation and desire. Walters has come in and overseen the clearing out of players who were either not committed or good enough, and brought in what most fans have regarded as good and potentially good replacements. He has decided - rightly or wrongly - that Schumacher was not going to achieve the progress that the Club are aiming for and has acted decisively. Yes, it’s a big risk bringing in a Coach with limited experience at this level, but his references from his previous clubs are good and there is always a risk in giving a relatively unproven coach an opportunity , but clubs such as Brighton have a good track record of taking a risk. I agree that Walter’s has put himself on the line with this appointment, but I don’t understand or accept the level of criticism and anger that is being directed at him. Plenty of people on this forum criticise the Club for not being decisive or clinical enough then are up in arms when swift action is taken. Let’s get behind the players and staff and see what Mr Pelach has to offer! My feelings too.

I am interested as to how Whitehead came to be appointment, not sure he was on the news coaches radar, through working together 🤔. Was he a Walters choice who was imposed on him? He will know the keeper coach from Huddersfield, and looks like they get on. Would be interesting to know if he had any relationship with Pelach

So it's official. Interesting. Nice to see Deano back also, hopefully he can get some pyshicality and tenacity into our midfield for the press and defense from the old days. We sure miss that edge. He'll be having Burger and Thompson kicking brick walls 🧱 😂

What was that assessment? My recollection was that Walters simply refused to be bullied by him. Bluffer Personally I’d say it was the other way around. Keane was a fine player, but there’s a reason why he’s stuck in the Sky TV commentary box and not involved in a managerial capacity any more.

It's funny what a foreign accent can do to some people. Yup, weak at the knees, win the league, excitable before a ball is kicked absolute bollocks based on the square root of 'talking a good game'. If Hull, Boro and Porstmouth twat us i assume it'll be Schumachers fault.

Will judge him on results but speaks well and love the end of that video - “Fucking 25,000 against 11”.

What did you expect him to say? "We've found a guy we think is orite, hope he does a good job." I know you're probably emotional and aren't happy about the decision but try not let that blind you into making dumb comments. Narcis seems very well regarded by all that have spoken about him publicly so far. If that's what we're seeing publicly, behind the scenes is probably backing that up and more. Get over it and get onboard!!! Dumb and weird? Look, if you want to fuck me you're chat up lines need refining a touch x Also, don't take 2 hours to come up with them, ask for help if you can't find the words. You've made a few dumb comments, but i won't hold that against you it's been a weird few days. I've also got a job, am not going to spend all day on here replying to you, but I will call out BS if i see it.

Just listened to the interview. He speaks very well yes. Even though I didn't want SS gone ill back the new manager as he is Stoke manager.
Though ill edge on the side of caution after enjoying previous starting interviews from previous managers!

He’s 36, I have underwear older than him. Can he get the respect required from his players. Perhaps Whitehead will crack heads of dissenters for him You do not own any underwear older than our new manager. To be fair, it doesn’t say he wears them. Might have them framed or something. “Shagging pants 1984 - 1987”

Those saying it's a huge gamble, I'm not convinced it is that much of one.
We won't go down with this squad whoever the manager is, so hopefully he can get that extra 10/20% from the players to help propel us up the table....

Whilst you're not wrong isn't this a huge part of the problem? As a fan base we are being asked to unite every week, back the manager, back the players because a united Stoke is like no other club in the country. Yet the very man uttering those words is doing everything he can to prove the club is anything but united. Why should any of us believe a word that comes out of his mouth again? Bit dramatic. Last season he said what was the right thing to say at the time. What do you want him to come in and say, he came in Feb, all he really had to play with were words. You can say something in February and genuinely mean it and also say something different in September of the same year, and both of those things can be your honest opinion at the time. The fact the people seem to have forgotten that is the reason the world’s in such a massive fucking state. Everyone is fucking obsessed with painting themselves into a corner. If I think 2+2 is 5 in February and by September I think it’s 4, should you be unable to believe a word that comes out of my mouth? Or have I just got better at maths? What about what he said last Thursday?

Love that we’ve appointed a complete bro as our manager. His clobber on the sideline is going to be outrageous and he’s definitely getting called out on it by some fans when we don’t win one.

I'm still pretty gutted for Schumacher but Pèlach is making me want to run through several brick walls for him.
And here I am again at Step 1 of my cycle with a Stoke Head Coach/Manager. Step 1 being "I love this man, he's definitely the one to lead us back to the Promised Land, the others were all false idols".

Do we know the full backroom line up?. Is Morris still a coach, has Shawcross returned to the under 21's?. Are any more appointments likely?.
