I’m quite excited about him. I think he’ll be a nutcase but in a better way than Nath was, I feel like we need someone to go in and sort the club out and say it how it is Where are you getting the nutcase vibe from? Tbh I don't understand how anyone has got a clear picture re him as there is so little out there about him One interview from a year ago If he's developed a reputation within the game then great but it appears to be an absolute secret which in the current media heavy era is strange Sacked by Girona reserves for getting relegated, undistinguished stunt at a Spanish 4th division side (which in standard equates to National League north, ish) various coaching roles at Huddersfield and Norwich How he has landed a Championship job is a mystery Fair summary - it’s an opportunity of a lifetime for the guy and let’s hope it goes well. But looking at his record the chances are it won’t. Although Norwich kept him after Wagner left, he wasn’t even made the assistant head coach. It has been said plenty of times on this thread but we’re making a massive roll of the dice here. He wouldn’t have be in the top 100 names from most for our next boss at the start of the week, chiefly because even the most football-obsessed people on here wouldn’t have had a clue who he is.

My problem with the past managers since rowett is that nobody has given us an identity and all of them wanted to outthink what the other coach was going to to instead of giving them something to worry about, establish a system and stick to it only then will we see improvement, changing every 3 or 4 games only creates confusion What identity did Rowett give us? Sorry I include him in that and Lambert for that matter

Scumachers statement.
“It came as a huge shock to me and my family to be told I had lost my job at Stoke City FC. The coaching staff and I have worked tirelessly over the last nine months and for our journey at the club to be cut short is hugely disappointing.
“Our objective last season was to keep the club in the EFL Championship. We achieved what we set out to and the way that we ended the season gave me great confidence that we could achieve this season’s objectives.
“We tried to create an atmosphere where everyone enjoyed coming to work and committed to giving 100% every day. We won seven of our last ten competitive games, and started this season by winning four of the opening seven fixtures. In my opinion, after an encouraging start, we were only going to get better and I believe the squad assembled for this season will go on to do really well. I would like to thank the players for their efforts and wish them all the very best for the future.
“It was clear that my vision of selecting young, hungry and energetic players to represent this great club was beginning to come to fruition. In playing the youngest ever Stoke City team in the Carabao Cup, we won the game by the highest margin away from home in 70 years. Following that feat I picked the youngest ever starting league team away at Plymouth Argyle. Unfortunately, the club have chosen to go in a different direction however, I thank the Coates family for giving me the opportunity to work at Stoke City FC.
“Finally to the Stoke City FC fans. Thank you for the support you have shown my family and I over the last nine months. I do feel that we were starting to build a real connection between the supporters and the team, and I hope you were aware of how much it meant to me to be able to represent you on the touchline.
“I feel that I have learned a lot about myself, both as a person and as a manager over the last nine months. I will use this experience and take some time to reflect, recharge and be ready for the next challenge.”

No mention of Walters in his statement adds more weight to the pair of them not seeing eye to eye doesn't it? He sounds really disappointed and in shock, really do feel for the bloke.

The club do not have my support over this.
We're seen by others as another Birmingham and a laughing stock
This guy has not in anyway deserved the job. No one had heard of him and his CV is dire
What on earth are they thinking of?

Best of luck to Schumacher - I was with him 100% His statement highlights exactly what many were thinking. He’s done a steady rather than spectacular job but we were on the right track and I was full of confidence that he would actually sort us out and get this club moving, finally!!
Really disappointed with the club and this has zapped all of my enthusiasm and optimism

Or a manager who has come into a basket case club and steadied the ship. Played some of the best front foot football we've seen in years. Blooding young talent. Has good support from most of its fan base. Is only 5 games into the season. 15 points in 8 games (auto promotion form that) Of course there's been some shit performances. How wouldn't there be when your clearing up a mess and simultaneously trying to build a young side. So what happens when Pelach loses 3 or 4 in 6 or 7? You've set a standard now John. Surely he needs sacking doesn't he John. Shit optics, badly managed by little Johnny Walters. And so the general consensus will continue that stoke are all the gear and no fucking idea. Billy smarts circus.... It comes down to opinions doesn’t it but I definitely didn’t see some of the best front foot football we’ve seen in years. I saw the exact same thing we’ve seen in recent years. Wild inconsistency and a struggle to break down bang average teams for the most part. There were signs of life at the very end of last season, but any optimism has been quickly snuffed out with some of the absolute dross we’ve seen this season already. I was sold the dream by Schumacher about always looking to play the ball forward and playing on the front foot which over his tenure I didn’t see consistently and in many games not at all. In the Narcis interview he talks about his philosophy of setting up his own side first and foremost and the need to play on the front foot and dribbling. I think we’ve got some quality players in Koumas abd Million who hopefully will be given the freedom to dribble with an emphasis on the end product. I just hope that results don’t go against him and he doesn’t shit himself like previous managers/HC’s and ignore the principles that they enthused about when interviewed to get the job.

Excellent statement, sums up my thoughts about him and sorry to see him go. Obviously want Stoke to do well and hope new guy curs it. Not likely to have much patience with him or Walters if it goes wrong.i accept it isn't the fault of Pelach but he has a lot to prove, hope he does.
Pelach will get a warm welcome to the hot seat.

You can feel the hurt in SS statement, understandably extremely disappointed.
Welcome Narcis, let’s get this show on the road. World is your oyster here fella. Get us moving quickly in the right direction with attacking identity and you’ll get a god like status after the years of shit we’ve had to watch.
Good luck!

I can understand him being disappointed. He hasn't receive the backing he deserved. And he hasn't recieved the same support that his predecessors have been afforded either, despite doing a better job. The whole thing stinks.
