Does this blow the SJW old boys myth to pieces or are people still going to peddle that absolute horse shit? What’s it got to do with Walters? Ben Gibson is running the show these days… Gibson tells Walters what to wear and when to ride Mrs Walters

Why is it always the goalkeeping coach that these managers bring with them? Teach them how to catch and hold onto the ball They should bring the furniture removel team with them.

On the ball as usual I have to say how this be much of a negotiation? Never managed before at any level, been given a huge opportunity should be taking what we offer should he not ? Where the hell has this tenuous endorsement of his credentials actually come from? Gibson ? Whitehead? Hell of thing to hang your hat on.

Is Pelach the new head coach or is the manager? If it's the former it's business as usual, if it's the latter it's a demotion of not so super jw,

Mr Pelach
Keep all non essentials boxed up, saves a lot of work in 6 months time 😜
Seriously, good luck and hopefully we can all back him, he'll need it been his 1st permanent managerial role and joining this cluster fuck of a club

It will always get peddled by some on here for however long JW is here Few more months max then Side splitting as usual. Seriously though, you find anticipating our continued failure hilarious? Because that’s essentially what you’re doing. The alternative is we turn things around, Walters continues to do a good job and you’re wrong. Again.

Given our average manager stay he could make the end of the season.
We seriously need to find a head coach or my preference a manager who can turn us around and stay. Once again I find myself hoping this is the one and yes I do believe in fairies and santa etc

How many ex Stoke players do we need as coaches, haven’t we got enough already. It’s unhealthy in my opinion, too linear and too much “in the family”. I know the maxim “if they are good enough …” but with Walers as DOF and all the rest, is it 3 or 4 coaches who are ex Stoke players already it feels like a dynasty rather than a modern diverse set up. We know from their time here that they are fine professionals and good examples for current professionals to aspire to. I have no problem with people who care about the club coming to work here. I’m against the Shuey sacking but not against employing people we know the character of. But what if they're shit at their job? We're trying to improve and who knows they could be great but it doesn't look like they're being brought in because of their ability, from the outside at least.

It's the kind of appointment we should've made much sooner - & before Schuey; a progressive head coach, new ideas, someone who is articulate & sure of what they're doing, very impressive online interview. Let's hope he can be the catalyst for what we've all wanted for way too long .. a proper team, long term cohesion and a winning mentality.
Still think the board could have treated Schumacher better - good luck to him. SJW this one's on you, stand & deliver.

The one difference between manager and Head Coach I thought was that they could be changed and a new one slotted in with little disruption. With Shuey and all of his back room staff being given the heave hoe how much different is the model? Obviously if he was a "manager" then I doubt he would have had a JW sacking him but still?
On a side note, how long does this new guy get? I really don't want it to unfold this way, but its such a gamble Im really not sure it was worth doing? say 10 games down the line and we have only added another say 6 points to the board and very much staring down the barrel?
For me the biggest problem we have had since relegation is that we have not attempted to go for an experienced "name" of a manager, I get it that we do not have the pull to get a Moyes etc, but a higher profile manager with a bit of authority would have been great. Instead we have had an argumentative prick, a complete nut job, an experienced steady pair of hands (who did what he needed to do to clear up the financial black hole of the previous two), then the most arrogant arsehole you could ever meet and then Shuey. Now we have gone for a complete rookie who talks a good game.
I think if you add up all the pay offs we seem to have got ourselves in to, we could have afforded a manager/head coach with some gravitas, one with contacts, one that players look up to and want to play well for.
Over to you Walters, but honestly this on the surface is another chapter in the book "How buy failure, spectacularly"

A yes man and arse kisser to the dressing room Based on what? Based on his arm around the shoulder with players which is fine but this could also backfire and increase player power? I apologise if I’m not confident at all, patience is decreasing due to the continuous mistakes the board has done since Mark Hughes was sacked. Wrong replacement in Paul Lambert, money wasted which caused FFP. And now leading up to this point? I hope I’m proven wrong and even just done a charity bet with Callas on the fact I think this appointment will fail. I support Stoke and will be there Friday cheering on the team, but I have to admit I am full of low confidence since yesterday.
