Has he not just taken a job at Barnsley? Yeah, last month with the ex Vale manager. But would imagine if his old mate Walters rang him, he'd be up for it? Don't like the thought of the sporting director selecting the coaching staff though Isn’t that his job?

Surely the manager selects his own assistant? I think it’d depends on who it is tbh.

Or is it because you're a coward? I just think it’s pointless because there’s no convincing you people. It’s like a weird cult of people happy to get hit in the face continually. Where there’s no sense there’s no feeling. Just utterly pointless and so fucking sad. Of course. It's not that you'd shit your pants at the prospect of people not taking kindly to it. Not that at all. If you feel so passionately, do something about it.

A valid point raised earlier on Radio Stoke about Chris Cohen. Appointed over the summer amid something of a fanfare and sacked along with all the other coaches after just five games?

Surely the manager selects his own assistant? Haven’t they both worked under Wagner or am I missing something?

I feel SS knew he was on the ropes at the start of the season. Maybe appointing Chris was a way to try and help him improve. It didn’t seem to be working so he’s gone as well. They also had a bloke on who interviewed Pelach and had nothing but good things to say about him. Was a good listen.

So unclear how their paths would've crossed. If it's Walters curating the core of the coaching team, seems a bit weird, with him maybe just bringing this keeper coach?

Do they just pull names out of a hat these days at Stoke ? 🤔 It’s more of a sombrero on this occasion

Would be odd if Walters appointed the backroom staff and expected the new man to be on board, may have completely different footballing beliefs.

You’d hope he’d employ ones that have the same approach. And with this bloke not having been a manager and having his own entourage then I dont see why it’s an issue. Bar the calibre of the bloke doing it all.

Cba to read the entire thread. Has it been mentioned that Gibson will probably be key to the Pelach direction?

I have arguments with the people that sit around me all the time 🤣 Wow…take that Coates family 🥊 But there’s nothing that can be done. Our fanbase generally are like a cult with them. It’s pointless. And they don’t realise what harm it’s doing. If I had any faith in Stoke fans to understand what’s going on then it’d be a more pressing thing. But there’s Bob Hope of that. Like people actually didn’t think Schumacher would get the sack before Christmas when it’s been so obvious.

Who keeps being more accurate than most of you and you still don’t learn. It’s a remarkable skill a lot of you have to not learn. And then wonder why the club makes the same mistakes. John Coates is wonderful. Schumacher won’t be sacked by November. And it’s all fine. I really do wonder about how people are so naive. It’s more that we don’t treat the real world like Footie Manager. You can’t just change the owners. They own the club, until you put your hand in your pocket and buy them out your only course of action is to parrot the same thing on here. When will you learn? Naive? Yes you are.

Bar the calibre of the bloke doing it all. Even first time managers normally bring their own men that they have a personal relationship with and can trust though. If he's incapable of raising an entourage of the necessary quality, fair enough. And we don't know if he's had any say with Whitehead. At least they both have some experience working with Wagner with his style, but without that personal relationship, it's not ideal if they're going to be working together/talking for the first time tomorrow morning.

There are however plenty of stupid people in the world that do. As is evidenced all of the fucking time.
